Worst you've dealt with online...

I'm sort of getting bored of GT. All I do now is buy cars and test them out at the Nurburgring. The morons online certainly are not helping. People buy this game, and have no concept of what motorsports is all about. The days of online racing in GT5P where heaven compared to this crap. I'm starting to save up to buy a real 240SX or 180SX or miata and take this hobby of mine to the next level.

Online race on Monza with 600bhp cars. 12 laps. Starting my last lap in 2nd place - flying down the long start straight when I see the guy in 1st place going slow up ahead on the far left hand side of the straight. I fly past him on the far right (about 4 car widths away) only to see him come right across and bash me of causing me to spin. I quit the room right there and then. Hate that.

But last night was the worst. Top Gear test track room - just a play around trying to ignore the 11 year olds on headsets talking rubbish, when they started making racist comments to the foreign players in the room. Then the host started kicking all 'stupid foreigners' (as he called them) out of the room when they joined. Just awful.

Anyone with a X1/FGT online. Especially X1, noone can drive it, all got it from trading so all they do is bumping/driving in the wrong direction, runing the fun completely.

X1 should be banned from anything but pure X1-rooms.
Same with FGT.

Some of these stories are hilarious. Thanks for sharing.

I'll never experience this stuff because I only play with my friends from another forum. That said, I wish there was a way to password protect your lobby. I usually just boot anyone I don't know but I shouldn't have to do that.

If you're racing with friends (on your friend list, I assume), then why not create a lounge via community tab. That way, only people on your friends list can join the room.

I met this guy online who raced in a massively over-powered car (room without restrictions) to my Zonda (I hate it when I have to use that thing, when there's no restrictions).

He broke about 5 yards too early for the first corner and I broke about 5 yards too late so I ended up running in to the back of him and making him go wide - not even off the track, so he lost about a second. When he got close to me he would ram me, and at the final turn on the last lap (Laguna Seca), he didn't brake and just went straight on. He would've hit me but I turned the wrong way leaving him to drive into the wall and just drove the last 200m laughing.

After the race he we accused each other of ramming and he said that if he gets rammed (pushed slightly wide in this case) he has to take you out to make sure you don't ram him again if he gets past. I thought it was a pretty stupid reason but he was convinced it was right.

Some people really make me laugh:rolleyes:

The correct thing to do, would have been to wait and let him gain the place back after hitting him from behind.

This idiot said that brown people cannot race, hence why Indian people can't compete in F1.

During the race I argued with him that if they can't compete why do they have their own team, not just drivers, competing in F1.

He went on to say that doesn't mean they are good.

I replied good or not, at least they can say we tried our hand at F1 instead of sitting on our asses and claiming who can and who can't make it in F1.

And for good measure, after the race, which I won by the way, I revealed to him that I'm Indian and bid him a good day.:)

My friend could not stop crying from the laughter.

Laughing my 🤬 off!

I'm from the Maldives, your next door neighbours. Pretty hilarious how some people think that skin colour affects your pace:lol:

Joined a server that said "SUPER GT." Turned out, that no one had a Super GT car, except for 2 people (including me). Race started, first corner, got PITed and right after I spun, was hit by a 458 Italia going the wrong way. :/ Also, find it really annoying having Red Bull X2010's joining drift servers...

In a room called 'Nascar Racing Clean'

Room Owner shoves me sideways. Get a clean bump from the guy behind. Get into first. 200 yards from the line, he jerks his car left and I end up upside down over the line. Just ridiculous I realise its the last lap of Daytona but its meant to be 'Nascar Racing Clean.'

I have to say NASCAR rooms are notorious for this, I've been to a few that say "NASCAR clean" and they were anything but.

wow, i finally found a good room online, 6 clean races in a row. that's a first for me :)

My NASCAR Race: 100 Laps at Daytona might interest you then. It's at the very bottom of page 1 in the online racing thread.

Anyways, a while ago I opened a Lupo Cup room and a Mexican dude enters with an RX-7. Not really bad but this kind of stuff irritates me, like the time I opened a GT300 room and people entered with nothing but.

A lot of things need to be improved online. One of them is the penalty system. How can cutting out the whole last corner of trial mountain not be considered a penalty?
There also has to be an option included for a restriction put on racing modified/racing cars. Everyone racing production cars would make the racing a lot closer.

I feel like the only way to ensure a clean room is to group up with a few racers you know to be clean, especially if they have mics. That way, when drivers join that you aren't sure of, you know that everyone that you are used to will have your back if anyone isn't being clean. Also, a no-nonsense room host can make a world of difference.

What I see online

30% drag/Nascar servers
10% cruise servers
20% regulations that suit the host
30% the connection is terrible
10% Genuine well moderated racing with headsets

Or joining a room where the host clearly says -- and types -- that we'll be racing 4 and 5-door cars. If someone can or does not comply, they would have to leave or be kicked. Then, having people hopping into Preludes, '05 Golfs, and Speedsters, etc., or asking if they can use an S2000. Really? Really?

I blame budget cuts to the American school system, rap music, and cutting Katy Perry from Sesame Street. 1 door. Muahahah. 2 doors. Muahahah. 3 doors. Muahahah. 4 doors. Muahahah. 5 doors. Muahahah.

Wow this was an entertaining read. Its been a while since it was visited so I tender the following question:

Now that GT5 is getting a bit older, are people finding that bad behaviour in online racing lobbies is becoming a rarer thing since those most likely to offend may have grown bored of GT5 and moved on to the next thing like Killzone?

Is clean racing online easier now than it might have been a month ago?

Clean racing is a bit more prevalent I would say, but the A-holes are still out there. I was recently in a Nurburgring room with regs to suit the host, every car I had setup didn't really match so I was a little slower, however my driving made up for it and I was still holding my own. Then we get to the first "straightaway" section on the Nordscheleife and some prick in a SuperGT Yellowhat GTR comes up behind me and starts screaming on his mic for me to get out of the way, waits about 2 seconds and then dumps me into the wall and calls me dirty and clueless. I had beaten this guy last race so I am wondering why he suddenly thinks that because he can catch up to me on a straightaway that I should just move over for him and let him pass.

In the end I may have been nicer about it, heck even apologize if he wasn't such a douche. I even told him that at the end, right before the host (his buddy) kicked me.

We've lost the kids and clueless people somewhat and now we have to deal with the "pros".

Race starts, especially at the Nurburgring since everyone seems to plow into each other at the start. I like to hold back.

When I create a room sometimes I can be very strict on behaviour, if I see someone hassling another player by either driving into them or deliberately sitting up their arse without passing, I hit the kick button. :)

Some guy got onto his headset while I was mucking about with friends and started meaninglessly insulting me. He was obviously pretty stupid as I was host and so made sure his time in the lobby was short and sour :)

Whats the problem with

Why would anyone host a room that didn't suit them? :dunce:

Sometimes I set up rooms to suit some of my lower-powered cars like my completely stock 135i. No one ever joins. All the rooms are in the 400-500 HP range and no one joins rooms with lower limits.

What's pp range and the usual room restrictions?

Just over 300 HP, no mics. Not sure otherwise.

Long story behind the no mics one. Suffice it to say, I don't have a headset and most of the mic people I can hear are swearing their heads off or making stupid comments anyway.

yeh

I'm not the best driver ever, but i try to be clean. If I make a mistake and benefit from it, i'll wait. Clean racing makes me feel like a real (but poor) driver instead of someone who plays video games. I recommend it to everybody!

I had a good race today. I joined a room with 2 people and after a few races, it was full with decent, clean drivers. Perhaps i accidentally crashed a meet-up...
