For those who like to use the Clio, but does not like how happy her tail is. Please try and use the The Lion's Den of thhe Clio Tuned. I used that tuned and modified it slightly and got a time of 1'59.801s. It is very stable and makes the Clio more fun to drive. Wtih this tune, I should be able to find my way into the low 1'59s or if a miracle happens, even a 1'58s is possible. Thanks TLD.

Could you post your modifications please? I'm driving my butt off and can't seem to break a 2:04 :yuck:

MAN does traction control suck! I forgot to turn it off last race and it was awful. :yuck: I didn't realize how much I was spinning the tires coming out of corners.

I'm in at :00

Edit: Well, I'm consistent.... at 1:04.7. :grumpy: I got one lap down to 1:03.5, but it was kind of a fluke. It was enough to win the race though. :D

I think I need a new car... or my car needs a new driver. :nervous:

Corvette sounds fun. I'll hop in at 00 :)

Be verrrryyyyy gentle with the throttle.

Just ran a 2:01.318 during a race in the Amuse 350Z, with nobody around. Snapped a photo, but I may try and do some time trials after the :00 race to see if I can get a ghost replay out of it.

Edit: Wow. That last race sucked.

Really? I thought it went pretty well, aside from my over-confidence on the corner before the chicane. Brought me from first to third, which was basically last.

Yeah, my best lap was something like 2:03.5xx, when I am used to running a couple seconds faster than that. Disadvantage of the Z is that I suck on straightaways, then get stuck behind people in the corners. I need a turbo!

It's funny, the exact opposite is true for the vette. It's a beast in a straight line, but you get understeer and oversteer all at once in the corners. It certainly keeps you on your toes! I got a new best time of 2:02.6, admittedly with a draft though...

Well guys, it was fun. Starting tomorrow I have no choice but to go back to using my Sixaxis controller for races. Let's see if I remember how to do that...

Oooh that blows. Since I got my G27 I haven't even touched my controller for racing. What's wrong with your wheel?

The rig I was using is borrowed, and I have to give it back before I move to Arizona. So I'm going to sell my racing seat I was using, probably sell my DFGT since I only have so much room in my Civic to carry stuff. I figure I'll probably buy a G27 when GT5 comes out and make my own rig for it. I will officially be off the internet sometime next week, and probably won't be able to race again until sometime next month.

I'll be in tonight for some racing, but getting a hold of that Clio is a trial in itself but it is quicker than the Cali at different points on the track. I'm gonna give the NSX a go too because there was one race last saturday I think I saw i-plume doing what he does best in that car that no one else can keep up with. I aim to match him with that Vehicle:tup: 👍

Oh, well in that case good luck with your move, and I'll see you in a month.

By the way, I highly recommend the G27. It makes a huge difference in performance and fun level just having the clutch. 👍

Yeah I want the clutch pedal and a real shifter. Just ran a few laps in the Z with the Sixaxis. Best I could muster up was a 2:02.2xx after 7 laps.

I worked on my Clio setup yesterday and i came up with a 1:58.7xx using the clutch..

Not using the clutch leads to some horrendous lift-off oversteer moments during gear changes.

There are some things PD needs to work on for the next game..We need faster gear changes with no-clutch for two reasons. Equity between wheel-g25/7-pad users and to minimise the lift-off oversteer effect i described..

Also , in GT5P, some tracks have literally cheats...Suzuka has the ''i'm two-wheel riding the grass'' in the first esses to stay in the corners..Fuji has the huge run-off areas and Eiger has the ''Magnetic track boundary lines on the inside of corners''...These things are really well known among top racers and are used like cheats for a long time now..This has to stop on Gt5..

Can I ask how you guys organise the races on GT5p? I was under the impression there was no private lobbies in this game?

I won't be able to race anyway, my ping to anywhere but south Asia and Australia is too high :(

Some here who tested R8 tune? and catch my time??

Per

I'll try it in a few mins but can anyone tell me what I can do to make my R8 tune here faster on the straights, because it is very, very quick in the corners, but much slower on the straights

Here it is:

Power: +8
Weight: 86%

Tyres: R3/R3

Height: -20/-18
Spring: 7/6
Dampers: 6/5
Toe: +0.15/-0.25
Camber: 2.5/2.5
Brakes: 5/5

Angle: 40
TC: OFF
ABS: 1

1st: 3.707
2nd: 2.376
3rd: 1.691
4th: 1.356
5th: 1.159
6th: 1.007
Final: 3.885

I can go through Degner Curve for example at 105 mph and the second corner in the casino chicane at 60 mph

With DFGT I can get 2'04.xxx but I think it's just my driving style, I am pretty sure you guys can go a lot faster in it however.

Just did, feels very similar, but yours is a bit faster on the straights and a bit slower in the corners and I don't feel as confident in yours as I do in mine, but I still can't get beyond 2'04 in either :grumpy: But I feel a 2'03 coming along soon...

I seem to be missing out in 3 main places, firstly Spoon Curve, I go in at 90 mph fine, but I don't know when or how slow to brake to in the second part of the curve. Secondly at the Hair Pin, but that's just the exit I need to work on. Finally when to brake for the casino chicane. IF I can get those right I will be onto a 2'03 and maybe a 2'02 if I'm lucky

If everyone hits the go button at exactly the same time, you end up in the same race.

Worked on my set up aswell Picket, but I don't use the clutch and all I can muster out of her right now is 2'19.229. The problem with the Clio Tuned at 700PP is to maintain a consistent lap with her man. I think it's just me..:scared:

It's hard indeed..To nail it consistently you need to find the setup balance that gives you enough agressiveness without sacrificing too much on stability..Common mistake is extreme camber and toe settings, they seem profitable but are not in the long run..

P.S Can't comment on your laptime,i don't get it..

:D 1'59.229......:ouch:

@ Quattro can you see if you can get your tune in R1 / R2s? That might help the lack of speed in the straights. I will try that with my own tune sometime soon, maybe not tonight, but tomorrow maybe.

P.S. I will be gone for a fortnight tomorrow, holidays and all, so I will see you guys either tonight or in 2 weeks time.

Hi again :) Just tested your tune and its good, but you had to drive it hard.
I got 2.02.235 at second lap. T1 53.6xx and T2 1.38.7xx
I think in a good lap you can do 2.01.xxx with this tune too, but as you said its fast in corners and little slow at straight so you had to win the most in the corners and get max speed out. Whats your time om T1 and T2?

I Think R3/R2 is the fastest combo, but I want to know your T1 and T2 time.

T1 around 0'54.8xx to 0'55.2xx

T2 around 1'40.xxx

So I'm missing out on the first sector then and not the rest of the lap, guess its my entry to the first corner then, thanks for that.

Did a few laps a moment ago with R2/R2 and more power, but I still can't breach the 2'04 barrier, I got a 2'04.036 and was very irritated, but I will try your R3/R2 suggestion on my tune, because R2/R2 left the back end a bit too loose, but I will find my way around that, one day.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll re-try yours tomorrow!

P.S. I LOVE to drive cars hard, but if I drive one hard and it over/understeers badly then I tune accordingly, which tames it so to speak, but that may be the downfall of my lap times.

Who is using the 350Z Tuned all the time? I believe it's you R1600Turbo, right?
