Interesting discussion...I was watching British Touring Car racing yesterday and while I don't remember the track, there was a section that all cars were going over the curb into a runoff area. I'd never seen that before in a race, I mean they were 9 feet on the wrong side of the curb.

It is hard to run a very fast time at 'Seca and not run wide, so the rule should stay as it is for now, but I don't have a problem with it being revisited for future races.

at silverstone the touring cars run wide at turn 1, its very strange as they dont seem to go that much or at all faster....

Wider you can go out of the corner, more speed you're taking with you.

So I would say they're going faster.

They do this at Knockhill, they actually push the tyre wall out of the way in order to use the full extent of the kerb, seen it many a time - and not just touring cars.

I've also raced at circuits (Le Mans 24hr, Karting) where the agreed racing line was involving four wheels over a kerb lap after lap. So, even in real life I don't see a problem with it.

Spend nearly half a hour hotlapping now and getting sick of it so this time will have to do :S

LOL!! My best lap is 1:17.847 :D

And I agree. It can be done in a really low 1:17.. But 1:16's as we discussed earlier feels kind of tough to reach, yet not impossible.. or... :)

yes physics would suggest that however it was 50% of the touring car drivers that did it and the lap times werent faster, maybe because of less of grip as going off track.

I know a there are a few tracks and the touring cars do the same but it all depends on how the driver feels....

Like me on the fuji track, some people go wide on the last corner to get more momentum and some do it very well but i find it harder to go wide, alot more wheel spin and unstable rear when going wide off the track.

I am practicing on Hard race tyres in an online lobby right now and fine tuning the car to suit "online physics" and i must say i am pretty happy with the results so far hehehe.

lol why not 17.849 !!! :P

And ye there is definately room for more, maybe even 16 high but would need perhaps more setup tweaking and most of all.........a better lap !
But can't be arsed ;)

I'll post my setup when this bob finishes 20 laps around indy.
Not a easy setup to go really fast with, needs precise input and the rear is sortof loose but me likes :)

Need some good adjustments for online racing with Hards though.

This circuit is driving me up the wall. What setup was used to get a 1'17"xxx?

Going through the corkscrew, what are you all doing to keep the car in shape? If I go diving over the hill to the inside I spin more often than not. If I stay to the outside I do better but it seems like it might be a bit slower and doesn't set me up correctly for turn 9.

If it matters I'm racing the Arta in GT300. My best lap has been 1:25.xxx

Oilchange and a broken in engine is within the regulations. Fitting any parts to your car is NOT allowed. Adjust suspention, aero, gear ratios is allowed.

I suggest you take some time to read the initial post to make sure you understand all the rules and regulations. Something to really pay attention to is the startprecedure.👍

To upload a video on YT you need a capturecard, or just use a handycam infront of the TV. There is no other way.

yes ive read the rules but i saw a few posts about the nismo z being too quick so i thought to keep people happy i wont oil change however if people are happy for it il do it for the race (if i get in lol)

oh so you just record your tv for youtube ahhh didnt know il just keep the rar file for now.

for qualifying can race soft tyres be used or is it subject to the same rules and regulations as the race?

Ok, as for the 2 wheels on track rule. Personally, i think we should keep it the way it is right now. I used to race in WRS and it wasn't much of an issue at all, although there were some instances where you just can't comprehend how someone did 'it' without losing any time. We should keep the rules as simple as possible as it is our first season.

Anyway, haven't got much practice time, but ive already got a lap saved up. I think i can still get it down and break 1'22's with the Lexus Wedsdsports. Just need more tuning. Great lap by the way El_Alien, talk about using the whole track :)

P.S. To the new guys, remember, you can only submit an official quali lap, once! You can take your time, but if your a little ancy, then post you shall :)

AHH bugger i think i did my lap on softs as i didnt see any rules about tyres for quali.

Sorry guys i hvnt got enough time to put another lap in at mo, il try do it later.... sorry

Try short shifting and make sure you keep the wheel as straight as possible as you go downhill. Hows your tune look like?

We use Racing Softs in Quali.

here are my official qualifying lap. i have a bit of fever so i have only done 15 laps on the circuit. i think if i did some more laps and a bit of tuning 1.22.0 is posible.

What's up with the disappearing brake markers at Laguna?

When you start a practice session, you start from just before the last turn, and there are 4 braking markers on the right. Next time you get there, markers 2 and 1 are gone!
Does this happen only to me? :)
