It's true most of the private clubs & leagues I've interacted with the people, I've seen very little issue about gender in particular as relevant. There are many modern men to be found playing GT5. I think the cavemen throwback kooks are the minority. And that often if someone's rude toward a woman - they're likely actually rude toward anyone and everyone because that's just their character.

Haha, who said we weren't cavemen throwback kooks? :sly: We just know when to turn it on and off:idea:💡 I wish there were more women racers in GT5..it would add a whole new element to the forums and racing:sly:

I doubt that. Here at GTPlanet, I feel pretty much as if I'm on a forum with a bunch of women. Not much difference. :sly: :odd:

Got kicked for tandeming too close to the host today. Apparently he got nervous and cracked under pressure... causing him to spin out and slam into a wall.

I have heard of this a lot... and I attribute this sort of thing to lag issues that only one person experiences the contact.

I remember seeing my spouse get kicked from a room after just such a scenario - I'd watched the race and it was clean, and nothing unsporting or devious was done to warrant someone getting bent out of shape. There was no contact and it looked like the guy took himself out somehow.

But last year, we had one race (club/organized), where several different people saw different versions of events in a race incident.
One person felt contact and attributed their car losing control to that contact.
The accused party claimed there was no contact.
Another person saw contact, and thought the following car was clearly at fault.
Another person viewing the replay just saw one car losing control on its own, with another car nearby, who was admittedly sloppy, but did not see or hear any contact.
Another person (me) saw no contact during that incident, but saw the aggrieved party's car jumping up airborne in another part of the race.

I concluded that sometimes, because of lag, one person actually does have their car react to contact that never is perceived by the offender.

And it makes for many misunderstandings in races, particularly in pub lobbies - but even in stewarded private races sometimes.

You have to quote me when you say that?...lol... :banghead::banghead::mad:🤬

Don't encourage her, you don't know what kind of monster you're creating:D

I once dated a girl named Penelope,
Together we committed a felony,
One day we stole a car,
But we didn't get very far,
'Cause I dumped her for a girl named Melanie:)

Sorry Punch, I don't know anything that rhymes with Watermelon:dopey:

I hate the people in drag racing rooms at Indy where they think its funny to ram into where you line up HOW IS IT FUNNY :( :(

Or the people in drag rooms at Indy that think it is a full 1/4 mile. Hahahaha it is quite funny.

Most of the drag rooms in went into after Christmas when i got my G27 people in there accused me of e-cheating because i would ride the clutch on take off and through the gears. After that I continued to get accused of that so I just ended up saying forget dragging period.

Pmsl, you brightened an otherwise dreary day :)

Something happened to me a month ago when i joined a Nordschliefe limited hp room with a pretty decent weight limit and strictly no racecars. Everyone was in road cars but 2 guys went in with rally cars. I went in with a Pagani that barely dodged the limit and we started... which is good if the host kicked the rally cars beforehand. He didn't.

I came from second last to 2nd in a blink of an eye, with an NSX close ahead. After the 1st turn it looked like everyone just piled up having some sort of party in the sand except me and the NSX (no idea how). The host proceeds to kick some racers to oblivion..

Even me and Mr.NSX. And we didn't even trade paint at all.

 Bad hosts with bad players as usual. What were you driving anyway?

Today in shuffle, me, as host, Nurb 24hrs change weather change time, track 30% wet, daytime, 340pp shuffle base, ratio 3
Guy behind me just can't seem to pass - probably my car was just a bit faster straight-line. He keeps up with me, beeping constantly. Especially near brake points. :boggled:
Finally, bumps me, bump-passes me at a hard turn & keeps going like he didn't knock me into the sand like it never happened, and I hear him beeping at the next car ahead of him already!
I kick him.
He sends a message on PSN: "What did I do to p%#$ you off?"

So it works both ways sometimes. Sometimes people don't know why they're kicked because there's some misunderstanding or perhaps no reason at all. :grumpy:
Or sometimes people don't know why they're kicked because they're just clueless. :dunce:

Or lag

Yes, yes, lag I put under "misunderstanding". I stated earlier in the thread, I think a lot of misunderstandings happen because of lag.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8177132#post8177132

Or do you mean some people kick people, without saying anything to explain, because they're lagging?

I usually tell someone who's lagging to leave & rejoin & see if it corrects. (Sometimes it does.)
I would only kick them if they refused to leave to try rejoining.
(Edit: I suppose some people don't have any patience to bother, and find it more expedient to just kick someone.)

Took one of those Honda BEATs from the OCD and tuned it today, then took it to a cops lobby. I swear, if you take a tiny little underpowered car, you get one of 3 reactions;
1. Everybody follows you around in shock and awe that you've taken a car with *only* 160BHP.
2. Someone in a faster car immediately assumes that you're going too slow and need a boost (granted on SSRX or Le Mans no chicanes, but London?).
3. They feel a sudden urge to sandwich your car into a wall.

I got option 3 today.

I usually get all three, but its great fun when you are faster at the Nurburgring in a heavily tuned Prius, then others in much faster cars. The problem with this game is that people think faster equals better. I love cars like the Fiat 500, 2CV, Subaru 360, Daihatsu Midget, most k-cars and all other small fun cars. I think 70% of my garage is under 300bhp.

Whats not to love :

I once gave a player a drag race, he was using a premium civic while I was in the beetle 1200 DLC. I think he was surprised when I beat him off the line, he only managed to get past once my car hit 100mph

Some hosts think: oh yea im teh host! ill kik race winnerz and then ill be ze ultamite king!!!!11!!oneone!!1!

Translated: Oh yeah, I'm the host! I'll kick race winners and then I'll be the ultimate king!!

There are too many of them...

I liked hybrids but now they are annoying me. After the permaborrow app and HP multiplier tutorial release hybrids are increased very much. Every room just full of them! I am now going ragequit and stay offline or go online and ruin every drivers day. :grumpy:

That's weird. Everybody keeps meeting hybrid drivers in online lobbies but I haven't met any (yet :P).

go online and ruin every drivers day. :grumpy:

Welcome to the future:sly:

Personally for me that's the past.:sly:

I stopped using public lobbies because of the original hybrid (X-10's driven by 10 year olds).. Ever since I joined a private racing league, with members that can be trusted. I have had nothing but great experiences.:)👍

I honestly think that is the future.:) Remember the future is what you make it.👍

I do a lot of private racing, and recommend it highly.
However it is nice to have more options, I say.

What kind of online lobbies do you go into?
I usually go into racing lobbies.
How do you know there are not any hybrids for sure?
I've never seen a car that's faster than normal.
I will choose the Offline option. Honda S2K and the "Ring" will calm me down.
Befriend me on PSN. I'm known as ntinoskonsta and I try to be as clean as possible*.

*Unfortunately, I hold the record for the worst connection ever. I am 5m away from a player on my screen while on their screen, I'm ramming them and sending them into the kitty litter. As a result, I get called a dirty 🤬 after the race. Which I'm not. :grumpy:

Well I go into racing lobbies too... Usually SHUFFLE! Won't see a hybrid there I imagine! :dopey:

What kind of racing lobbies??? I'm betting a 400pp racing lobby is less likely to attract hybrid cheaters than a 550pp racing lobby.
See what I mean?

And as for not seeing a car that's faster than normal... What about that video posted by that Mike guy?
The cheater wasn't really faster than normal. He didn't win! He wasn't putting full throttle. Plus he was a lousy driver.
I could easily imagine that several people in that room simply thought he had a decent car but was just a sloppy dirty driver. :yuck:
What if the guy was a good driver? 💡

I often join a lobby called "change pp hp track", hosted by an Aussie. The PP limit ranges from 320 to 650. Lag is the only bad thing in that room. We've got many regulars. And I believe they don't even know about hybrids.

As for the video, I don't know about it.

Yeah, it's clear that the guy had a hybrid. He accelerated much faster than the others off the line while barely pressing the throttle pedal.

Hybrids are still out of my sight online. Lady Luck must love me. :sly:

But would you have noticed that if you had not been watching the replay (to see the throttle) and only spent about 10 seconds near the guy the whole race?
