Budget Classics:
A few rules:
1. You may
not modify these cars in any way, such as dropping in a Ford 302 or 460 or 351 etc. (this does not include maintenance)
2. You may
not say "I'll have none of them" or anything of the sort. If you don't like the car selection, please skip this WYR.
3. This car
must be your daily driver, no exceptions.
4. Assume that because you're looking for a budget classic car, you also have a tight budget for things like parts, gas, and insurance etc.
5. Have fun!(?)
----
1976 Datsun 280Z (stock), $10,000, mostly good condition but needs new paint. "needs work"
or
1972 Lincoln Continental MK 4 (stock), $5,250, restored and includes many extra engine and body parts.
or
1976 MG B (stock), $5,900, excellently maintained and stored in a climate controlled garage, needs (surprise surprise) minor engine work due to oil burning.
or
1952 Dodge Wayfarer (stock), $6,500, single-family owned, a few new parts, runs great and drives nice, mostly original, 57,000 actual miles.
or
1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula (modified), $6,995, custom wheels, possibly other minor things, 301 V8 and automatic...
or
1973 VW Beetle (stock), $7,450, everything is "good", same family owned since new, apparently has 21,000 miles.
or
1970 Ford Maverick (stock), $7,000, 6 cyl, repaint in ~2005, everything is in great condition, runs great, "great gas mileage," "one of the best Mavericks out there,"
I hope its a decent selection.
