Soooo... nerd rage w/ death threats and racial slurs over a video game good? LOL. And then you question my "honour" and joke about whether or not I like kicking cripples? Don't quite get the connection between trolling GT5 and kicking cripples but harsh words to say the least.

The terror continues??? Part II on GTP forums.

EDIT:
Actually I got a lot to say about this... was just gonna let it slide and move on but it's too absurd to just let go. The people in my situation above put themselves through it. Nobody was forcing them to stick around in a room with an obviously over-bored gamer who just can't sleep. They could've just left and joined the other lobbies that were open then and there was quite a few believe it or not. But nope... they stayed logged in with their cars and did nothing but add to their own frustrations. It's interesting arguement because the people involved had just as much freedom to leave as they did to stay, and I told them this over and over... so from this perspective I couldn't stop laughing and they just couldn't help themselves. It really says more about those people than it does me.

These are the kind of people that walk the streets everyday among us in society... frustrated people who if given the chance would phyiscally harm or even kill/smite someone over actions in a video game. It's even more sickening that they put themselves through it even though the option to leave was always there. It's kind of alarming. Nerd rage is a hell of a drug.

I think absurd is a great word for it. I can understand that it would be pretty funny and entertaining to wind them up about it and watch them get angrier and angrier but it just exacerbates the problem. Quite to the contrary of what you say I don't think for a second that 99.9% of people would be physically violent, it's pretty easy for them to make threats of violence etc. through their headset behind the cover of internet anonymity and that right there is the problem. Winding them up just makes them more likely to keep going like that, and probably escalate as well.

Be part of the solution dude, not the problem! :)

Well no fella, youre missing the point. You had 13 other people minding their own business playing the game, and you show up with your particularly obnoxious brand of self-righteousness and make a pain of yourself. You say they could have left anytime and yes they could have, and indeed you say you pointed this out to them but the question you gotta ask yourself is this:

Why should they have to change rooms because some internet legend decided to ruin theirs?

Unfortunately I have to agree with you mate, I am an aussie but I have been living in the UK for almost 7 years now, so I show up as UK online obviously. I get all sorts of abuse about being a brit and it almost always comes from Australians, I cant be bothered replying to any of it because there really is no point so I just get on with it. But the intolerance of outsiders displayed by my fellow Australians is, quite frankly, embarrassing.

I was racing maybe 6 or 7 Australians at Monza yesterday and was rammed off the track by some clown in a Ford GT, who then outbraked himself into the first chicane and I followed him in (stupid I know, my mistake). So he gets all uppity about it and him and his mate spend the remaining 4 laps bumping and ramming me off the track before booting me from the room. I suppose at least they had the decency to let me finish the race and get the $$ and XP.

Yeah I think it is easy for Brits to get a bad name because of the lag that there can be since our parts of the world are so far apart. People wrongly assume Brits are ramming when it is just a conflict of connections and the game thinks you are both in the same spot even though it looks like your not.

lol Internet legend, brilliant. Now that you've set the tone of the level of maturity in this conversation between you and me with irelevant name-calling... I retalliate; U R PooPy head!

Look, you're obviously a bald spot short of a Dr. Phil so I'm not really inclined to argue with your reasoning. I'm not in a position to tell these people what to do and I personally don't care. Not my room, not the host. That's not why I was there... I was there to crash the party and see what happens and what happened was pretty illegal in the states. Sure they can be mad at the things I do, but they can't control that... so why stick around, exactly? They did it to themselves and all I got out of it was a few laughs.

BUT the point you're not getting, guy, is that personal death threats is the worst I've ever gotten online. This thread isn't about arguing your flat line of sense but what exactly is the worst I've ever dealt with online... and this is it. Whether or not you don't like it is a moot point and probably considered spamming.

Well good luck to you then. Work away mate.👍

Guys... might be a bit late in the game, but maybe we should not feed the trolls.

Yeah, don´t feed death ;) He may be the next behind us swinging his glaive :D

Back 2 top, my worst moment was freerunning for my leagues race, and getting hit frontally from a kiddie joining my room. But as always, there´s solutions for all kinds of problems. In this case, kick the kid :)

I actually laughed at the above anecdote, the internet is where horrible people are, I accidently rear ended some guy last night and put him in the wall at SSR5 - I was laughing all the way to the finish line, he called me a nasty rammer, I cried a little.

If I hit someone on accident, I will wait for them to recover and get back going again where I was even if I have to lose a few places. Some people ram accidentally and some ram "accidentally" at the last turn before the finish. I've got more money/exp than I really need so I pop out and kick 'em before they get to the finish.

This will make you LOL

I was online at the Top Gear Track and this guy (the host) in free run started challenging people to 1 lap races. he drove forward 20 foot in his GTR LM, reversed and said "I win". I got bored of it... and it was irritating...

So I got my Jay Leno Tank Car out and smashed into him twice at Hammerhead as payback. He then kicked me, but I didn't care, bit of Karmic Retribution there...

few weeks ago, I joined a server at suzuka (only the host was there).

When I get into the room, this guy immediatly wrote down "no noobs, get out"

i replied "Im not that bad"
he "you got no clan tag" "xxx" (he made two messages, in the second one it looks like he sweared)
i "Ill give you the answear on track"

He changed the server settings and so we were using the Calsonic Impul GT-R 08 without any driver aids and race/hards.

Ok, now things got worse:
I humilated that guy. A 5 Lap race around the normal Suzuka circuit and I lapped him in the same car because that idiot made tons of mistakes.

After the race I replied "oh, looks like that Im not such a noob"
he "lucker"

Then he changed some settings, but alot of settings, like tires and track suzuka with weather etc.
The bad thing: I noticed to late that he allowed skid redovery force and turned boost to strong (Ok, It doesn`t changes everything, I never use SRF).

Ok we raced again, it was now closer and he made 0 mistakes thanks to skid redovery force. You know what happend at the last lap? Before that lap, I had a decent lead, 5 seconds or something like that.
Then after spoon, heading to the 130R this guy appeared in my rear mirror, bumped me and made me crash in the 130R. Ok, sounds bad right? But it got very funny.
This guy crashed at the last chicane. So I recovered quickly and won the race eventhough he was using SRF, got boosted heavily and crashed me out of the race.

I immediatly wrote down:
"Haha... miserable failure"
He replied "noob" (edit: I think he was replying noob/newbie or sweared again) and kicked me.

I also noticed that such idiots are always swearing, no matter what ur saying.

Isn't there a User filter on a Lobby? If there isn't, there ought to be...

Then, when Deathsarthe BRAGS about being a douchebag, you simply put his name into the 'banned users' list, and he can't join any race that doesn't encourage feminine freshness... :sly:

Problem solved... 💡

Something online REALLY needs is a one button 'Mute ALL mikes' command. And a volume control, for when you DO want to listen to someone, but their mike is too loud.

stage 7 200 lap out of bound glitch, all the fake 40s with every car and STILL cant drive. all you tuners are gonna have your hands full when these dweeb losers have it all and need big time tunes

Uh, what? If they have no driving ability, how is a tune going to help with that?

This is what angers me the most about GT5 online players.

I go online and find an unrestricted room. The host has a slow car, probably because he hasn't gained enough experience yet and was not gifted a fast car. Me being the experience person I am, brings out my Le Mans car (Mostly XJR-9 LM Race Car '88) and despite fairly winning a race, instead of the room host at least restricting the game to suit them, they get butthurt and kicks me out.

Sorry but if you're not going to set restrictions and you don't have a very fast car, you can expect a more experience player to overpower you. Kicking the person out because of that instead of changing regulation (Which I would deal with either changing my car or leaving without whining, as there's always other rooms) does not make you mature, it makes you look like an immature kid who can't stand not having his way.

shouldnt you use your common sense and use a slow car to make the race fair. no one ever joins rooms with low hp limits.

Some noob in a power restricted veyron ran my 330 P4 off the road when i was trying to make an inside pass on monza.. and shot it into the weeds.. My car was quicker and it was going for the lead..

Actually most annoying thing ive had happen was i was just driving along with my SLS at daytona letting it stretch its legs because i hadnt taken it out in a long time.. Then the guy in the FGT that had been taking everyone else out came up on its back bumper and PIT manuevered it (on purpose) into the grass/interior wall at 180 mph.. I got pretty pissed off cuz my SLS is one of my favorite cars to drive.. So i wenf back.. Got my X1.. and returned the favor

I met some rammers in a room, calling me a "Paki n00b" and "Brown-skinned idiot who cannot drive", each taking turns to put me into the wall.

So, I pulled out my uber-secret superweapon:
nrburgringnordschleife6.jpg

Used all my master maneuvering techniques to avoid them noobs, thus winning the "race" by 4 seconds:D

The rammers left on their own, their arses handed over to them.

I agree, its just as douchey to join a room that everyones in a low HP street car so you bring out your guided missile and destroy everyone. Its like an adult punching a kid and stealing his candy on the playground.

You think you're teaching the host a lesson but in reality you're just being a dick.

oh and another thing... was in a lobby with a 697 pp limit for the race.. room host had a 908.. however i saw that the R10 slid under the limit without detuning... there was also a veyron noob in there too..

on the actual race i get a false start penalty so the Veyron gets ahead.. my R10 tho is very well tuned so it pulled him right back in inside two turns.. he musta seen the R10 hauling tail on him because he completely cut the second corner on La Sarthe and the one before the mulsanne and then got hammered with a nasty shortcut penalty.. so he ghosted and the R10 drove right by him and never looked back.. i cut the second corner a bit but only because i realized my R10 had a bad gearing setting (only capable of 197 mph) that i thought at the time was going to allow the 908 behind me to pull it right back in on the straights... but nope my car won by over 9 seconds.. of course the host didnt like this and lowered the PP of the race to 610 to make sure the R10 was firmly junked.. so i switched to the 330 P4.. and the Veyron noob cut it off as described in the above post.. i intend to race more now.. should be entertaining

I would really like to play this game but I just can't deal with how much it wastes my time anymore. I've been playing NASCAR as it seems the least likely to waste my whole evening without me ever having a good time. It can be good when it's good, but it's such a mess.

I'm an overly respectful and cautious player yet I get kick-banned by hosts at least once a night.

The game doesn't know how much fuel to give me to the end of the race.

I sometimes can't see other players on track - so I think I'm driving a clean race, but in some other dimension there's 3 other people trying to race me and I'm smashing them off the track like a bowling ball.

Black screen freeze - Players have actually figured out that you need to get everyone in the pits to avoid the black screen failure. This is useful, so why is it up to players to discover this, and try to manage the problem?

Combine all this with the usual racism, carelessness, difficulty in communicating, network problems and slowness, lag etc.. and the need for a group of random online gamers to behave respectfully towards each other, and it's not easy to have fun...

👍

Your behaviour is just called something like "gentlemen´s behaviour" and has to be at least to be done by everyone..

I would like a filter to be able to search for lobbies with maximum damage and maximum penalties enabled, no boost. Odds are, those are ALL serious racer lobbies.

Right now, it's a crapshoot...
