What are jail broken PS3's?
Illegally modified PS3 ( firmware mod ), enabling the user to copy games from disc to HDD and play from it, jailbroken PS3 give the ability to it's owner to play the games while not having legitimate physical copy of the game, as they can be downloaded from P2P or acquired by copying rented disc or having someone else copy the games
Kind of piracy if you ask me, I have heard of big size HDD sold in certain Asian countries, 1TB HDD full of PS3 games that can be played straight from HDD, and the choices of games can be tailored to buyer's preferences.

It could've just been the game showing the wrong car, I seem to remember reading that happened on this forum a while ago with a much faster car looking like something like a Prius.

I was browsing through the lobbys once, and found this lobby, joined and there were about 12 players, it was a race with random cars on Nordscheleife, 1 lap, with 300-400PP cars, and the objective wasn't race and get to the finish line ASAP, was crash everybody and they were enjoying it! That was quite a shock! The impulse was on max, so if you decided to make an escape, and to get away, it was just impossible!

Very good point, this happened to me a few months back.
I was in a room with some great shuffle heads, top class clean guys who I'd raced before several times. One of them made a mistake & went into Degner very slowly, this enabled me to get along side him before the exit, the second corner. Anyway, I left him a cars width on the exit as I'm a polite racer, however, he ended up in the sand. I felt absolutely no contact whatsoever through my wheel, so concluded that he binned it himself.
Then, he starts bad mouthing me & swearing at me for the rest of the race which puts me off & I make a mistake & end up hitting someone else off. After the race I appologise to the guy I accidentally hit off, but not to the first guy cos I felt no contact. In the next two races he decides to take extreme vengence by ramming me into the wall at every opportunity.
I decide to leave the room & veiw the replay that I saved to see what actually happened. It turns out that I did leave him enough room & that our cars never even touched, we were about 1 or 2 feet apart. I veiwed the footage many times & from several different camera angles & guess what? When I watched his onboard footage, his car appeared to be hit & pushed off track, whereas my car was nowhere near even touching his. Conclusion? I put it down to GT5's lag plus poor colision detection, I presume that my car lagged & hit his car on his screen, while on my screen I was keeping an acceptable distance.
And, the moral of the story is; DON'T ASSUME FELLOW CLEAN DRIVERS ARE DIRTY & RETALIATE AGAINST THEM! CHECK BOTH REPLAYS FIRST!
Because of all the verbal & on track abuse, this guy is now on my blocked list. Shame on him!

I doubt it was lag incidents, the only spots of carnage were at the turns because some people decided to have ABS off. And when I checked the results, it indeed was an NSX.

Were you going through the tunnel when this occured?
It could just be the lights from the tunnel reflecting off of an NSX GT500 Stealth, because Sony and PD have ways of preventing people who hacked their PS3 from playing online.

We were in the tunnel but he passed as soon as we came out. As I said before, the results said it was an Acura NSX '91.

Racing my Enzo at Daytona. The host was destroying everyone before I entered the room. So I jumped into the race with my gold chrome Enzo. Sat in second place the whole 11 lap race until the middle of the back stretch. I dropped back a little bit but still stayed in second. I got a huge run coming off of turn 4 and passed him like he was standing still. He got pissed off and kicked me because I beat him.

I got kicked from a free run room bc I beat the hosts fastest lap from his fastest car, I was driving clean and wasn't ramming and I wasnt in a redbull(I was in my zonda r, and he was in a Jag XJ-R) So I cant think of any other reason he'd have kicked me.

I get kicked rather often from online games, it's frustrating and I have no idea why. I follow the rules and have everything off except abs 1. I choose a car that fits with others on the track, and drive pretty cleanly.
I don't know if it's anything to do with it but this happens mostly in games where everybody is <let's not go there shall we> or something.

Okay, so I was driving my chrome Fiat 500 '68, right? So then, that being my fav car (so much fun to drive), I take it on cops rooms and free run rooms. Out of the 50 rooms that I've been on that say "Cops" or "Free run", I don't get rammed by every 🤬 muscle car or Viper on about 5 rooms. I didn't even get rammed that much in a pink Toyota Prius! (To be fair, it's probably because they were covering their eyes because of how <same goes for you! let's not go there shall we> it looked.)

A few days ago i was in a drift lobby and i was suggesting a guy a tweak for a tune on a new car. As im sitting on the side of the track a kid in a rx8 pulls up next to me says "lets see if you are as good as you talk". I agree and hop into my primary drifter, my m3. This nutjob did not even know what a tandem was and claimed to be a leader of a "top 13 in the world drift team that i could find on gtp". He started the race like a drag using the timer at the top and didnt even drift a single corner and was so proud that he beat me by about 5 seconds using comfort softs and i was on hards, LOL. Someone happened to be spectating and they called him out on the cs's so he swithlched to ch's and spun (and i am not joking) EVERY CORNER. Later the hoat started a race and he was coming up from behind me and tried to pass and i cut him off and he spun. I admit it was a dick move but it was funny as hell.

especially this one guy in a Peugeot on Cote D'Azur.
a few minutes before the race I was practicing in my audi tt. I eventually caught up to this guy in a peugeot. now, I attempt to overtake him by taking the inside line of the corner. He decides to block me and continue driving. There is a straight road (the tunnel part) and sine my car is faster, I try again to overtake him.
HE WON'T LET ME PASS.
I go to the left, he blocks me.
I go to the right, he blocks me.
In protest, I blast my horn at him for a solid ten seconds until the race starts. Everything goes well until that guy in the Peugeot tries to dive-bomb everyone on one corner. he is successful and several people spin out. before the tunnel, I find brad on the side of the road spun out. he quits out of the race and kicks a record five people for being d-bags on the road.
You can barely find a decent clean lobby without someone ruining it, even if it's with friends

Two in a row for me. I was in a "Cops X1 = KICK" room and the track was Monaco. The host was driving a Red Bull X2011 Prototype. Later, another guy joined in the same car and was kicked. 
Meanwhile, I got bored and decided to leave. Then, the game froze and when I restarted the PS3 I got... CORRUPTED DATA! 
How unlucky can one be?

EDIT (January 2nd): Another one. I got kicked twice from Portuguese rooms for being Greek. Racist idiots. I just got into serious racing and discovered I'm rather quick. I also saw a host ragequit yesterday because I was beating his X2011 with my GT - ONE on Route X. 
I still have the replay of the race, which I eventually won.

So, this happened recently to me, I was in a room called "different dirty racing". I go in it, and the guy is running FFs. I say "run LMP", or "run 4wd", and he's like "why don't you shut the 🤬 up". Seeing this guy wasn't the brightest, I go along with it. The room is dirty, and he brake-checks people and rams people, and when I brake checked him once, he said don't do that again or kick. So, I attempt to let him pass me by swerving left on Daytona and braking, and he follows me and crashes into me. Now that I know that I'll be kicked, I went khamakazi on the guy. What fun that revenge was......
