When I host rooms, usually I kick everyone that (a) doesn't have the GTP tag, or (b) isn't on my friend roster.

I do have TCS enabled most of the time, some of the cars just CANNOT drive without it. No other driving aids except ABS, one of my drift cars had that turned off for the longest time and I had no idea why it would lock up when braking from any spot...

So you would kick the GT Academy finalists just because they aren't flying the GTP flag? Wow.

There are some good people that race without the GTP tag on psn. Pretty bad to kick someone just because of their gamertag. You should give everybody a chance before they get the boot.

Exactly! Maybe that explains why sometimes i get kicked for no reason before i even get a chance to race. You never know, you might even make more friends.

I joined a room once where they were racing GT500s with no tcs & neither was i. I was still slower because they know how to tune the cars properly whereas i don't. They assumed i was using tcs, so they disallowed it, expecting me to leave. Instead, it made no difference to me because i already wasn't using tcs. Through this, i gained their respect & they sent me a F-req.

You never know... Just like them, you might just make someone's day!?
...someone who's struggling to find decent friends to add.

Today I had the worst experience In a shuffle room. Once the original host left all hell broke loose. People were targeting the people in first and slamming into them. Nobody in that room knew how to use the brakes. That is the last time I join a shuffle room.

Yeah! I have no time for shuffle races anyway. Even those that are clean.

I like to use certain cars for certain tracks. I also like to adjust the transmission & brakes. To not have a car even reach its highest gear makes no sense whatsoever.

But most nonsensical is how the shuffling mixes drivetrains. E.g. Giving 2 players an Audi & a BWM, & then whacking me with a stupid RR Rut was grossly unfair. The RUT simply didn't suit this track & i was out of contention within the 1st 2 corners. Meanwhile they had a fantastic battle with a photo-finish.

Mostly tho, they mix FRs with 4WDs. :grumpy: Of course those who cop the 4WDs are instantly disadvantaged. I know they switch it around for the next race but still... They should shuffle with cars of the same drivetrain, set by the room owner.

No more shuffle races for me either.

I've won many shuffle races in a 4WD so I'm not seeing the disadvantage. :)

Really... And how many driving aids do you use??

I have all aids off except ABS set on 1. If you drive without tcs you should know what i mean in terms of cornering. They're simply not 'chuckable' like FRs are.

I only use ABS. Learn to drive a 4WD maybe?

Fair enough, but no thanks. Not fun. My Lambo Gallardo is supposed to be a 4WD, but i haven't even bought the torque diff! As it drives like a FR , it's 1 of my favourites. Extremely 'chuckable' LOVE IT!

I always have lots of fun in my Lambo... ;)

In my honest opinion 4WDs (R35 GTRs in particular) have a huge advantage over FR cars in shuffle rooms. That is just my opinion though...

I agree with 4wd having an advantage but it can be track dependant I was in a Zonda vs a few R8s at Fuji. (500PP shuffle)

I had an off lost and around 6 secs but in 3 laps I caught and passed them to win. (Helped by the straightline advantage the Zonda had) No doubt on a more twisty short track the R8 would have easily beaten me.. ;)

It probably depends on an individual's driving style then.

However, regardless of which drivetrain provides the advantage, it still makes no sense to shuffle them together. It's inevitable someone will always be disadvantaged.

It's put me off shuffle races for good now. Personally, i'd much rather choose a car that suits my driving style & that which i prefer to use for the given track.

Just to let people know, stuff like this is why you have such a high amount of bad rooms. You don't let people use their preferred driving setup. I'm not gonna go any more in depth of it, but I will say just this. Make your view the same as others, and see how you like it.
Well, but what if I don't like it? Because I really don't.

How can I have a good time with allowing aids when I don't like it when others use it? Sorry, where's the logic?
If someone needs aids then he can simply leave, idc.

ABS is ok, maybe TCS for very high powered cars (I personally wouldn't even then use it). Sorry, but SRF and active steering is a no no for me. And honestly, most people who NEED these aids won't really lift the average driving level of a room.
Same for things like boost and draft strong. How many serious race drivers have you seen who like this unrealistic 🤬?

Ehh, you know, some people like dirty racing as example. They can even have fun with it. Perhaps you're one of these? I don't. You see how different opinions can be?
But on my side, I want fair and clean competitions on a propper level. Quality over quantity, I really prefer it this way.

Just joined a room with just other British people. There was a little bit of bumping and seemed to be friendly and traded between other people. Halfway through a 2 lap race on Monaco and I was kicked.

I had been trading taps and nudges with the host but I guess that he couldn't deal with being fed his own medicine. Sore loser. First time that I've been kicked by a British person.

Some noob in a power restricted veyron ran my 330 P4 off the road when i was trying to make an inside pass on monza.. and shot it into the weeds.. My car was quicker and it was going for the lead..

OMG I'm going through this thread and I'm in tears laughing. I'm sorry you guys are having such horrible experience online. Please keep posting your unfortunate times with these most interesting people( make a note of there PSN so we all look out for the crazies) lol hahaha

You have to watch out on tight tracks such as Monaco. It's very difficult to make a pass without contact between you and another player.

Hint: Do not attempt to pass until you know you can make a clean pass. That has saved me more than once on tight tracks such as this one.

I actually made clean passes on him. He only got past me by driving into me so I hit the wall. I got fed up and played him at his own game. I knew he was the host but that shouldn't have made a difference.

I would say a race at Le Mans. Host didn't say it was dirty, but everybody was skipping through as much chicanes as they could. Once they weren't taking shortcuts, they started ramming each other (as a braking strategy I guess… I do that at A-Spec too ;-P). Left the room after the race ended. At least I didn't finish last.

My worst experience was earlier today, room was called CLEAN DRIVERS ONLY! after joining i received a message to my ps3 inbox from a scottish guy saying hello ****head then throughout the first race he was ramming me, In my second race i managed to avoid him but some other guy rammed me against a wall when i was trying to pass and then in the third race the first guy decided to drive the wrong way round the track ramming everyone (his car didn't go invisible like i thought it was supposed to) completely ruined it for everyone. I dont understand what people like this get out of it

You might want to edit your post since name sharing is against AUP.

Im curious...Has anyone here had a bad experience in a dirty racing room? I mean ive seen my share of people who go into the room, complain about how were abusing our pixels improperly then leaving before we get a chance to defend our practices, but to have a bad experience in dirty racing...must be a doozy.
