Ah the beauty of dip****s driving Tank Cars really makes my heart go wild. Today, another incident involving two no-brained 8 year olds in Tank Cars. I was in a Japanese lobby to show my respect for the Japanese after the Earthquakes, and was cruising around 'Ring 24 hours in my non-RM'd Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C '05. Just then this loud mouthed punk shows up, and enters the course in his Tank Car. I guess he invited one of his just-as-dumb friends. Anyhoo, the host started a 2 lap race. Everybody went back to pit row, except for the two Tank Car tw*ts. The race began, and unfortunately for me, one of the Tank Cars started out in front of me. He backs right into me, then into another guy driving an Evo IV. Needless to say, I was pissed. They disappeared for the 1st lap, then the 2nd lap they blocked off the pathway to the finish line. I had just gained 1st place from an R33 Skyline, and we were neck and neck. I blew my horn at the guy to back off. I guess he knew I was going to ram the Tank Cars. Anyway I saw them in the near distance and full-throttling it, I plowed right into them, throwing them both off the track. I felt bad for the R33, so I let him pass me and win. The two Tank Car noobs were kicked RIGHT after the race.

Update 1.09 (or whatever the next major one is - probably later because they will be busy fixing the nurburgring 24 hr glitch whenever they reopen after the tragedy) will see GT5 become no less of a game if they delete the frankly ridiculous tank car from the game and everyone's garage. What it is about this car that attracts a particularly impressive form of moron I do not know.
 
There was this kid with a mic, who wasn't participating in a rather lengthy race, and wouldn't shut up.... You ever see Smokin' Aces? Remember that one mouthy ADD karate kid with the wood? Yeah, it was like that.
 
players that are 1 lap down should be in ghost mode to prevent stuff like what happened to ZDUPH
lately people either quit when they're last or they start doing donuts in the middle of the track
 
Was in a Shuffle race. I was overtaking the host on the last straight at Monza who was in 2nd and his mate was in 1st. As i overtook him he kept trying to sideswipe and ram me then as he tried to do this he failed and crashed into the wall. His mate then stopped right infront of me. Anyway on the final lap he caught up and did ram me off. When the race was over i unmuted him (wish i could hear what he was saying while racing silly me). He said and i quote "sorry mate, i gave you the chance to give me my lead back but im gonna have to kick you". Ironically he named the room "Clean Racing"
 
And every single one of these 🤬 kids will say, if cornered, that that was the ONLY time they ever did that, won't they? They are NORMALLY very clean drivers... :rolleyes:

Trust me, kids. You're not fooling anyone but yourselves.

Use as many crayons as you feel necessary to deny this... :sly:
 
What has been said in this thread has kept me from racing online, I want to , I am trying to create a online group for people that don't want to deal with all of this.

I did try a free run room at the TGTT , and for me the most part it was clean, but there was an idiot in a Dodge Ram, ramming people. The host told him to stop.

Then there was a second idiot , or maybe the same in a tank car, he rammed me a few times, but since it was a free fun, I didn't care as much. I just stayed away from him.
 
I always try and find rooms with friends ive raced with before, That helps. But you always have those few who show up and purposely try and mess with everyone. What I hate is,- The other night I accidently hit someone and spun him out. He wasnt just a little upset. He was acting like I just stole his wallet! The guy wouldnt shut up about it. he kept on and on telling me he was going to spin me out, get me back. Finally I just told him, 'Look man, If it will shut you up, Please hurry up and do it!' He started going around track backwards till he got me. I guess it made him feel better, and the rest of us got some peace. So everything worked out. Sometimes I make a wrong move and hit someone, I think we all do it sometimes, it happens. But unless its the same person doing it to you all the time, Try and not let it get you that upset.
 
I had a guy last last night that tried to punt and spin me for nearly the whole race

I say nearly because I got fed up with it and gave him some back. He got in a sulk and left the room

Moral? Don't do it uinless you want it back plus some :D

He then proceeded to say sorry it was an accident.

I left the room and then started recieving private messages, saying how I should come back and race because he was going to spank my M3 CSL. I declined politely, only to start recieving all sorts of abuse.

The sad thing is that same person is a member on here...
 
had alot of bad experience online as stated earlier, but need to say, that i had a pretty good time yesterday when i opened up my own lobby with sport soft, some penalty, max 400pp, 5 laps, weight to 1,5 tons.
I wasnt expecting that anyone would join the room, but shortly got 10-12 participants.
All were driving quite clean (with the occasional slight touch going in corners together) one guy sticked to his Garaya while all others were using small street cars and one guy was a bit slow in his samba bus.
Overall we got some quite nice racing situations and i think im going to stick to this PP class when racing online.

A person who I determined to be a member on here sent me a PSN once apparently he must have been pissed off at a post of mine. The message simply said "you're a bitch". I searched through my "Recent Players" and couldn't find the PSN name, and being this is the only place I actively contribute to that has my PSN listed, well if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

I don't get why he couldn't just send a PM or respond to whatever post I made that pissed him off.

Yup, funny how that works out, without wanting to go off topic, i have been an 'observer' here for 6+ years and since GT5 came out the standards have dropped off the side of the world.

Having said that I have met some fantastic people on here and online. My glass is always half full when it comes to online.

Yes me too, for every one bad one there are plenty more good ones.

PS the person mentioned above never replied when I replied back, "who are you and why did you send this?"
 
Worst I've dealt online are people that keep ramming others.

Most annoying were on some room where 3 players had X2010. It was just a competition between the first and second one (both X2010's), since the third of them kept on ramming people! Wtf?!

Seriously, the rammer kept slowing down so he could push people and not let them even compete. I did get past him though, and was in 2nd place for a while. The rammer kept ramming other people, but then again he drove clean until he catched me and started ramming again. I would like to kill that guy. Annoying as hell. What's the point of that kind of stuff?

EDIT: And what's with the quitters? Aaaaaargh. I hate them. What's the point of racing when everyone you get past will quit?

Yes I know it was a free run, I wasnt really looking to race when I went online, thats why I went in to a free run room.

I actually try to have honest races with my Tank Car, thank you very much 👎

Had some absolutely frustrating online races on nurburgring today, everytime I took over someone on the nordschleife they would crash into me in the corners.

After a while i became roomowner and everybody left when i set the penalty to high.

I can understand the ocassional accident, but this is to much.
PD should make penalties even more severe imo.

I agree with that, but only if they fix the penalty system so you don't get penalized from people ramming you from behind. :ouch:

Like I said, join a room I'm in and race me.
And I wasn't cornered seeing as you're the only one that still drags this on.

I hope they will fix this, but i guess it's hard to implement this, so only the people who ram into others will get punished.

Maybe they can make some stats about drivers who are in a LOT of crashes, so you would get ranks or classes between drivers.

All that said, I still enjoy it very much if it's a good race!

Some guy pushed me into another guy just so he could have a reason to boot me.
 
in 1 evening i got directly kicked out of 4 rooms: 3 all English and 1 all Spanish
when entering it said things like, 'clean race', blabla and nothing else, when i entered and saw 13 English people, i kinda knew where i was heading
