Out drove a guy in a Brian vickers Camry on racing softs.. In a stock F40 on sport softs no ABS..
I've noticed that for the last month or so i've not encountered any experiences which i could class as bad, (and i go on free runs on TGTT a lot). Is this down to bad players and trolls moving to different racing games or am i just lucky?
I have to agree with you. My kick rate has dropped considerably over the last few months. I think I only kicked one person last night. He was in a Daihatsu midget and I warned him before the race that if he made himself lap traffic, I would kick him. The race started and I watched on my map display as he turned around and started going backwards.
My biggest gripe is with level 40 drivers that have no idea how to drive with real people.
That don't sound like a worst you've dealt with online moment. Sounds to me that you're just trying to show some sort of elitism rather than a bad experience.
masterrawadWell, I just had ANOTHER bad experience. It is on the hallowed and hated Indy road course. I am dragging my dodge viper ACR against this 'team' (Immature brats who call themselves a team). They are so 🤬 annoying. Whenever someone passes over the line or bump one of the 'team' members by accident, the whole team goes ape**** and start ramming the guy and cursing him out with poorly constructed grammar. So I decided to drag them and humiliate them in front of the lobby members. Seems fun to me! So I dare them to drag me and I end up going against each and every single team member (about two, one of them had their name as their PSN ID and the other liked naruto, that was apparent in his PSN ID as well, does this tell you something?)
The first guy is in a dodge viper acr, apparently tuned by his underaged superior. I completely leave him in the dust! He leaves the race and he is changing cars. I go against the 'team' leader and he is in a dodge GTSR. He gets destroyed by my dodge. At this point the other guy brings in a ford GT. This was relatively close, but I managed to beat him. The team leader brings out a dodge charger. It had a relatively good start, but after that I put him to shame by winning by a long stretch.
The 'team' leader gets really pissed off. The other guy starts to curse at me, accusing me of hacking (*****?) and glitching my speed on my ACR (*****?!). So the 'team' leader brings in the Bugatti Veyron. Fully tuned, too. I am not worried, knowing I might lose, so I drag against him once again. Instead I launch on 2nd gear for the better advantage and it works! It was a tank car's length, but I smoked the Bugatti! I put an entire team to shame single-handedly!
Then I got kicked.
I think it was more of a matter of the other driver not caring for the slower car. Him adding ABS to the equation simply spiced it up. Of course now, he didn't share the full story so best not for you or even me to make assumptions on what happened. Even though you didn't, you are taking a side you know nothing about.
Can't tell you how many times a similar thing has happened to me. It's like the other driver expects that you're using racing soft tires and can move out of the way with no problem.
GTP_CargoRatI'm not taking sides. I just stated that his post had more of an elitism tone to it rather than a bad experience . It was as if he was saying he beat up on a more powerful car while he was using no assists, making it sound like he was some great driver or something. Thats what it sounded like to me. Anyways, no need to carry it on. My apologises if I understood it wrong.
I was just driving my F40 hard.. Trying to have a good time with it, then this clown would pass me and either take the corner or section ahead of me slower than me and hold me up or wreck completely and id have to avoid him.. He was a terrible driver. As though making my F40 behave wasnt problematic enough (it is a new car and hasnt been driven offline.. So it was alot more tempermental than the older looser ones because its chassis is still so tight..), i was a little sloppier with it than the older car that im used to, but the guy with the Camry wasnt helping me out.. That particular F40 is not very fond of abrupt directional changes, and there was alot of them.
Not sure if I'm reading the correct meaning into that last sentence or not, but what relationship could a driver's GT5 experience point total possibly have to their knowledge and skill when racing with real people? The vast majority of most people's EXP surely comes from offline racing, and if anything that rather strongly reinforces bad behavior in a proper race setting. Seasonals probably even more so than the regular game.
GT5 offline is no better than a traditional arcade racer when it comes to learning how to drive with other racers whom you actually need to show respect to - or any of the skills that go with that. There's no incentive at all to learn respectful driving, and of course the bots teach you next to nothing about the lines and brake points people use online. There's also the difference in physics and grip as well. There is no telling how much online experience any given player has by the time they get near level 40, or what they may have done even while they were online.
Edit to add: On my nonexistant list of all the rooms online that don't make sense to me, the "level 40 only" rooms have to be very near the top. No clue what that expects to accomplish.
Haha, you legend!! Hacking?? LMAO They just cannot take it, that you beat them straight up!
And that ACR you have is quick!! If it beat immature brats who are incompetent in dragging.
No decent lobbies nowadays...
masterrawadMy does 9.1xx in a quarter mile, so it is a pretty above average ACR. I ask them what their tunes were (before the whole commotion) and they PMed me on PSN that they shortened the gears all the way and bought only the power upgrades. That is self-explanatory
walshylaad14This guy started picking a fight with me online and he wanted to drag me. Me in enzo and him viper acr. He launched quicker than me but i started catching up with him. When i was overtaking him he rammed me into the wall and carryed on :/
ZR1fanIf hes picking a fight with you thats a telltale sign hes gonna ram you, when that happens.. I dont pass.. I mess with them.. You should try hitting the brakes next time someone takes a swing at you like that.. Theyll wipe themselves on the wall and youll take the win
J91patrizUntil now my worst experience was with an Italian...
We were racing and for not letting me overtaking he just kept pushing me aside against the wall. So it wasn't just a change of trajectory, but a simple blocking, like one you would do in Burnout to make other cars crash.
I then quit the race and just reminded him that his wasn't an appropriate behaviour.
His answer came via pm, covering me with insults. I signalled his message to the playstation "police" but I don't think they' ve done much about it since I can still see him racing online...
I dont think they do anything IMO, ive reported people for hacking on COD, abusive messages and so on but i still see them playing online
If this comment is about nothing happening. As far as I know it may be because few people have reported him. If only one person reports them nothing will be done. I don't even think they will look at it because all it takes is one immature person to report people and everyone will get banned.Sorry state of affairs if you ask me.

PenelopeYes very true, I am surprised no one else has reported him, but perhaps he just has a problem with woman...lol
I don't think they do anything either...
A few months ago I had quit bad problems with an American guy, he drives around the ring in a black Ferrari and his win message is "yes I really am that fast", Very arrogant and obnoxious. I won a couple of races he participated in, he came second, and according to him I only won because he got held up or bashed off ! left that room and went elsewhere. A week or so later I enter another room at the ring and who should I find there, yep Mr Obnoxious, talking on mic about how good he is and all that! so we race, I take the lead at Flugplatz and after pulling 10 seconds on him he quits. The torrent of abuse I received via PSN was incredible, I wont repeat any of it here for obvious reasons but believe me it was very nasty. After the 5th such message I reported him, nothing came of it, still see him around, just leave a room if I enter one with him in it...
Sorry state of affairs if you ask me.
lol i hate that :/GiygasThis just happened in a trading room:
Me: Does anyone have a stock Sl65 or stock Vanquish for trade?
Person: Yeah, i have both. Which one u wanna see?
Me: The Sl65.
Person: okay, i'm looking for an nsx race car.
Me: Sure, hold on.
i bring out the nsx, and 5 minutes later the person brings out a fully tuned SLS Amg.
Me: I asked for a stock Sl65?
Person: oh, what was the other car?
Me: a stock Vanquish.
Person: okay, i have that.
Person brings out fully tuned V8 vantage.
You have left the room.
