Yep. That's the truth. Plenty of drag racers on the straight and they're often going the wrong way, so you'd better be ready to predict what side of the road they're going to be on or get off the road entirely. Guess wrong and there is a massive head-on, especially now the multi-thousand horsepower hacks are now back in the game...

Time to blow some steam.

I was on a cop room at Monaco, the host is INSANELY racist; he says "Speak English or get kicked" when I ask why he replies "They're out to get us" which gives the reasoning that he is a colossal gentlmans-area. Me and another guy then start talking about JAGUAR and the new F-type and he says "That's just a rebodied BMW" I begin to burst out with laughter and ask if he's serious. He tells me to google it, I tell him to take his own advice and tell him Jaguar-Landrover is owned by Tata, he keeps on saying it isn't and that I'm just a kid (didn't even know my age...) and that he should know as "My dad owns two" I eventually just leave it as he's an idiot.

Later on he brings it up again when a person RAMS ME (not the other way round) for being "Too Slow" in a cops room. So they start with the spaced out insults and I just sarcastically reply "Would mummy let you say that?" They engage mics and apparently start shouting abuse at me. But I'm listening to my IPhones music so I can't hear, they say "What do you say to that you alternate word for a down-below?" And I reply "Huh..?" So they start typing more abuse to me.

Never again am I going into a room this guy hosts.

Yeah, and then it's YOUR fault for going the right way...

It wasn't actually that bad. Only about four or five other people, and none of them were dragging, so I got off lightly. I actually enjoy driving the '13 Challenger R/T. I'm now going to a Route X lobby to test the top speed.

See? That is a force greater than luck! :)

So I was just in a jdm cruise lobby, and they were running races. This one dude was in an integra going as high as 357 mph. I said that an integra could never reach that speed unless there was a rocket strapped to the back. He replied with these words: " yeah they can with vtec" Most people quit at that point. Dude started declaring himself the best racer, so the host decided to change it to Tsukuba and see him drift. Dude proclaimed himself the drift king, went to watch mode, and insulted two people who were very new to drifting. I got furious at this, and told him to try it. He went in a corvette with only a supercharger attached, and the server proceeded to lecture him about how power wasnt everything. After that run and calling himself "Drift k!ng b****s!", I got disconnected, so I left him this message on psn:
"Respect others, for everyone has their flaws. Yours seems to be your arrogance. You will end up better in life if you don't take everything for granted, including your respect."
Needless to say, I have a weird way on solving problems.

People like that were the reason why hybrids were ruined. Take away the good ones (V8 Miatas, Top Secret Supras, RWD Lamborghini racecar replicas, etc) and keep the bad ones (3-7K HP Civics, 100K-400K Red Bulls, 20K GT-Rs, etc).

I was in a drifting lobby testing & tuning my 97' MR2 & this guy writes to me complenting my MR2, so I say 'thx'. Then, I which to my mx5-Miata & he starts writing to me some more. It got annoying. So I leave the lobby & join a EVO vs STI lobby. Then he FOLLOWS me there! I leave, check the UCD & I get a 'friend request :)' so I just blocked him, lol.

Yeah, and then it's YOUR fault for going the right way...

For some reason I feel like I've been in a room with this person you've described. All of the pieces fit into the puzzle perfectly, if you get my draft.

On topic: Just seen someone driving a stock '49 Beetle on Nurburgring going the wrong way and trying to slam people. At the same time I was testing out my newly built supercharged Dodge Ram. Rounding the corner leading to the final straight, there he was. He aimed for me, I tried avoiding, and...well...yeah.

To this day the Nurburgring Security Crew are still searching for the remains of that Beetle...

   👍 Poor Beetle. But I guess he had what was coming to him. That's the reason why I put the Tank Car horn (Horn No.112) on some of my cars. If you do some stupid stuff and its a no-race, free run lobby, I WILL NOT move out of the way. I just lay on the horn and point directly at the stupid sonuvagun. Dodge RAMs are good at this, but 930+ HP Audi RS 6 wagons are much better.

Haha awesome idea!
Excuse me while I go make an obnoxiously colored RS6 Avant (I'm thinking pink with light blue rims) simply for trolling the rammers.

Matte Pink or Iris Red Pearl from the Honda Fit. ;)

Haha I'll see what I can do.
Also, anyone notice a dramatic increase in Nurburgring drag racers? I constantly remind them to please stop, then kick them when they give me problems. You want to drag? Go on Route X. Sorry, but that's just how I feel. :/

I know! I mean I can sort of see how the back straight does provide a decent drag strip, but in the typical no-race-track day lobbies, it's unacceptable for people that want to tune their cars and receive or provide feedback on their cars.

Exactly! Route X has TWO massive straights that are over 6.2 miles in length each. I know it costs money from the PS Store to use the track, but it is THE ideal place for undisturbed drag racing. If you're gonna drag on the Nurburgring, do it going the right way, and when nobody is approaching the final straight. Otherwise go away. True?
On the other hand, I do enjoy meeting folks who like tuning cars and cruising with others.

I find drag racing irritating on this game. Drag racing is usually done over 1/4 of a mile with Hot Rods, Imports and American mussel, not one of a kind rare supercars down several mile straits.

The amount of times I am just about to get a perfect lap then I am hit by someone doing 200 mph, who then complains about me hitting them.

These are so annoying, especially when you're on a good lap and there are 3 cars abreast that are heading in your direction, running the wrong way, so there's no way to go:grumpy:

Dragsters on the 'Ring? Too many.

Just today I was on a fast one in my Minolta (around 223 MPH on the straight) 4 cars are dragging the wrong way and IM the bad guy. I say "Excuse me...? I was at least going the RIGHT WAY!" To which they reply "Lol, that's stupid, Id iot" when I ask them why they say "Racers prefer drag racing. Everyone in Motorsport does" to which I simply say "Do you know of Colin Chapman?" They say they don't (über-facepalm) and I tell them who. And leave them with the quote "Straights are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers" to which they reply "Um. No. Dragging is a real test of a driver"

They were in AT transmission...

Does Sony ban people for being complete idiots? I sure hope so.

Same. They were eventually kicked for ramming people in their X1s. Then the host got abuse, racism etc.

I would really love for them to be banned.

I have had my fair share of poor sportsmanship in races but I really hate it when you are trying to practice in an "Open Track" lobby and some are going no more than 50 mph and refusing to let you pass while they drift in every corner and completely impair your vision of the track ahead. I'm not sure if you guys feel the same way or not but that's what ultimately causes me to lose my nerve. (I'll admit it, I've "bumped" a few out of the way)

I know EXACTLY how you feel. You get these hotshots thinking they're all cool with their stupid Gallardos and GTRs claiming that "My car's an 8 second car bro. You ain't got a chance". Bonus points if they start quoting Toretto and O'Connor. I know it's a video game, and that you should play it your way, but ruining other people's experiences at the same time doesn't work. Just today in fact I got a very heart-warming message from a 'Ring dragger who was kicked for ramming me on my timed lap. Let's just say the 'f word' is a very common adjective in that message. Not my fault bro. I was playing by the rules, and you were the jerk.
Recently I've been forcing assists off (except ABS) and limiting the tires to Racing: Hards. So far it's been keeping the 'Ring draggers away. Here's my setup for Nurburgring lobbies.
All assists off except ABS
Tires restricted to Racing: Hards
700PP maximum
Time Progression 5
Weather changeability 1
Clock 7:00
Drafting Weak
Penalties Weak/Effective For Free Run
So what if I only get 3 or so people to join? It's 3 people that won't drag or be an outright moron in my lobby. You don't like it? Leave. Nobody is forcing you to stay.

Another good point. Hate these folks as well. I can tolerate someone driving a naturally slow car like a SambaBus or Copen, as you can't really help but go slow, but when someone's just cruising at 45mph in an Aventador, blocking me, it gets annoying...FAST. There are cruising lobbies for a reason.

I just hate all of the smoke and then they (most no older than 12 (I'm 16 to be honest)) call you out for being the jerk and then getting you kicked from one of the few Open Track lobbies. I'm like Kurt Busch in NASCAR, I'm cool until you cause me to lose my enjoyment of the drive.

Ironically, Busch wears my favorite number (#18). I'm quite the impatient driver, both in game and real life. Then again I would never run someone off the road in real life, but if you tick me off enough in GT5, I will come after you. I don't care at that point if I'm in the wrong.
Good example is a while back on my old 120GB PS3 before it YLOD, I was on a Nurburgring lobby, just minding my own business, when this guy texted in the chat "ZDUPH." I wrote "Yes?" to which he wrote "I hope your parents were killed in the 9/11 attacks". I went insane. Nobody talks about my family like that, joking or not.

Yes I am quite impatient and easily ticked off but I was referring to Kurt Busch in the 78 car. His younger brother, Kyle, drives the 18.

Wrong Busch brother, ZDUPH. He's talking about Kurt, not Kyle.

EDIT: Ninja'd.
:::::

Time to vent.

After working my butt off to get the Ford GT40 Race Car '69 (from the UCD, spamming the Expert Level F1 Challenge at 775 PP on Indy) I decide to go see how it performs on track.

I jump into a Test & Tune lobby on Spa-Francorchamps. Only about 5 players, most are in non-RM supercars. I ask the host if it's fine that I drive the GT40, and he says go for it.

I was doing well (for me, at least) and slowly adjust the settings to where I can comfortably drive the thing. Once I got it right, I went out and did some hot laps.
In the timespan, I notice three players enter.

Little kids... with mics... and voices that made my ears bleed. They get on the track in Aventadors, and proceed to attempt to knock off my lap time. While doing so, they're screaming at the other drivers to get out of the way, including the poor soul in a TVR Tamora who was figuring out a drift setup.

Guy in the Tamora gets out a Aston Martin V12 Vantage (the DLC one)... and proceeds to wipe the floor with the three kids while also smashing my lap time in the process. Not that I minded, I was listening to the heated conversation and laughing my head off.

One of the kids then exits out and brings in his Tank Car, blocking the road after the very first turn. (Host was AFK at this point.) The other two soon follow suit.

I decide to switch to the Audi RS6 (Premium one) and slam full speed into the wall of Tank Cars. Did it, it worked, and then I had to deal with three little kids screaming insults at me, sending me offensive PMs with all the swearwords in the book.

My response? "Childhood is short, immaturity is forever... especially with you three. Go have your mom read you a bedtime story."

Left afterthat, blocked the three of them, and sent Grievance Reports as well.
