Storytime, kids!
Around 5 months ago, I went online for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing, and I brought an X2011 into a room. I had an FGT for about 5 minutes and I kept getting rammed by some guy with an X2011, so I brought one out myself. I rightfully got rejected from the room shortly thereafter. Not because the host was being shallow and not using common sense, but because I wasn't.
I, fortunately, have learned very quickly from my mistake and I try not to do anything relatively stupid.
And I think this has already been mentioned earlier; but every once in a while, someone would join in a room wherever I was, pick a vehicle, tune it a little, and enter the course with it. Then when the race starts, they're just sitting there. I can understand if they had to do something else probably work-related and forgot to exit the track, but when they just sit there just because they like to sit there, I guess it starts to annoy some people.
I guess another quip I have is the "COUNTRY X ONLY" rooms I see in the lobby. For those in the dark; I like racing with people outside North America and the U.K. I've even raced in all-Japanese rooms a couple times. Unfortunately, I never get the opportunity to enter into a room with almost no American, Canadian, or English folk because the room description implies that only, for example, Greek players are allowed in the room. Especially if the main language of said country isn't English. Probably because 1) I'll probably get kicked out of the room if I even try to enter because I'm not from the same country as they are, 2) I would never make a room like this because I really don't care about what country you're from, or 3) the host could have some sort of a personal bias for his home country. That, I can understand because you grew up there...wherever you're from.
These reasons are why I have not been Online for a while. I might start going online again, because 1) I have about 8-10 friends on PSN that are actually pretty good drivers to me, so I can definitely trust them on and off the track and 2) I love to race with other fast, aggressive, clean drivers like myself, even if it's just against 1 or 15 racers.
And I'm with you guys on the rooms that claim to be clean, but really aren't. Especially if at least half of the drivers are maniacal by nature. Seriously, those kinds of rooms are starting to become commonplace.
But I guess we can't ridicule them for driving dirty if the races aren't taken seriously...unless the room is labelled for dirty Motorstorm-like racing. It's how they choose to drive, and it's up to them whether or not they want to change their driving style.
That said, I'd like to stress that there are so many troublemakers out there in the lobbies. The next person/group of people you run into could be one of them.
It is so hard to find or create a decent room nowadays...
