Doing a clean lap at the Nurburgring and having some idiot thinking it's a good idea to come tearing up the opposite way down the last few corners. Spoiled my lap and my general happiness in that particular room.

I agree with you on that one. It's very hard doing a lap in general. Let's see:
Powerful car that will slide if you're not careful
Tricky track that you might not have fully mastered
Other people that might hate you for hitting them
Faster vehicles that may come up behind you (especially Red Bulls, hard to dodge when they're so fast)
And I think it would be easier if everyone just went the same way. On Circuit De La Sarthe on free run, I just move over to the side on the Mulsanne Straight and hope that the drag racers blow by in the other lane...

The other people that might hate you and faster vehicles that might come up behind you part is what top gear test track got.try to do a lap,you going to be hit.try to do a drag race, going to get hit.drifting, you get the point.when you hit them, they want to kick you

Yep. No wonder when it's TGTT in drag racing season, I like to call it a crash course in crash avoidance...

Not really, he just called me a Mexican and yelled... So nope.

Until you said that I thought it might be me... ;)

On topic, one of the most annoying people I've dealt with online was a guy who kept saying he was practically unbeatable while using SRF, hopping on and off the grass at Nordschleife and accusing me of ramming to overtake him (because he couldn't hold a damn line)... I bet that's a normal encounter.

I could carry on about being kicked for no reason, getting rammed, blah blah blah...But i have 3 other pet peeves that i really have difficulty tolerating:

Firstly, people with mics. This does not bother me anywhere near as much as it used to, since i've now discovered how to mute them all. Except when you already have and the race is starting and someone with a mic enters the room. It's a bit late to mute it then! Or i may have qualified for the front row, and when the race is started the 35-sec count-down, someone has joined with a mic. Even if i have enough time to exit to pit lane and mute them, it means losing my grid position! Especially as i like to crank my full-surround sound system and listen to the revs of the car for gear changes, etc. I have to immediately turn it right down and then i can hardly hear the engine. It's so distracting, it irritates me and puts me off. If you are using a mic and you enter a room and they are currently racing: SHUT UP!!

Secondly, people who quit the race when they fall behind. To me, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever because even in last place, you still get some credits...Better than nothing!? If you're pissed off and don't want to continue, why not just park it out of the way? I've seen people crash in front of me allowing me to carefully glide past. Then they try hunting me down but can't keep up without crashing or crash trying to dive-bomb. I've seen this happen over 2 laps of Nurburgring Nordschliffe and less than a minute before the race ends (when i'm on the long straight), they suddenly exit putting me in last place. Why would they quit so close to the end, thereby giving up any $ they would've received?? After having earned it for 15 mins simply by participating, it seems like a waste of effort for no reward as far as i'm concerned...

Finally, my other pet peev is joining a room which is using a track i want to race on, only for the host to change the track. When i search for rooms i search by track. I have a specific track that i feel like racing on, but some hosts just keep changing the track after as little as 2 races. This can really suck when you're not sure what your top end speed might be with a certain car/PP on a certain track and even worse if the host starts the race as soon as everyone's at the track. This doesn't allow me the chance to test if it's right, because within the first few corners, the race is starting. It's simply a case of trial and error, but usually after the 2nd race i know what my my top end speed needs to be. Now that i have the right setting, the host votes for a track change!? This drives me nuts!

Rant over.

While I can't remember something significant enough to call "My worst GT5 experience ever," there are a few that were quite annoying. Be aware of rage.

1: I join a lobby titled "Car Show" at the TG test track. I just cruise around in an X1 not hitting anyone and the host kicks me for "not driving a real car." The irony of the situation is the host was driving a Formula GT, which by the way, IS NOT A REAL CAR EITHER.

2: Hosts that go AFK (away from keyboard/controller) in a lobby and seem to never come back. Then some moron joins and is wrecking the experience for everyone. I try to get everyone to vote kick the moron and/or the host, but they don't do it!

3: Hosts that go AFK, and when they DO get vote kicked, some idiot becomes the host, kicks everyone out and shuts the server down. This typically happens in lobbies that are actually good and fun.

4: Impatient people in drag lobbies. People do not know how to wait for someone to get ready to drag. They start laying on their horn and a flame war erupts. Then some guy revs his engine and accidentally let's go of the brake and hits another person. Then it's a ramming fest. And the most annoying thing of all: finding a good car to compete against (say ACR vs ACR) and when it's time to go, the guy stops mid race or turns back to race someone else. ATLEAST FINISH THE RACE, MORON!

Rant over. Sorry for all caps at some points. Can we please clean up the online GT5 community?

This didn't happen to me, but someone else in the lobby.
I'm currently in a cop lobby and the host asked "Where are my cops?" and one guy replied saying "no one is." The host replied with "GTFO noob" and kicked the guy.
*facepalm*

I always have to deal with reasons 3 and 4. It's really rediculous and why i am avoiding drag rooms recently.:ouch:

Yeah i know what you mean there. I've been in rooms where the hosts writes,
"brb in 5 mins, need a smoke"
Within 2 mins people in the room started writing things like
"start race"
"lets go" etc...
Well why not start the race first and then go poison your lungs?
Why must everyone else be stuck waiting in limbo while 5 mins becomes 10 mins, which in turn, becomes 15 mins??
After everyone left, the host returns to find his room empty except for me. He then asked me,
"I said i brb. Why did everyone leave?"
To which i replied,
"They're less patient than me. Next time you want a smoke, start the race first!"
Then i left him by himself. :grumpy:

Cruising in a lobby for a little bit and 2 jerks with similar PSN names showed up and were ramming everybody. I then got in my veyron and started ramming for some payback.
Their PSN names have "SINISTER" in them. Watch out for them.

They did get kicked in the end though.

Ugh. I absolutely hate clanboy elitists. They are a cancer to online gaming. Well, EA is too.

I think EA is worst than clanboy elitists. Personally, because they are hogging porsche since they know that there are other gaming companies that would make better use of the license.

The Veyrons are starting to get the same bad stigma as the X1s and Tank Cars.

When i pull out a veyron in clean rooms, it's only when the track is changed to Monza (no chicane), High Speed Ring, or the like. The only issue is that people start to assume the worst until the are relieved that i can actually handle it and reel in this beast...That is, IF they give me the chance to prove myself!

Please note: Generally, i'll only bring out the Veyron to teach Rammers a lesson. By that, i mean i still drive it cleanly, but the sheer weight of it makes it practically unmovable by anything weighing less! I'm not worried if they switch to Veyrons too, bcoz their attempts to ram is compensating for their lack of skill. I let them through first and sit behind them patiently waiting for the inevitable. With no one in front of them to use as brakes, they keep going off track. Once they do, they let me pass and they can't catch up! ...TAKE THAT, YOU ...S!! :P

I know that, I don't use veyrons or x1s that often. Just for when I see some jerks in a lobby that need to be brought to justice. Of course, that only occurs sometimes.

Also, I'm now in a lobby that says "Hondas only" and a couple people decided to use other cars such as a redbull x2011 & subaru impreza. WTF?! I hate it when people don't follow the lobby rule like that.

Hahaa exactly! The sheer weight makes it practically unmovable aye!? Please see my recently edited post for more details on that. (end of previous page)

Ugh, i hate that! I was hosting a room yesterday and i named it "My F1 GP Tracks" because...they are!? Then people start asking to vote for track change...But if i don't stick with the title, potential joiners would mistakenly think it's not my room!?

And agreed, just as with the Ferrari F1s, the X1s should only be racing with X1s. To have a scenario where it's even possible for an X1 to enter a race with any other car is ridiculously unrealistic and unnecessarily pointless.
My suggestion would virtually solve this problem...At least where X1s are unwelcome.

Yeah, the veyron was hard to move when I had to take down some hp to be able to drive it in the lobby. I was able to land a good amount of hits to one of the rammers in the lobby though. I eventually got bored though and switched into my Aventador.

and yeah, there are "x1 only" lobbies, I don't see why they can't join those. The guy in the x1 in the honda lobby I was in said he was using it to set a lap record on the course. I asked why in the lobby and he replied with "because I want to do it here". *facepalm* What an idiot, if someone wants to set their lap record, they should do it outside the lobby in free run or time trial. No reason to do it otherwise. The guy did switch to a honda afterwards though.

I hate this on any track - I went into a room yesterday and all it was for was driving the opposite way down the mulsanne straight and ramming headlong into me. Ruined my night that did.

EXACTLY! Plus they abuse DLCs.

On another note, EA buys out small indie companies, forces them to make games, overworks the employees, rushes the game to rediculous deadlines (every Christmas), and once the game gets bad enough reviews, EA fires the employees and the cycle continues. EA tried to buy out Mojang, who made Minecraft, and Notch didn't want ANYTHING to do with EA.

I say, listen to your fans for once, TAKE. YOUR. TIME. when making a new game instead of rushing out an unfinished game, and the only way EA can move forward is by going backwards. Look at the games prior to 2007. All great titles!

Rant over. (maybe)

I agree, they keep releasing 1 game after another, in less than a year 2. There's 2 NFS games that are released every year. I bet they'll get to a point where they'll release a new game everyday at the rate they're going.

NFS has become the COD of racing games. Same garbage released each year sent to tasteless consumers.

Or even make his own room... :dopey:

Well probably because there are people who have actually mastered controlling the X1 and people like him can't compete with those with such exceptional skills! :dunce:

Yeah, I don't plan on trying to master the x1. I still haven't done the redbull x1 challenge in the special events part of GT Life.

Well i know some people have manged with a controller, but i'm not one of those. I'd been trying on-and-off for nearly a year! I soon realized there was no point until i got a wheel. Within a month of setting up my new G27, i finally managed to get Bronze. The key is controller sensitivity in driver options. The default setting is 5 and i have to turn it down to 2. Otherwise, i can't even keep it on the track.

oh, alright then. Of course, I only have a controller, so it's basically near to impossible for me to do and I can't afford a driving wheel at the moment.
