When I'm in a drift lobby with players that are CLEARLY more experienced than I am, I pull WAY over to the side to let them pass and not interrupt their good run.

Well, I pull over in every lobby.

I only ever disrupt people's drifting if they're getting in the way of a timed lap and being a general idiot. I try to pass, if they swerve, I knock 'em to the Armco.

Haha I had some Spanish guy flame me for knocking him off while he was trying to drift on Nurburgring (this was in a free run, not a drift lobby by the way). He asked me "Why hit me I'm trying to drift". I wrote "If you want to drift go in a 🤬 drift lobby. You ruined my lap thank you." I was nearly 20 seconds ahead of the lead lap time in my GSXR/4, and ran into this tumbleweed drifting. The fact that he was in a Formula Chameleon Green Corvette C3 with a carbon bonnet didn't help either. :yuck:

You should have had that moron kicked for doing such hideous things to a Corvette.

...I'm not sure why Chrunch lashed out. ...

As far as I am concerned, hacking is like a cancer in GT5. It spreads from player to player. You speak so cavalierly about your hacking that you help to spread the disease.

You know, I hate hackers as well...

...Who knows, maybe I'll get into hybrids soon:sly:

That is why.

Two ways to play one game; you're proving yourself worse than hackers right now by being a jackass about it.

Close the door when you leave.

Two ways to play one game; …

Option 1. Play Gran Turismo.
Option 2. Play Hacked Gran Turismo

Hmm I don’t seem to have that option in my copy of the game.

As far as the rest of what you said… Don’t personally attack people, I found out the hard way.

Option 1: play GT with a few hackers
Option 2: see option 1

Don't like hackers? Ignore them.

And dont personally attack them? Are you a simple troll?

Opening a drag lobby and the first guy that joins is in a gold chrome Audi R8 5.2 FSI with 36,000BHP. In the space of an hour, 4 of them joined, let alone all the other hacked cars.

Just got back from shopping and turns out my brother traded my beloved Esprit with his friend. I said "I'll race you for it" and won by 20 seconds. Hes still refusing to give me it; he says "Shuldnt hav traded" when I said that it was my brother he says "So"

Lucky I still have the setup and he's ruined it by adding more power. Damned kids :(

*my post*

You're no idea how much I don't care about what you think about me.

End this argument, it's getting really unpleasant. You're starting to comment on people's posts rather than just giving an opinion on them.

Anyway, although usually I don't do this, I joined a drag lobby a few weeks ago. There was this kid who was boasting that he just got a G27 WITH CLUTCH and now we're supposed to "refar to hem as 'pro racor' ". He was driving a chrome gold Enzo, "tuned to tha limitz". So I challenged him to drag my stock Gallardo.

We're off. As I launched, I heard his car revving, he was struggling to switch to gear 2. I won and he wanted a rematch - because of lag his gearbox got stuck, apparently.

Same situation happened like 3 times, everyone in the lobby was trying to tell him that it's his fault and he should learn to drive with a wheel first. He kept asking how to powershift and finally started to call us all racists "because he saw people powershifting in real life so why can't he do it in GT5".

Kids nowadays... :)

Pro? Just because he just got his G27? No. His transmission didn't lag.
See when you get a G27 you have to tune your transmissions a little different. If you have a horrible transmission and shift at the wrong point, you will miss shift (literally goes into the neutral gear). So his transmission tune is causing him to miss shift. Don't let that bother you

I love this thread-I hate to see it taken over by a hacker.

You seem to be the only one that's worried about that. If you aren't going to contribute to the thread properly and continue to attempt to drag it off topic, GET LOST.

It's no use attempting to explain the truth to a close-minded person like him Mad. He's one of the many here on GTPlanet who feel that their opinion is the one that EVERYONE in existence should follow. I could name at least 10 people similar to him. He's been added to my ignore list. People like him make me sick. :yuck:

Anyway back on topic: Been getting into NASCAR lobbies, mainly clean ones. However the amount of sore-loser hosts is astounding. I was kicked 76 laps into a 100 lap race on Daytona for being nearly 2 laps ahead of the pack thanks to not only excellent pitting strategies, but also working together with my friend who was also there. We managed to pull so far ahead that when we went to pit for tires and fuel we were still in first. I scolded the host in a message then moved on.

In the words of Sonny Moore "D-D-D-DROP IT"

Both me and Crunch have decided to move on, after being slapped on the wrist. I suggest you all do the same, please.

Edit: the guy with my Esprit has traded it for a BONE STOCK GT86… to another 13 year old. She was sympathetic for me and asked if I wanted it back. Faith=restored.

It didn't bother me at all. I use a G27 myself ;)
As I said, he just got his wheel. He was most likely no idea when can he release the clutch and engage the gas pedal in that thing ;)
I find it kinda annoying but cool at the same time, how timing is crucial in this game's shifting system.

Off topic, but how much does a decent wheel actually cost (and is it worth it)? I'm thinking of saving up for one in time for GT6, since I've been racing with controllers since my old PGR and Midnight Club 3 days, and what better time to start learning how to use a racing wheel than just after I get some experience in a real vehicle?

Sometimes when I'm shifting my Fanatec GT3 RS into second I actually have to do it about 3 times just because the game doesn't like the shift .
But back on subject me and my closest friends on PSN learned how to mod our cars and I figured that we could experiment with the cars see how we could give the cars reasonable amounts of HP. Now however all that one of them wants to do is mod cars he doesn't even want to race normally anymore it's just "nah il go mod some cars be right back".

Hm.
I GUESS I could save up £150+ for November (November is the big game release month, right...?), but then again I could ask for a racing wheel for Christmas...
I'd prefer to get used to the driving physics with a wheel, but then again I'll be playing the demo on a controller, so I guess it doesn't matter.
I'll see what happens.

I'd like to continue this thread with a funny story from a lobby I joined yesterday. That is, I'd LIKE to, but unfortunately the GT5 servers were being particularly erratic for me that day.

Right-o. I've just had a race with YET ANOTHER immature fool. This one was 21 and was a "I'm not racist but..." Type. He was getting on my nerves as he was abusing a Frenchman for driving a Jaguar XK luxury saying "French Shuldnt drive Brit cars it not rite" to which I replied "So by your logic, British people shouldn't drive French cars (he was in a Veyron)" to which he replied "No no no. U don't understand. Brits can drive what they want. No one else can. Ruining the properly British industry." I then typed "There's hardly a proper British industry left. Jaguar-Land Rover is owned by TaTa, an Indian company. Aston; German shareholders. Lotus; Proton, a Malaysian company. Rolls; German. Bentley; German. Need I go on?" To which he said "Ur racist" so I said "Nope. I just know what I'm talking about. Unlike you" so he said "How old r u? 12? Lol go home littl kiddy lol"

I replied with one line. "Yeah, except you're the one who can't type and uses LOL, because you're too lazy or immature to bother to even just type "Haha" or something along those lines." He replied with "<spaced out profanity>ing kid" and left.

At least the Frenchman got a laugh out of it :)

It takes a special kind of 'I'm not racist, but...' to claim that someone is racist for supporting cultural diversity.

That reminds me of when I managed to beat a Suzuki Escudo with an Impreza RM on Toscana. A Citroen Xsara Rally Car almost beat him as well. Pathetic.

Yep. My impreza won of an Escudo trail car and a ford GT. They called me a hacker and They kicked me out...

So today I was hosting a SSR7 cruise lobby with three members from a club I'm in and this random guy shows up. He types in chat "Change tire type" because I restricted the tires to Sports Softs. I get quite annoyed by people that use those tires in cruise/cops lobbies. So, I replied back to him with "Get out of my lobby" because I can't stand it when people tell me to allow RS tires just so some moron can speed with ridiculous amounts of grip. He then replies with "EVERYONE VOTE KICK HOST NOW!"

He didn't remain in the lobby for long. (2.5 seconds)

Sadly, that's the attitude in cruise lobbies nowadays. People drift, speed and generally drive like in Forza or The Fast and The Furious no matter what lobby they're in...
