The earlier the better, although there is some guy whining on the PS forums that, because Fury isn't out until this evening, Sony are providing a "really poor service" because they said the game was available on the 23rd, and instead of being able to download it when the clock ticked over at midnight, he has to "wait all day"... seriously, some folks are incredible

I see this kind of comment with every major DLC update. I keep waiting for the day that game publishers stop announcing things in advance. They build anticipation and wind up having to deal with a vocal minority of whiners.

The official forums are full to the brim with moaning idiots, just glad not many of them have discovered GTP.

That said banning a few would be fun.

Considering the number of times I see a banned member who attempted to argue that their behavior is fine on other forums, I would guess a few have found GTP. I just don't think they last long enough for us to notice...or care.

Hehe, on another note... I was playing with a Japanese guy and he was the host and when we were sat in the lobby it came up with a message along the lines of "The host has chosen content which you do not have. Exiting game." o.o Do... Do they... Already have it...

Entirely off topic but I believe its things like the proper use of English and the quick reactions of the fine moderators here that make GTP a pleasant little spot on the internet, between here, WZ and TSA I get all the news and debate/conversation I need. Oh and Twitter, it has turned out very handy.

So yeah Fury, honestly can't wait.

Does anyone still have framedrops since updating to 2.0 as I haven't had any yet?

Raced some more and i'm surprised they let it out like this - it's great but it's frozen on me twice in about five or six races (where I've had to reset the PS3).

There is still some issues with the HD v2.00 update as well, but they are working on a fix for that. I guess there will be some teething trouble for Fury too, but I hope it doesn't spoil anyone's enjoyment of the game tonight!

I just got home from work and am downloading it now, but it will take about an hour with my broadband (curse you British Telecom). Oh well, atleast E4 are showing an ancient re-run of Friends that I can watch in the meantime.

Glad you're all enjoying Fury!

I just wanted to jump in now to talk about the annoying hang in the online game list when you scroll to the bottom.

We are aware of it and have a fix in the works now. Please be patient.

For the time being though be careful not to scroll down to the 20th game in the list or it will hang. Please use the filters (triangle button) for now to find the race you want.

Also the coming fix will sort out the slight in-game stutter some of you are experiencing (particularly in Zone mode).

I will update with progress on this in the coming days.

Yeah, I'm having great fun trying out Zone Battle (took me a go to actually understand how to win) and Detonator (kind of awesome, even if I STILL don't understand it fully ^.^).

Had another freeze - seems to be a major problem, always at the end of a race at the results screen.

Right, yes, seems it freezes nearly every time you've finished a Racebox race...

I had it freeze on me last night, exiting a Racebox speed lap session...

Qirex, Assegai, Harimau, Mirage(New mirage rocks!) or feisar all battling!

Yeah, I love the new Mirage - the new Icaras actually almost seems mediocre

Like Feisar, Assegai and Qirex, and Harimau interests me as well. Icaras and EGX seem to be the two worst designs out of the new ones.

The new Eliminator mode is brilliant edge of your seat stuff - it now goes by damage done instead of outright kills, and when you get in front of everyone and pick up a quake, you'll be ever greatful of the ability to turn round

I do love the new Eliminator mode Flipping around and hitting someone head on with a plasma is awesome

I've just played two games of Eliminator online and won them both Was very lucky in the second game, was nowhere but somehow managed to steal the win from miles behind... I was in a good position on the track, and got a Quake weapon, flipped round and must have wiped out several opponents in one shot! It was first to 220 pts and someone was on 214 and must have thought he had won, but I must have scored nigh on 100 pts in one shot

I like it. Not breezing through the first campaign level, either-Elite silvers so far, and detonator is going to take a bit of work. Very well done.

I'm not very good at Zone Battle either, but I'm getting the idea... best thing to do is to build up your zone bar and use it when it gives you enough of a boost to take the "lead". It seems that avoiding the barriers is the tricky bit... I haven't won a single race on Elite difficulty in Zone battle yet, though

No worries 👍 Phantom class races are bloody hard at first, but once you get into the swing of things, it starts to get very interesting indeed


edit: Handy hint for Eliminator mode - if you drop mines, don't then flip around and drive into them yourself like I just did

Hehe good tip, for Zone battle i found the best way was to save them up and be nice and clean and get the speed pads, then deploy it all at once out of a corner (to give yourself space for the acceleration) and demoralise the opposition!

It has been a while since I did it, but I believe you have to hit the speed boost coming out of the hairpin (just after the bunny hopping mag section), which will knock you airborne over a hump, and then pray that you time it just right.

I just got an Elite gold on Detonator mode for the first time - unreal And I was listening to "A Sprinkling of Clouds" by Gong too. Couple that with the amazing visuals (especially the psychedelic blast when you hit a bomb) and that is one spicy meatball

Also, I just noticed that the bombs flash in time with whatever music you are playing!

I got the first Detonator Elite Gold in two tries, seemed really easy... Then I tried the second and couldn't get above 240,000 before crashing Maybe I fluked it the first time

Update 2.01 came out earlier, fixes a few bugs - hasn't frozen after a Racebox race yet and if that keeps up, hats off to Studio Liverpool for addressing issues within a single day

Also fixes a major problem with online - originally if you scrolled down to game 20 it would freeze every single time

In other news, Zone Battle is actually the easiest mode for me

Hopefully I will get my new PS3 today and actually use my own save file, looking forward to seeing the stats though I have to add about 50 hours to the gameplay time

Has anyone tried getting the "Hold Your Fire" trophy yet?

You have to reach Stage 10 (lap 10) on a Detonator event (at the track of your choice) without firing a weapon... blinking hard, I can tell you! I've made it to lap 5 on Syncopia and Anulpha Pass, but that's it!
