lmao, you're all acting like a bunch off 10 year old kids. TGS is about a month away. PD has yet to confirm any info at gamescom, most of whay you've learned is pure speculation. You should be happy that there was a playable build of the game at gamescom. In about one month all of your questions will be answered.

Great, another "I'm so dissapointed because PD didn't give us any news" thread. Yet another example of something that was only hinted as "possibly" or "likely" yet people managed to somehow think it was "promised". As I said sometime ago, you set yourselfs up for failure when you set false expectations. PD nor Sony are to blame, only you and your overly hyped hopes are to blame.

No one forced you to read any of these threads.

GT5 is disappointing? They have barey given out any important info to be disappointed about (ie online and physics).

As for what has been released so far, I see nothing to be really down about.

i never said they were 800 odd cars if you read further on i say "or whatever" meaning "or whatever" is correct.

but thanks for the answer

The quote being bandied around is 830 cars from GT4 - based on translation from an accidentally leaked bit of data on the GT official site.

Which cannot possibly be true since there's only 725 cars in GT4 at best (if you have one of the 90k Korean versions - 722 is the best elsewhere for PAL) and 24 of them are modelled in GT5P in full with full interiors.

So it's not you that's at fault, but the claim that 800-ish cars will be straight ported from GT4.

In general, I think people are over reacting. But I suppose it's to be expected. So many people have been waiting so long and no matter what information was leaked or released, some will be happy, others won't.

But as various people have already suggested, and as I said in the NFS:Shift thread, I think the important thing is to keep perspective. Some cryptic specs were temporarily posted in Japanese and a few brief videos were shown and folks are already drawing such strong conclusions: I love it! I hate it! It's great! It sucks! LOL! Let's take a deep breath and wait until we actually have the final version in our hands before we either start wearing the rose colored specs or drinking the hemlock please. :)

Personally, I find the idea of:
- private & public lobbies
- voice chat
- performance altering damage
- 60 tracks
- revised physics
All (potentially) wonderful news. I've had a great time with Prologue but lacking some of these features limited it's enjoyment for me. And I'm now quite excited and really looking forward to it's release.

There will always be nits to pick. But from what I've seen, I'm impressed. I'm already impressed with Prologue. People have to stay realistic. I'm confident in saying, 15 years from now, the hardware and racing sims we play will blow GT5 away. Completely. Either in technology or development costs, there are going to be certain limitations and you can't necessarily expect PD to create the be all and end all right here and now.

Granted, I wish as much as the next guy that it wasn't taking so long... ;)

You left out online Championships!!!

This is blowing my mind!

edit- I got Glasses today... what a great day to get glasses!

Everyone just needs to stop basing EVERYTHING on one 3 min video. Just because you didnt see something in that video, doesnt mean its not in the game. That was only a little taste, they could of, and most likely did, leave tons of stuff out of the game. I dont believe any thing until someone has a gold copy in there hands.

I'm dissapointed with the damage.

Not all cars have damage, I don't care for what reason they give for this but having damage for only some of the cars sounds...daft. If you're going to have damage, do it properly or not at all. Plus from the footage of the cars that actually have damage it looks bloody terrible, they might as well not bothered.

Yes, I would be hesitant to say I am disappointed, the only real disapointment for me is the news that there is no Porsche. There is good news too, so I guess actually I am pleased, rather disappointed.

500 cars with damage > 1000 cars with only 170 with damage

How do you know only 170 cars will have damage?

Quit whining you little bitches, you wanted damage, you got damage, which should please all the rammers at Suzuka's first corner, so what if it isn't on all cars, do you think you are going to own all 1000 cars?

Never have I seen so much negativity, you whine that there is no info, you whine when you get info, you ignore all the stuff we didn't know about, what the hell are you doing here? I pity the people who have to live with some of you, do you get up in the morning and whine that it's raining? then whine when the sun comes out because it's hurting your eyes? You probably do.

I am really excited about GT5, like I have said before, I would have been overjoyed if all they had done was take GT5 Prologue and add more cars, a GT mode and private rooms, and I think I am not alone? But wait, we have WRC, NASCAR, Head Movement Tracking, Damage, 1000 cars, Play your own music, and more to come, honestly, this place is starting to depress even me, STOP BLOODY WHINING.

No one forced you to read any of these threads.

And yet, thats mostly what I'm surrounded by. There is no justfication for many of these threads to go up. Its as irritating as the endless release date threads.

The only thing i'm disappointed about, is that there is no release date yet! Plus all the negativity on the fourm!!!

I can hardly be excited over this, I've been playing since GT1, bought all my consoles for gran turismo, bought a ps3 for GT, and they firstly are very late, and secondly have to box-up to my high expectations, which they have given me since they are doing forever over this game.
I want it now! and I want damage on all cars not 170 that's just half-assing...

no. because pessimists would have been whining just as much back then, and even more since they would need to wait longer until the next game event.

Why is it called whining when a feature you were expecting either isn't included in the current build or isn't fully realized? I'm sick of hearing this. 👎

There are two things that have got me down. One, obviously, is the damage specific to certain cars. The other is PD's lack of clarification on many of the game's features. Yes, I am being a bit pessimistic. So what?

I'm not crying and I'm not whining. Things may (and probably will) change between now and TGS, and then between TGS and the game's release. I can't make assumptions and pretend that GT5 is perfect and the best game ever made. I can only go by the information currently available. There are so many unanswered questions since yesterday that I don't know what to think.

LMAO @ this!

how dissapointed iam depends very much on the translation at hand.

60 tracks...ok was expecting about 75 ish.

20 tracks...naff

and god knows whats going on in with the car count and damage/interiors.

but iam disappointed by PD, super secretive dev's are a relic of the mid 90's the better companies actually acknowledge that their fans exist on occasion.
