Would you Buy a PS3 JUST for Gran Turismo 6?

Like others, I bought a PS3 just for GT5 but a year after it came out. Because of that I was nervous for what console GT6 would be on. Now I will buy a PS4 for GT7. I have no interest in other games really. And just so happens I can watch blu ray movies too :-)

Would you buy a PS4 to get Driveclub? I bought my PS3 to play Prologue so it is hard to say, there are a lot of choices out there now, would depend largely on what I thought was the better game.

I've been buying Playstation consoles just for Gran Turismo. So if for some reason I didn't have a PS3, I would definitely buy one just to be able to play GT6.

My PS3 is currently operational so I would not buy one just to play GT6.

I might buy a used one if something were to happen... but the PS4 (and now the vastly cheaper Vita) would both be tugging at my dollars.

PS3 with its immense library (and still AAA-titels to come) is far away from being dead because price will drop significally when PS4 is out.

For me personally having two PS3 systems running it is a no.

But I can imagine that there are many out there who will buy a PS3 to enjoy two years of playing good games on it before they switch to "price dropped" PS4. Used PS3 games will get a bit cheaper on Ebay very soon in 2014, too.

Assuming I had never bought a PS3 and/or played GT5, than yes. However, this decision would be mostly influenced by the nostalgia of playing older GT titles rather than whether GT6 is actually a good game.

I already have a few PS3s, but plan on buying another one for GT6, maybe also another one after that if there is finally the 22nm Cell PS3. Might work out cheaper if they do a good bundle and me selling my old console. Will make it a more enjoyable experience if new console runs cooler.

Why would you buy another one if you already have several?

Well I only really use one and that is the one in my room. I am going to 'upgrade' to the new slimmer model as it should run cooler and be more energy efficient. Shouldn't cost much to upgrade. I think it is likely before GT6 comes out, the new revision should be out.

If I didn't already have a PS3, I would wait and see once the game has been released and people have posted their first-hand experience with the game, then only get it if it's a superb title that's the best iteration of the GT-series to date.

Anything short of that, I would put the money towards a PS4 and wait for GT7. And who knows, maybe GT6 makes it way to the PS4 as a digital download.

Lol. I seriously doubt you'll save as much money in electricity as it costs you to upgrade.

Since I already own a system; no.

If I didn't own a system; no, not only for GT6. For GTA V and GT6; possibly.

Yeah, pretty much.
I bought my first PS3 solely for the purpose of GT5, since I already played the other console games on my X360.
Now that my PS3 died on me about a month ago I bought a new one straight off to have it in time for the GT Academy demo.

I bought a PS3 just for GT5, so YES!

Ditto - as we already have 2 PS3's in our household I would not buy another one, but as they are not too expensive anymore I would definitely not advise against buying a PS3 for GT6 (especially used ones appear to be quite cheap IMO).

Cost to upgrade will most likely be very little, who knows might work out cheaper for me. Main point is the console running cooler though given that GT6 will likely push the console very hard, also reliability is another factor. Hopefully there are some good deals near Christmas time with the new 500GB PS3 and GT6 15th Anniversary Edition of the game.
