Time to vent.

After working my butt off to get the Ford GT40 Race Car '69 (from the UCD, spamming the Expert Level F1 Challenge at 775 PP on Indy) I decide to go see how it performs on track.

I jump into a Test & Tune lobby on Spa-Francorchamps. Only about 5 players, most are in non-RM supercars. I ask the host if it's fine that I drive the GT40, and he says go for it.

I was doing well (for me, at least) and slowly adjust the settings to where I can comfortably drive the thing. Once I got it right, I went out and did some hot laps.
In the timespan, I notice three players enter.

Little kids... with mics... and voices that made my ears bleed. They get on the track in Aventadors, and proceed to attempt to knock off my lap time. While doing so, they're screaming at the other drivers to get out of the way, including the poor soul in a TVR Tamora who was figuring out a drift setup.

Guy in the Tamora gets out a Aston Martin V12 Vantage (the DLC one)... and proceeds to wipe the floor with the three kids while also smashing my lap time in the process. Not that I minded, I was listening to the heated conversation and laughing my head off.

One of the kids then exits out and brings in his Tank Car, blocking the road after the very first turn. (Host was AFK at this point.) The other two soon follow suit.

I decide to switch to the Audi RS6 (Premium one) and slam full speed into the wall of Tank Cars. Did it, it worked, and then I had to deal with three little kids screaming insults at me, sending me offensive PMs with all the swearwords in the book.

My response? "Childhood is short, immaturity is forever... especially with you three. Go have your mom read you a bedtime story."

Left afterthat, blocked the three of them, and sent Grievance Reports as well.

Genuine example of kids on this game. It's sad, really sad. Can't do anything online without encountering them these days.

Sad to say, but XBOX Live and PSN have both become electronic babysitters for little kids. It's so out-of-hand it's rediculous.

I've had to deal with people I take out of lobbies for being Mexican. One day I entered a lobby with a Spanish that since I entered the track would not stop making fun of me. I have also been expelled from another lobby for sticking to the track a Mazda Protege with a spoiler and they called me ricer.

On-topic: Just got booted from a lobby after beating the host's time...by 500 milliseconds. I can't blame him for being upset, but kicking me? Come on dude have a little respect at least. I wasn't going to brag about it; I'm not like that.

Too many people like that. Had one in a Veyron racing me at the 'Ring. I was in a McLaren Mp4-12C fully tuned and pulled a huge lead out; he'd caught me on the straight. Tried to pit me, went off himself (karma is a cruel thing, right?) and then got angry shouting "YOUR HACKER!" And kicked me, joined my room afterwards and "trolled" me (ramming me, blocking etc.) , I eventually had enough of him in his Veyron, so I said "Yknow what, screw you. You have no right coming into here and dragging your loss out. So what, you lost a few Cr. who honestly cares?" To which he replied "Justise" I just kicked him and carried on in my Samba Bus, had a fun race with a Beetle and a 500 too.

People seem to take the saying "Rubbing is racing" way to seriously in this game. There's a difference between trading paint with the driver next to you, and intentional drilling them in the side or the rear, effectively ruining their race.

Too many lobbies I go into are absolutely filled to the brim with X2010s and X2011s now. I don't mind someone legitimately running a good fair lap with one of these things, but when you're an outright 🤬 ramming into the rear of cars, heads will roll. I always let faster cars pass by either moving to the side or pulling over onto an off-section. I also don't mind people slip-streaming me in online free run. However, bumping my 76HP naturally-aspirated Samba Bus to 200+mph is uncalled for, and absolutely drives me insane. I've moved over for you, what's your beef?

It also drives me nuts when another player driving a much faster car puts about 2mm between him and you when you're in a slower car. I can't tell you how many times I've had a nutjob driving a supercar such as an Enzo riding up my rear, constantly flashing his lights and laying on the horn. Are you blind? I moved over, quit trolling and pass! It's sad that I can't even complete one darn lap of Nurburgring in my stock gen 1 Miata (my all-time favorite car in the GT Series since GT1) without being harassed by a group of overly tuned imports and cheesy-colored supercars.

I had a group of like 4 super cars follow me around the Nürburgring while I was driving one of them things. (Yes I drive a pace car sometimes if I'm bored, or maybe I believe the flashing lights will make other drivers aware of me and where I'm at.)

If they want to drag you can (safely) escort them across the straight through the grass. Even though I believe all of the drag racing should be done on SSRX

Edit: What I mean is, if the staggers are respectful and ask for an escort car, let them race.

I know what you mean, the worst problem is when people overtake you. Imagine the scenario my car has a top speed of 100mph, I am lapping the track, a supercar comes up from behind and has two options to pass.

1. Pass in the space I have given him to the right of my car ( Cars width or more).
2. Pass in the small amount of space to my left crossing the grass and gravel trap hitting me in the process.

Guess which option is usually taken? Just because my car is low pp does not mean I should vacate the racing line and ruin my lap so you can pass.

They seem to forget that they're also ruining their lap as well. By believing that slamming me out of the way (when I wasn't even in the way) is a good idea, you waste valuable seconds regaining the speed you lost due to ramming me.

They're also forgetting one rule of most racing. The racer in front is not to move in your way unless he's ahead of you and blocking. You make the pass if you can...

When I'm in a free run on Nurburgring, I'll keep a close eye on the positions. Anyone who's approaching from behind that's positioned higher then me on the leaderboard means that they're probably going for a lap, and I'll slow up and move aside for them to pass. If someone comes up behind me, and they're lower then me on the leaderboard, they've just left pit row and are on their warm-up lap, and I'll attempt to outdrive them. Should they catch up, I'll use caution and leave an opening for them.

Also, just seen an obnoxiously bright green Murcielago SV with a carbon hood online. Ugh..

Another lobby I joined, I got screwed out of the race because someone pushed me off the track in his RX-7; this lobby was supposed to be clean too.

People need to be taught how to maintain their positions at the first turn at the start of a race. This commonly happens at the Nürburgring, Indy Road Course, and Fuji Raceway.

Had something similar. 3 others and myself, doing a 3 lap race around the nurb in 600PP cars. One guy was in a Gallardo and kept ramming the 3 of us around and what not. I was racing beside into one of the turns, I braked early and he went shooting wide into the wall. Took off into the distance to a 26 second lead in my GTbyCitroen Racecar with the other 2, a TVR RM and an R34, battling with him to try and get past without tasting more Armco. Needless to say, he got kicked pretty quick after the race ended.

CallmeDan I agree A great option for online play would be rolling starts. This F1 start reminds me of what happens at the start of a race on GT5.

Even in Leagues run on here you have issues with this, I know i have. For the league I am currently running, I am hoping rolling starts will stop first corner carnage.

Well, with your league, you have small, slow cars so I wouldn't expect there to be too many accidents, since you can react MUCH faster at slow speeds.

To the left of you ofcourse cause that's where you are supposed to pass a car during tourist runs on the nordschleife. Normal traffic laws count on those days
