Worst you've dealt with online...

I was in an (I assume) open room with someone from another forum. We were racing on Deep Forest and I managed to overcook it a little on the first corner and make contact with one of the other racers (who seemed to be struggling anyway). I apologized over the headset as it was not intentional. On the last lap the afore-mentioned racer decides to try to ruin my race by driving head on into my car... not impressed!

This is one of my pet hates, i'am in no way a great racer and sometimes things go a bit wrong :guilty:(i always try and pick rooms with no serious racing) but i always make my apologies and even let the person i hit in front of me, then a few laps later you know what happens and i just know it was no accident.:grumpy:

Would be good if there was a beginer section, say 50 races online then you get locked out then everyone is in the same boat. I find racing the AI easy and boring or a room online that i'm not quite good enough.:indiff:

I always race fair or whats the point, but sometimes its like pissing into the wind.

I've have an idea for this... if GT5 can recognize your birthday, why doesn't PD just implement an AGE RESTRICTION on lobbys? Then no loser kids will come into the server and people will be able to race eachother of the same age group anyways. Kids will always smash cars, it's why licenses are a privilege :\

also, then you wouldn't have to stop gaming to kick (as many anyways; there will always be that one ignorant person), which can potentially be more time consuming and annoying than them joining and powersliding into you or ruining your track etc.

the con is that servers will dramatically be less diverse, though that could be a pro because they'll be less diverse of stupid kids >.> (or if you're a kid, more diverse of other kids learning about cars)

actually it could get quite competitive if that were implemented

How would that work? Most kids don't enter the real age anyway because you need a parrent PSN account or something.
My point is it wouldn't work.
Also you are generalising on a massive scale. Let's say they did implement the age restriction thing. The non-serious kids couldn't join certain lobbies I suppose, but the kids that are actually good ( and don't say there aren't any) would be stuck with the bad kids and thus killing a whole section of the game for them.

I've had a couple of bad occasions. Once, it was a free run on de la Sarthe (no chicanes. There I was in a McMerc, gunning down the mulsanne straight minding my own business, when this dude in a Veyron comes the other way at top speed, clips me from the side and sends me into the armco. On another occasion, it was a free run on the Nordschliefe (I can't remember what car I was in; think it was a Murc SV), and this guy in an FGT keeps rushing off ahead of me so he was out of my view, waiting in the runoff, then reversing into my path. Eventually I quit (on both occasions).

A lot of these problems could be eliminated if they put in some sort of level filter for online races. The filter should make some rooms for only certain levels up. Personally, I would only join rooms for level 30+. I could only imagine the kind of racing that would happen in a legitimate level 40 lobby.

What they need is Forza style hosting controls.

You can set rooms up with ghosts therefore no contact and about a million other things GT5 doest / cant do

I was on the other day and some guy decides that it's to make up for his car's lack of handling (and possibly his lack of skills), he'll attempt to use his NASCAR to Pulverize my Impreza. He somewhat succeed because we were at Tsuskba and used me as a brake.

Considering the prevalence of fake accounts for duping I'm SURE the morons would have no problem making a fake one saying they are 70 yrs old to screw with everyone.

Too bad the SSR7 and 24 hr Ring glitch ruined this proposition as well.

Worst thing I've dealt with online is something I deal with EVERYTIME.

Joins, 9/10 people use SKF and host kicks me because I want them to drive without Noob Force Recovery.

Hmm, the majority of rooms i enter have it turned off, some people beg for it to be turned on but it stays off mostly in my experience.
There's also an option to search for rooms with skid recovery tuned off

Ecchi-BANZAII!!

Just search for rooms without it! :dopey: I always search: all areas, SKF off, and "race for real". You'll get good rooms that way.

I like how people are saying ban the kids, 95% of my bad online experiences have been with "grown ups" and their attitudes

Most young players have either apologised mid race or after while most adults throw the blame on someone else because they out broke themselves and caused a crash

Im 29 btw just incase anyone decides to attack me for been biased, shouldnt have to put that bit but then again it is GTPlanet ;)

Penalties don't work.

I was racing on N'ring. An opponent ran off track, hit a wall, bounced back into the middle of the track in front of me. I got a ramming penalty. But wait, that's not all. After hitting him I glanced off track and got a shortcut penalty too.

Bumping as I have a story that must rank as one of the worst:

I was online, desperate for money so I decided to see what the old Nurburgring 24 Hour Glitch was like, so we lined up in X2010's and a guy in a midget. So we all went down to the first corners after the Arena section, and waited. This guy got bumped out of the way and shouted "Why do that for 🤬 sake? This other guy was I think irish (was mentioned later in the conversation) and replied something along the lines of "Stop being a crybaby.". So of course the other guy gets annoyed, until it gets more and more heated, and descends into a full blown swearing and shouting match (bear in mind these guys are the only two with microphones).

So it gets really nasty, with them both being smart, swearing at the top of their voice, using every obscenity in the book to the point of they are challenging each other to a fight - and a serious one. We all left the lounge slowly... and I hope I never come across such 🤬 myself online again.

Moral of the story. Dont be a fag and glitch.

So a couple of people angrily arguing and using language you don't approve of is "one of the worst" things a person could ever hope to experience online in GT5? Wow.

It is of course very irritating(not to mention a bit foolish from a game design point of view) for there not to be a way for the host to boot people without leaving the race, as well as for those without mics to mute people who start being loud mid-race. You can always take off your mic and throw it on the table but if it's coming from the stereo, you're stuck with it. A general "mute all voice chat" option would also be a great feature, instead of having to find each person and do it individually(especially if the mute is persistent if you meet them again).

I kept it on because I simply could not believe what I was hearing. It's just a game, but some people take things so seriously. It was appallingly stupid.

Im a shamed of all people bragging about their cars, yet they dont dare to test me by a "tree" in street drag.

It is pretty funny how mad some people get. It's usually even worse in shooters. I think at some point it kind of turns into something of an "art form" for some people, not entirely unlike trash talking.

Umm Im quite young.. Im very fast... very clean.. and 19.. only certain people my age are noobs but I think I carry myself well.

They also need a directional filter... drive more than one lap the wrong direction get automatically kicked, im sick of botched hot laps when my car is going one way and a drag race is coming the other..

Yes, but then what about teenagers who actually know what they're doing and want to race fairly?

OH OH I KNOW I KNOW LET THEM DRIVE 💡

uhh.. buddy.. not all little children are like that.. some of us are actually quite fast and know what we are doing

One thing I hate is when people mod their Murcielago Superveloce to the point where it can beat a NASCAR. The game is Gran Turismo 5, not The Fast and the Furious: The Game.
and this is a problem why? I own a stock LP670 but i do have a maxed out LP640, its how people spend their money... free market!

There are plenty of problems in terms of rammers, Someone accused me of ramming when he came on the track directly infront of me leaving me nowhere to go, except into him. Told him my two cents and blocked him for it.
Kicked 7 times in 2 days for no good reasons, even questioned why to the host, no reply even after apologising for an incident with another driver. All I did was overtake making no contact and the host fell off the track.

More to come

I had to deal with a very stupid host before, in Daytona he rammed me into a wall and pitted me as I tried to overtake him, his excuse: "it was the last 10 seconds!" when the name of the lobby was "clean racing". Hated that kid.

No offense to the Japanese, most are nice. One morning I joined a Japanese room to drift, i was tandeming with them in my s13. Then a message on my screen popped up on my screen saying "you have been kicked".

I once joined a room for the Classic LM cars, it was just me and another person. Penalties were off, I should've seen this coming:

We are both in stock Ferrari 330s. He cuts Tertre Rouge (turn going onto the straight), both chicanes, and the Ford chicanes at the end of the lap. After 3 laps, I was only 5 seconds back, despite driving OLR clean. He then typed a message out that was something like 'U CHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!+87 more exclamation points', I began to respond by typing, but he was busy being the first person to ever kick me from a race. I literally lol'd.

While back before PSN went down, I was in a Free Run Nurburgring lobby. Here I am driving my yellow Toyota Tacoma, and this moron decided to conveniently park his FGT right in the middle of the road at entrance to the Carousel. Then he sees me and turns his car into my path. I knew he was going to try and hit me, so I floored it right into him, sending him right off the track. It was funny as hell. He left right after.

This isn't really a bad room, it was just that the host was kind of a psychopath.:scared:

i once went into a room that said "classics". For some reason the track changed from daytona road course with 3 laps to nurburgring 24h. So out of the 16 people, 4 had left. the host changed the rules to i think 1100 hp maximum and 600 kg minimum. another 2 guys left. he said the next race was 15 laps (wtf). 4 guys left.

By the time we started racing, half the field had yellow cars and the other half had some sort of alfa, which started freaking people out. By the time we got through like 6 laps (i was in 4th since i suck), the host just started cursing everyone out for like 5 minutes. Afterward, he started driving backwards, hitting people going through the first section. Then we were kicked out.

Probably shouldve left the room earlier:tup:

I write down all peoples PSN that have done bad thigs towards me, i collect many evidence, i will se how im going to use this in the future. Remember, tt3 knows everything about military intelligence. :)
