We'll go with the one Aderrrm put up.

GT500's got a new member:
w-g-e (GTP_w-g-e)

GT300's just got some competition:

Welcome Piket (tony1311)

Ok. I want to change to GT500. :sly:

Just joking.

Good to have you on board.
I'm gonna have to practice a lot more to keep up with the front of the class now. :)

Should I be really worried about being in GT300 now?

tony1311 is kind of fast.. :)

But the class A competition in GT300 will force you to improve. And the faster guys you race with, the faster you'll improve. 👍

Kamekaze: I don't think you want to go to GT500. W-G-E just joined that and well, put it this way, he's fast.

Ok here's a perspective.
He finished 1st and I came 27th. That performance was enough to get me promotion. Be afraid GT500 people.
I'm afraid of Piket though.:(

Well there's a lot of names on the particular WRS results you linked to that I've raced with.
I understand you probably know him and have good reason to say he's a fast hot lapper.

But there's hot lappers, then there's guys who aren't as patient to get together a good lap, but are a lot better at racecraft and getting ahead during a race. One I race him and see for myself if he's got both of these skills, then I'll be all ":embarrassed:". Then ":)"

But it's awesome.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see tony hope on GT300 along with akmuq. The entire series is becoming more well rounded everyday.

I don't really know him and have never talked to him, I just know he's fast. He competes in the IDOR as well, a race series with similar cars and I think he's pretty fast in that. Most hotlappers aren't good racers, but he is by the sounds of it.

I've competed against D1 Golds before and I'm miles off of them. Around 3 seconds or so.:yuck:

It's great that fast drivers join! I'm super happy with the sign-ups so far.
And I'm also VERY pleased with the new "success ballast penalty" system. It will even out the odds a bit I guess.

Oh, and here is my latest suggestion for the schedule.
Remember: It's hard to please everybody to 100% as you know. So take a look at the schedule, and let me know if you can't participate in 8 of them (not counting the 12th finale round). If you can make 8, everything is fine for a starters. And since we got a few 2 week breakes, we got some room to reschedule races without delaying the season.

Hey guys, I'll be competing in GT500. I had a hard time choosing between the classes.
In GTP_IDOR the combo is GT300 at deep forest reverse.
In WRS the combo is GT500 at Tokyo R246.

I was a true hotlapper (and I couldn't handle powerfull MR and FR cars), but as I got more practise with the wheel I became much more consistent and now I can handle all sorts of cars.

Thanks for the kind words Akmuq.:)
The reason I joined this is because I see many names I think I've seen before. And it looks to be a great series with so many participants. The reason that I choose GT500 is mostly because I ran a little session on the Tokyo circuit for this weeks WRS combo. I really liked the handle of the car (and though I also like the handle of the GT300 cars), they feel rather slow. And not because I reckon all those fast guys in the GT300 cars.;)

Can you remember me how much success ballast we're gonna use Chorda??
Too lazy to check it in the morning. :sly:

Hmmm.

That may be too low.
Following lap times were done offline testing a Integra for another series:

1100 KG 1:05.306
1250 KG 1:06.154
1300 KG 1:06.306

Notice the last 2. 50 Kg and a minor difference in lap times. Is that good enough??
I'll test with the Lexus IS350 today if I can to see how a GT300 feels with that handicap.

Maybee we need to raise the level a bit. But ,2 in a one minute lap would be ,4 at suzuka. 44 laps, will end up in a 20 second "penalty". Add the increased tyre wear to that as well.

Pre-season race this Friday. We will run 3 races at 3 different tracks. Distance: 70 km/race

Connect Time: 15.30 PM (EST), 19.30 PM (GMT), 20.30 PM (BST), 21.30 PM (CET).
Green Flag: 16.00 PM (EST), 20.00 PM (GMT), 21.00 PM (BST), 22.00 PM (CET).

Sign up list: (First 7 in each class will make this race. If we end up with a lot of drivers, making another room is no problem ofc. But I really want to do the pre-season races as mixed class for the new guys to get to know the concept, learning procedures and so on.)

Remember we can only add 200kg to a car at a time. At 50kg per race win at the moment, it's entirely possible for someone to be at maximum ballast at some point in the season - and we don't want people reaching that maximum too quickly.

It should only be a subtle difference too, not a penalty for a race win. Something like a tenth per lap (if that!) is fine, you don't want to start having your race leaders being a second off the pace on weight alone.

Tbh I think what we have atm is fine.

hey Chorda,

With just the first round being moved a week earlier i can make 7 races (as opposed to 6on the original schedule)

Moving the whole schedule a week earlier i can make 8 races, moving the whole schedule a week later i can make 10 races

Thats how it all fits for me but it should be set to what is best for the majority

Thanks for the info! 👍

We'll probably have to tweak the schedule a bit more.

Ok.
I thought we were only had ballast to top3 in the standings.
Gonna have to read the discussion thread again.

I think it's better if you wait with signing up. Part cause you can only stay for one race, part because I want to keep spots open for the new guys mainly. The reason I want the participators to stay for the entire session is that I want feedack from the drivers about the level of mods, and to give me that feedback, you need to attend to all 3 different kind of tracks.

I'll "save" spots for:
GT500:
Guruk77
GTP_w-g-e
GTP_SOHNVONSTIG
RedReevos
