Yeah what is this thing with the honking? It's like people don't even think about that as being dirty. But it's super dirty.
I had that happen the other day. But moreover, I once had multiple people doing that in an organized GTPlanet race last year. :boggled: I watched this one replay and no matter who I clicked on I could hear horns beeping throughout the whole race all over the grid. There had to be at least half the racers leaning on their horns. It was madness. It's like it's contagious or something. :boggled:
Of course on a couple of occasions I've heard of people mapping their horn button on the ds3 inappropriately so they wind up leaning on the horn every time they're shifting or braking or whatever it happens to be.

That reminds me of the girl gamer thread. :dopey:
Silly that normal people interacting have to worry about that.

Some people I race with use the horn to simulate the light flashing (which in real life signals you to move over and let the other driver pass).

That's different. 1 or 2 short beeps is sufficient. I'm talking about people laying on the horn or beeping 6-8 times at a stretch. Or a car following another car beeping every brake point to try & distract the ahead driver into braking poorly. That sort of thing.

And on a straight - letting someone know you're coming up along side of them at a faster clip is one thing. (You know so there's room.)
But I don't think in a RACE people should just go around beeping at people ahead of them to LET them pass. They need to actually be able to pass, not bother someone into letting them pass just to not have to listen to their horn & be annoyed. That's dirty racing. And stupid.

Was I in that race?:ouch: I use the tank car horn on most of my cars...lol..it's the most fun:sly:

You know, I can't even remember the car we were in or who even was racing. It was on either Nurb F or D, one of them - because I remember watching the replay. I remember one guy had a gold chrome painted car (whatever car it was), and he brought up the amount of beeping going on - which I'd noticed some in the race (too much) - but not like he was describing. So I remember watching the replay from his point of view, and WHOA, he had 3 people around him beeping a lot - one that was beeping almost continuously for 2 laps straight. :boggled: May have been the person I found out later had their horn mapped to a bad button or something, but I don't remember.
I remember getting pretty strict for the weeks after that, about stressing sparing usage of horns, and threatening penalties to anyone excessively beeping.
I remember CC saying something like "people ought to map that horn button far away from your fingers if you even map it at all!"

So, I was in cops room driving my Lancia Stratos. Some nutcase in a Range Stormer kept running me off the road IN FRONT OF THE HOST! So i decide to drive my EVO III, and now another nutcase in a 'Vette decided It's ok to honk at me nonstop. I brake-check him, and get BOOOOOOOOTED, for one small incident. As for the Range Stormer nutcase, the host let him stay.:irked::grumpy::mad:

The nutcase wasn't in a yellow stormer was he?

and were they from the UK?

I feel sorry for all the Legit Tank Car and Range Stormer racers. must be shi77y to get kicked all the time

Honking like that is very annoying... I understand that if you use a DS3 and during a race you come uo to a sharp turn and push down while turning, but honking the whole time???

Yeah, I know, if it was accidental - you would think they'd do something about it since it must be annoying to them!
I would hate to drive around a track incessantly beeping!!

Hey Punch, remember this?
Me
Hybrids are still out of my sight online. Lady Luck must love me. :sly:
I saw a slammed Range Stormer Concept in a free run lobby yesterday. Its owner said that it could hit 222 mph.

On another note: Aren't you sick of R390's in street car lobbies?

 I knew it! So much for the mockingbird.
Well, this is the first you've known. I suspect it's just the first time anyone told you. :P
I have a suspicion in free run lobbies you'll find people much more eager to talk about their whacked car. :sly:

Why do idiots with Red Bulls find it necessary to bring their X2011s to DRIFT lobbies, set the best lap time, and then leave? Seriously. It's stupid, annoying, and serves zero purpose other than to make you (if you're the one doing it) look like a jack*ss. I set up a drift lobby which had unrestricted tire selection as a slight nod to a controversial thread a few months back. Horsepower was limited to around 1400 to keep the hybrids at bay and allow semi-realistic ones in. The lobby's going good and I went to get something to eat. About 10-15 mins pass and I come back and there's a 36 second lap on the screen -_- (we were at Autumn Ring mini)

One of the few things I enjoy driving because not many people HAVE one. One of my favorites at 600pp (along with the S2000 GT1 '04, if I am allowed to use it.)

Apparently... driving in the Alfa Romeo Carrazzota de Zagato automatically gives other players the right to push you off the track because of its diminutive size.

I'M KING OF THE ROAD!!!

Said no Kei car driver ever.

But that reminds me I really should try that Alfa. Used to own one but never drove it.

when im first in open lobby in a Race while driving a Road Car and Then a stupid Kid with Race Car is ramming me Out of the corner because he Thinks i have Super brakes jeezus....

I was driving driving my restored Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept car. Tuned to the max 986hp legit. I was in free run no bs just chill room at sarthe. Chilling just driving down the straits. Then a freaking audi r8 hybrid in lime green with a spoiler came and rammed me. He was going up I was going down. Why do people go up on a dam strait. That sounds like bs to me.

Open cruise lobby last night some idiot kid comes in an elventy million hp X2011 (exaggerated) and just starts ramming into everybody. The Host doesn't even bother to kick him because he gets just as bad in a hybrid r8 after the kid in the x2011 joins. Waste of time, was having a good time in that lobby until the kid came in <_<

My biggest issues with online racing are etiquette issues. People that insist on going 3 wide instead of pulling up to ghost. People that wait too long to ghost. People that keep out a dominant car. You know if you are beating everyone in the room, then take out a slightly slower car. And Hybrids...Lose with dignity people.

In a 70s and 80s 390 pop on nurburgring in 3rd place even after taking the first quarter of the 12 mile circuit on a phone call while I steered with one hand on my dfgt only to get rammed off half way around on a straight by a tuned 62 vwcamper van type thing...that was not fun as on the previous 4 races I had been wiped out in the opening sections and come last/second last each time..

Earlier tonight I got kicked from 3 chill/free roam rooms along with other players for no reason other then the hosts didn't like our nationality or that we didn't have mics.

In two of these rooms (with about 12 out of 16 players in them) I was kicked as soon as I joined?!

In one room, the host (probably about 12) was shouting at everybody to do exactly what he said ("line up there", "change your car", follow me") and kicking anybody who didn't follow his strict instructions.

Then, I find a room titled "English - no P4KIS" - wtf is wrong with people?!

Typical night online.

How does one get kicked from a dirty NASCAR Race? It happened to me.

I know one guy got kicked for driving backwards in a dirty lobby, but I don't know about your situation. Did you win/beat the host?

No, I was in 2nd when it happened. So I got kicked midrace. It just got to me. How do you get kicked, when its a dirty race? Also, I've become addicted to dirty NASCAR.

Yeah!

It always sucks when you're online, taking your kei car for a spin, just cruising, minding your own buisiness and almost all the other players seem to find in nessecery to either push you off of the tack or start pushing you from behind up to high speeds. And then there are those idiots with hacked cars, I know i'm in a free run room with no pp/hp limit, but they always ruin the room, they go so damn fast you can't see them coming and if you do, it's mostly too late to avoid them.. I hope these players get banned soon :grumpy:

And this is why I never join public lobbies anymore...

That's why i created my own league, most racers don't like the fact you drive low hp cars :(.

You drove cleanly? I dont know. How DOES one get from a dirty NASCAR race

I remember someone mentioning that there's a code among many doing dirty NASCAR. Like in some, you're supposed to try & take out the leader, and cooperate at the back. Or something like that.
Bottom line... there are still rules in DIRTY NASCAR - ie: there is still stuff that people agree upon as the parameters of play.

And this just demonstrates the difference between people who drive dirty in dirty rooms, and people who drive dirty in clean rooms.
