PSN is requiring me to change my password through an email. The link they provided to change my password takes me to a site stating "The server is currently down for maintenance"

I'd love to race but can't get online. Sorry guys

is it possible you could creat a new account, temporarily, and have somone send you through a car to use?

it's just an idea and it's long winded, i know.

Same thing happened to me, tried it 30 mins later and it worked. Try a few more times, seems to be just another one in a long series of Sony glitches.

Hey Denilson. Once the session started I kept getting weird prompts. Like the "Race starts in -" message flashing on and off. I tried to go on and do the lap but had no idea if you could see me or not. Then it just got too bad, I couldn't drive with it like that.

Since it's deadline pretty much I'll just bow out and ask to be put on the waiter list.

No biggie since I didn't get to practice as much as I would've liked so I'll just take it to raceday.

I appreciate you waiting up for me and all 👍. Let me know what's up.

Well, we clearly still got some issues with PSN.

Wardez, I knew something was wrong with your session, but did not want to interuppt in case you were doing fine.

SteelToedSloth: I've been sitting in front of my screen for 5 hours now, and it's 3 am here. So I'm going to bed. Hope you understand.
If you get your PSN up and running, I give you and Wardez the opportunity to meet up and spectate eachothers laps. Or, if you could fins someone else who can. I know OwensRacing is on-line.. But probably running some series..

I think it's only fair, since major PSN issues is not something that we have any rules regarding. I'm absoluteley positive that all others feels the same way. So go ahead and arrange a quali. Just make sure to post the times as soon as you're done.

Would be great with a some what fast response to this post from both of you. Thanks.

Denilson, can you please update the quali sheet with my time when you get a chance, not seeing my name on the sheet, yet. Can't remember exactly what my time was, somewhere in the low 6:3x's. I can check the replay if needed. Thanks.

UPDATE: it's now there, thanks!

The start line for the race tomorrow will be the same one as we started our quali from. When the pole car pass the last lefthander prior the sector marking where we start, he can start the race. So somewhere between the last lefthander prior the startline and the startline is where the start will take place. It's up to the pole keeper as usual to decide exactly when the green flag goes.

As it looks for now, we'll be running 1 room. Procedure: GT300's will start 5 minutes ahead of the GT500 pack. This is a long race, and since we want final times for as many drivers as possible, this is the way to do it.

Overtaking, lapping cars: This track is very narrow at a lot of places and racing behind a slower car can be frustrating. And when it's not narrow, it turns... Respect eachother and be careful when passing. If a GT500 is behind a GT300, the 500 driver have to realize that it can take quite some time to find a good enough opportunity to pass. Don't rush it. It will only send both of you in to the pits, and a lot of time lost. The track is named "Grune Holle" ("The green hell") for a reason. Add the dark and possible rain to this equation and you'll soon understand the level of skill it takes to complete this race. Penalties for causing accidents will be very strict for this one.
Concistancy and race craft will lead to points in this one, that's for sure.

HOST: I can't host tomorrow. I got some stuff I need to take care of. I'll probably not come in to the room earlier than 5 minutes prior the start. But I will be there. If I notice that I'll be 5 minutes late or something, I'll post here if that's the case. And I kindly ask you guys to wait for me.
So we need a host for tomorrows race that can open up the room at connect time.
Who will it be?

OwensRacing will host tomorows race. 👍

Btw: Did you speak to Wardez or SteelToedSloth about my previous post regarding quali?

I will be on GT5 till 12:30-1am EST if either needs to qualify just post here tearoom number and I will join in.

;)

I think the kind thing to do here for the gt300 is to let pass the gt500.. if you let go the gas for 1 sec you wont lose 1 sec.. you will lose a fraction of a sec.. a faster car that follow a slower car apart from being frustrating, its dengerous.. the gt500 guy will try to pass ase soon as possible so he will stay right behind you, puting pressure on the gt300 and on itself..

my two cents.

For the gt500 vs gt500 battle.. or gt300 vs gt300 battle.. you don't have to be kind. Put as much pressure as you can ;).

The smart one's will win this one.

Yep, true that. 👍

Ofc, racing is racing. No doubt about that.

I was mainly thinking of the situations where 2 cars from different classes are close to eachother.
If you race for position I can't see any reason not to fight for it. Unless you get a lot of pressure upon you from the faster guy. Then, it might be smarter (as you say) to let the faster car by and try to stay in its slip stream.

Also, if you use a view wher you don't got any mirrors (hood, chase cam), make sure to scale down your map to 2 ( or similar), in that case, you'll be able to see if someone is closing in on you.

Looking much forward to the race. :)

I've not heard anything about Wardez or Steel doing quali, so I asume they just want a spot on the waiting list. I'll go update the OP.

I will almost certainly be able to make the race tonight now, so looking forward to it! :D - No spinning in the race and I might be able to hold onto Aderrrm, but I doubt it, his pace is stupid here - but the most consistent driver will be the one to win, no doubt about it. Can't wait! 👍

Hi,

I have read somewhere (cant remeber) than the private lobby is almost or the same as the public lobby now....

However there has been a bug fix.

BUG FIX!!!! When You make a room, reset the track by changing to another, then back to right! And VOILA, tire wear and warmup is like in OPEN LOUNGE.

maybe someone cud test this? as this would help alot with random people jonning and putting pressure on the internet connection etc

Hi guys,
I'm sorry but I can't participate to the race tonight .. ;( I have too many commitments this week .... I'll be there for the next race!! Have a great fun this night! Good race to everyone! ;)

Sounds like it could be the solution to a lot of the problems we have with the randoms.

Pag, that's interesting info.

Love for private lounge and open lobby to be the same. Exactly.

Why gt5 thought it was smart to make three different types of physics for the game. I assume the online could be changed easy to be similar

Now if what Pag posted is indeed true. That will be very useful for leagues.

Just been trying that out with a Garaiya at Nurb GP/F, and it's true. Very similar lap times aswell. Basically, they've fixed it. :D

Edit: you don't have to do that reloading track thing either; it works straight away.

Night racing is gonna to be extra hard today with the race starting at 4PM local time - gonna be broad daylight out, sunshine and all :yuck: ... silly timezones, why can't the Earth be flat dammit :D

So tires are coming to temps at the same rate as open lobby. That's the biggy. Tires stayed cold way longer before in private lounge.

hmmm yes this is very interesting.... if it is true and tyre temps/grip is the same shall we use private lobby instead of public.

Guys at what time do we go green?
I might be late have to head out to the airport and run back, I should be back home at about 3:15 US EST. Sorry if I don't make it to the grid, this came up last minute.
