i think at the end of the day we all have preferences but in the end not everyone will be totally happy with the final track list.

i do like Monza over Daytona though:)

Nycrom, nice match last night....for Tottenham :sly:

I think that Monza is part of race history..we will see the final track list :)

About the last night match was been very nice! Congratulation Tottenham.. 👍

I like long distance race, 200km up, and I would like see again my home circuit: Monza.. there are a lot US races..why don't we add on the Schedule one more race?

yep, the longer races that we did in pre season (le sarthe and monza) were fun. required more pit strategy and concentration. really running variable time and weather at the available tracks is nice because it can really mix things up.

monza is a great track and i was hoping it would make the schedule but i'll race whatever Masi sets up. we need more races than ten lol.

I agree, more races and a bit longer than pre-season race will be more fun and professional for our drivers, concentration, race strategy, a great race vision..
150km races are sprint races..fun yes..but we practice for all week to find the right tuning..and to the and usually for "just" 35/45 minutes of race. I think any race will be of 1 hour and 30 min. and the mini endurance between 2 hours and 30min. and 3 hours, that are really mini endurance races.
We all have the skill and concentration to affront this kind of amazing race.
And one or two more race in our schedule Champioship will be better too..really I dont like lost Monza..
What u all guys think about that? :)

I think that we should keep the "normal" distance reaces to around 45-60 minutes, and the enduros to around 90-110 minutes.. Because if kept longer than 90 minutes, it will open up for pit-stop strategy which I like :)

I agree with you that races could be much longer, but I also think that it takes to much time, especially the 2.30-3 hour ones. I'd say we keep it as it is for now. We have to remember that in the USA, i's daytime and prbably hard to dedicate that much time at mid-day. And for me, living in CET, it would keep me awake until 3 in the morning, which I don't like :). It's a bit ironic that the primetime are actually in the middle of the atlantic sea when we race, but since we are an international group of people, the times used at the moment are the only ones that will work out.

Yes that is true..differents country and times..I living too in CET time..anyway I hope for the "normal" races distance around 60min. and for the enduros 30-45 min. more.
And what about introduce one or two race more in the schedule? :)

OFFICIAL IRC CHAT ROOM YEAH

#WSGTC on the Foonetic server network

I really think it would be a good idea to have our own IRC room. It'd be great to use an official IRC channel to discuss matters instead of PM'ing constantly. So I created it.

It's on the Foonetic server, channel name's #wsgtc
(simple enough )
Go here for simplest entrance to the channel:
https://02.chat.mibbit.com/

  1. Just go to the drop box next to "IRC" and find 'Foonetic'.
  2. Then enter your nick
  3. Then enter the channel name '#wsgtc'

Chances are, your initial username will be taken and you’ll be given something like “Tim____”. You can change your nickname with the command “/nick NickName” (no quotes). If you plan on using your channel often, you may wish to reserve your chosen nickname with a password. You can do this with a command in the format “/msg nickserv register password email@address“. When you return to the server later, you may login with “/msg nickserv identify password“.

Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with IRC. I'll teach anyone anything they need to know in very quick order, it really is simple.

I've registered the room and my admin status so it'll be up for the forseeable future. I'll be on there most of the time since I leave my computer on most of the time.

So yeah, if you can now, go ahead and join in. If you're dedicated you could also get your own "IRC client" program so you don't have to worry about having to go on through your web browser. Come one come all let's have cyber-race-chat funmaking! :sly:👍

Hello lads. I signed up for gt300 was wondering when quialification starts for round 1 ?

Not decided 100% yet. But probably in the beginning of next week. As long as you are approved by Masi_23.

I'd suggest you read the OP (post 1-4) carefully and also join the test-race this friday. To make sure that you fully understand all procedures before entering the real championship.

WSGTC steward
Denilson

EDIT: Just noticed that you are on the list. 👍

@ New Members - if you sent me a pm and have been approved but do not see your name on the list, PM me again.

@ Everyone
- Anyone can commence qualifying at any day/time but only under the supervision of a Steward :)

I will hold qualifying next week on Monday and Wednesday since that's the time im free.

@ Wardez - awesome! 👍 ill check that out later.

btw, we can also use the chat feature in GTP itself if need be.

My official intro is submitted. Let the rubber hit the road and ya'll hit me up for some invites! Oh, my flag needs changed to the good ole USA. (Great Britian, wtf?)

Hey guys, i've been thinking in regards to car choice.

In GT300, since there's only 9 cars available, it's inevitable that people will choose the fastest cars. I can foresee grids with only Garaiya's and RX7's on track.

Here's my idea. 9 cars in GT300 - 30 drivers. 30 divided by 9 - about 3, rounded to 4. How bout limiting each car to 4 drivers only? But it wouldn't be fair if the fastest drivers get the fastest cars. How bout going by the preseason standings? Backwards? Driver with lowest points pick first and so on. Though problem with that is not everyone's competed in preseason, and some of the faster guys are actually in the lower section of the table (eg. Aizen).

Same goes to GT500. 15 cars divided by 30 drivers = Each car can only be chosen twice.

How about a mandatory qualifier to determine everyone's speed (live sessions)?

I think that the GT500 grid is mixed enough.
Cars:
Xanavi GT-R
Yellowhat GT-R
Autech GT-R
Calsonic GT-R
Petronas SC430
Eneos SC430
Dunlop SC430
Takata NSX
Arta NSX
Raybring NSX
Tom's Supra.

Cars that are not driven by any driver:
Clarion GT-R
Direzza SC430
Epson NSX
Yellowhat Supra

So I think that the GT500 grid is mixed enough.
It would also be really sad when someone has (perhaps) seved tunes for a lot of tracks, and then all of a sudden, that's worth nada..
As far as GT500 goes, I'd say: NO

I also think that we are to close to the "kick off" for changes that big..

But if you feel that you really want to do something about it, just assign the new drivers to a specific car. Most of us that have been around for the whole preseason would have a big setup-bank destryed in an instant.. no like.

Well, it's not really for diversity (car color) per say... if you look at it, the Xanavi GTR seems to be the most popular car
for GT500. I think 4 drivers drove it in the last race in Le Mans? The idea with my proposal is that it will promote a much
more competitive field by giving the slower guys the faster cars (in theory - at least based on most of our testing/feedback)
and vice versa to the faster guys.

I understand what you are thinking.. But how will you/we decide who is fast and who is less fast..?

Btw, All cars are actually wery even around suzuka... Have actually just tested almost (not the epson NSX or the Direzza SC430) all of them at Suzuka. The only one that was to fast was the already banned Z, and the cars that was to slow was the yellowhat supra, and the clarion GT-R. Have not yet tryed the EPSON and Direzza..

I can post my results when I'm done with all cars if you are interested?

A qualifier perhaps? Similar to WRS. But through live sessions.

Driver goes out on track (Monaco - full of barriers so cutting is impossible).
He is given 8 laps.
We Count the 4 fastest laps.
We combine (or average) those 4 laps, and that will be your time.

And what will that time say?

That time will indicate how fast you are...

Best 4 lap average out of 8 laps.

Driver 1 - 1'25.400
Driver 2 - 1'25.200
Driver 3 - 1'25.000

so on and so forth...

And if you are fast, you'll recieve a slower car?

Don't think that will work...

No. You're the last one to pick a car.

Although there's an obvious loophole... you can just cruise around and be the slowest lol

Btw, When testing the cars, i came to the conclution that the Yellowhat Supra can do enginr upgrade 3, and then it will reach 525hp, which mekes the supra pull similar laptimes as the other cars.

So I,d say that you should give that some tought.

But if you want to, I can post my tests later this week since I got a few more cars to try out.
