You guys make it seem like you love standard cars, even when I suggest deleting only the duplicates fanboys start acting like well... fanboys.
Hey! I'm a fanboy yet I don't care for dupes. Don't trow us into the same basket. There are fanboys and then there are well... fanboys.
And yes I love all the cars. It's the main reason why I'm buying a lot of car games. And since GT has such a massive number of them, it's my favorite game.

It's getting pretty funny in an era where remastered titles are becoming popular, we are slaying PD for including remastered cars.

PD: Innovating since 1998. :P
Why PD are having standard cars in the game because it keeps the tradition going in the game.

How many standards are there that don't have to be used in the game, that could be used specifically to boost the car count? Or aren't there any at all?

I feel like many people say they don't mind only because we haven't seen the gap between the two just yet.

Once we get an official trailer for GT7 I think many will completely change their minds, or PD will have at least made every car semi-premium to change those of us who don't want them in.

@samurai8juice no idea honestly the car count is over 1200 last I remember I guarantee at least 500-800 cars are actually quite useless.

Will still get GT7. I'm too much of a fan to say no. Besides, who's to say that GT7 won't have RUF Yellowbird/Ford RS200 style models for Standard cars?
Is it completely infeasible that the gap between Standard and Premium will be closed somewhat by the time GT7 drops?

I voted loyal to Sony, but unless PD gives most of the standard cars interiors (and adds some cars that I'd love to have), I'm not sure I'll get gt7.

Now this one I missed. Will you go to XBone if standards will be announced for GT7? And than somebody will complain if this kind of person is labeled as a hater? If this is not hate I don't know what it is. To go on another console becouse of standard cars is just.... lame.
What will come next? If the sounds will not improve will you go for PC? If the A.I. will not improve will you guys go for Wii?
This thread is a bad joke... like the OP signature. Standards are coming back, get over it.
Everyone has a different tipping point and if you look at standards or sounds as a tipping point it makes perfect sense. For me the offline game is a joke and useless...to me. Online is barely better, with barebones functionality, no leaderboards, no online driver rating, no community features...etc. It's turned into a hotlapping/pleasure driving experience for the most part and crappy sounds and standards only make it worse. Once you try another console or better yet PC racing, you see there's a whole different experience out there and sometimes it's much more attractive than GT. Nothing lame about that at all.

Why PD are having standard cars in the game because it keeps the tradition going in the game.
Cool, let's have 6 cars on track for GT7..you know...for tradition's sake...oh wait. :dunce::dunce:

Some of you guys are acting like there is only one game that we play. Or is just me that is having this kind of feeling?
I play many games. Specialy driving games. I have only one problem. I stick to one console in my living room and I don't want to spent thousands of euro for a gaming PC. I like to sit on my sofa, grab my controler and enjoy some games. I spent more time with GT than on any other driving game, so I will continue with GT7. I don't pretend much.. I'm fine with a concept grab a car, choose a track, enjoy the ride. Even online is not that bad for me, maybe becouse I'm not that competitive and I don't care to see my name on top of the leaderboards. The GT series deliver just what I need with an option to choose more cars and more tracks that no other game deliver. Like you could imagine I will buy Pcars,DriveClub,The Crew,Grid4,Dirt5 and more that will hit my PS4. So the future is not looking bad on my point of view. And I bet GT7 will be again the game I will spent most time with.

And my favorite restaurant is doing just that. They serve sub-standard food my wife love so much, yet I can't even smell it. But it's ok to me. I just let her eat what she like. You know, I love her.
We'll consider you our wife from now on ;)

Frankly i don't mind if you don't mind and you enjoy yourself with GT, just don't label all the criticism of people as 'hating' as they have valid points.

A developer like PD, which has much financial backup from Sony to produce trend setting games, shouldn't fall backwards and run behind the competition in terms of game design. Sadly that's the case with the GT series nowadays. Even small studios with limited resources do a way better job in providing consistent quality for their racing games.

That looked so good back in 2001 👍

I am talking a standard cars in the game Johnny be good.

Valid points get completely ground underfoot when people criticize by making harsh, overdone statements. "The cars sound like vacuum cleaners/pencil sharpeners/weed eaters/ripped nylons/mad gerbils/etc."

People mention tipping points, and there's another one where a certain crowd can't say anything good about the game. Can't seem to hold back when someone wants to make a post about something they enjoy about GT6, and tries to inform the universe how wrong headed the previous post was.

Or they're so outraged over the game that they proclaim that they're done with the series, have moved on to other racers because they're done with the series, and hang around routinely reminding everyone that they're done with the series. But will post occasionally things they'd like to see improved, even though they're so done with the series.

This is what's so discouraging to us, that we see a game which is imperfect and want it to be improved, and celebrate what's good about it. Some of you say you want it improved too, but it's hard to tell when some of your remarks almost sound hateful, and some posts are rather derogatory. When supposedly we both want the same thing. Sometimes, it doesn't show.

The game is rotten. The sounds are crap. The bots suck. The physics are wrong. The Standards are ugly. Offline is rubbish. Online is garbage. Every other racer is better. How can anyone with any sense like this?

Is this out of line? Well, let me ask you guys this. How many posts in the sound threads have read like this?

"Some of the cars have pretty bad samples, but some of them do sound rather good." "Some of the cars just need a little more grunt, and they'd be dandy."

And how many sound like this?

"The cars all sound like vacuum cleaners." "They sound so bad it hurts my ears." "I can't play it because the sounds are so terrible."

How many posts resemble these examples? Which one more? And which one sounds like someone encouraging PD to work on improvements? How many of you tell your wives and girlfriends that their cooking is pretty bad, and expect them to know that you have their best interests at heart?

You are wrong. I don't label all the criticism as hating. I'm well aware this game have many flaws. But when I see this kind of attitude I just think of one thing...hate,hate,hate.
You guys don't have consistent graphic quality with premium cars either, yet it seems this dosn't bothers you at all. Where is the point of toleration? Why nobody put pictures of rufs,rs200,r8lmp alike when criticising standard quality? Are those standards good enought?
Like you all know standards are getting premium upgrade constantly. You all know it takes time to model 600 cars. But most of you don't want to hear this kind of stuff. Hey, some even consider it's a big waste of time upgrading standards. And than the same person will come to me trying to convince me this is not hate, just a fan who is trying to save the game! Ridicoulus.

Ah and regarding my wife. She like a Seafood pizza, I don't. That is why I order a Capriciosa. We are both happy. But you wont agree with this solution as the Seafood pizza is still there. Seems the right solution would be both to move on Khebab.....

Try here The GT6 Epic Whining and Crying Thread because it will make you feel a lot better to say the things on that thread than here.

Agreed. I see TenD repeatedly posting with long winded posts trying to justify people hating on people that criticize PD/Kaz by continually referencing the tiny portion of posts that represent the most extreme end of the spectrum. Truth is the vast majority of discussion on GTP is well reasoned, polite and easily digestable. At this point his feedback like his above is nothing more than whining and crying with a more sophisticated delivery.

How many of you tell your wives and girlfriends that their cooking is pretty bad, and expect them to know that you have their best interests at heart?

Perhaps, you need to get out more often? :)

I don't know about you, but my position with GT is of, "a business transaction", not, "a domestic arrangement".
Big difference.
Granted, Kaz and PD do get hammered at times, but that goes with the paying customer territory.

Nope, a xbox has never ever tempted me!
GT is the number one racing series for me and not because of how the cars look but because of how they handle. If you are more interested in how the cars look than how they drive then go play need for speed or something like that.

Obviously it is nice to have the cars looking great both inside and out but that is not at the top of the priority list for me. They have to feel good first of all, GT is after all the real driving simulator.

Standard cars are not on top my priority list either and it does not matter to me if they are going to be the same as in GT6 it does no worry me and at the end of the day we just want a good racing game and if GT6 had no standard cars in the game will GT6 would have been a lot better game the answer will be NO because of the career events and the way that everything was set out but I still enjoyed it.

When GT7 releases, I'll probably have it pre-ordered, so I'll dive in head first. Whether I come out alive, I don't know. GT7 for me is the last straw. Regardless of 'Standard' cars, if the game in general is a flop, I'll probably declare a departure from the series and move on to Pcars or something.

Maybe not, but the standards are just the icing on the cake why people are completely pissed about GT6.

Again I said this earlier, but people haven't seen the first trailer or a gameplay video, but I guarantee you once they see those standards they will stand out like a sore thumb.

If they stood out to people on PS3 it's only going to get worse.

I do not agree with this

Standard cars had nothing to do with GT6 and it was the career mode and other things about the game and not the standard cars and as I said in my post If standard cars were not in the game will GT6 would have been a lot better game the answer will be NO.

I think some people(a lot of people) will disagree with that. When people are playing the 9th installment of a series(or 12th), you expect near perfection.

Its PD's 3rd game on the PS3, it should be near perfection.

Standards wouldn't complete the game, but it would make it much better. I don't expect to see blacked out cars in a game that was made in 2013.

I'm not into the quirks of GT6 that much, but I know other's are, and there could be/are many other things that could be 'complained/criticized' about.

Can you tell me this if there were no standard cars in GT6 it would have been a awesome game Yes or No ?.

Setting up a strawman to be knocked down isn't necessary. The point is that standard cars or any other single feature probably isn't enough for most people to choose not to buy GT6 or GT7. Adding standards into a mix that might include horrible AI, same old sounds, a career mode for the 90's etc. might make any one of those features a tipping point for some.

But you can have the best looking cars in the game but if the game play is terrible it is not going to be a good game.

@hall90 It is all that combined that makes GT6 the worst racing game I've ever played(there are others). Maybe I shouldn't say worst, but the point is for a company that has been around for 15 or so years in 2013 there should be no such thing as blacked out cars @Johnnypenso and @samurai8juice put that quite nicely.

Again the only reason those standards are even in is to raise the car count THAT'S IT! Which is terrible because we know if PD takes them out they only have around 500 cars I would believe which honestly to me would have been much better who knows what the standard cars truly take away from the game.

But you can have the best looking cars in the game but if the game play is terrible it is not going to be a good game.
That is true and you might have a point. If the game itself is not very good and many here think it does leave a lot to be desired as far as gameplay goes, then adding standard cars into that mix doesn't make it any worse. But that's in a GT6 perspective, comparing it to the current graphics and gameplay. I think most of us are hoping that GT7 will improve dramatically in terms of gameplay and of course graphics, and if that happens, the standards will be an eyesore for some.
