Just noticed on the ps store, the base game for ps4 doesn't mention included upgrade for ps5, godamnit.
The special edition does, but is 40$ more at regular price , 106$, goodness, decisions..

Im having quite a bit of fun with wrc8, with old classic cars especially just now.
True that the feel is great on tarmac, and dirt.
Maybe cause i haven't touched dr2 in a while, my perspective is more free.

All versions of WRC 10 are currently DIRT cheap in an Xbox sale. And with a new title announced, I think you should wait either way.
Not that I don't rate 10. I never played 8, but 10 feels amazing on a pad and doesn't have the frustration I sometimes felt with 9 or the DR games. Feels good to be confident about pushing any car to the limit without messing around with settings or setups and any mistakes are just down to your driving.

"All the locations that we made for our seven WRC games are in the game. So, you have more than 20 different countries in the game, which is nearly twice what you used to have in WRC games."

This part sounds great. It seems they're still not listening to the fanbase around other things though, like online. The dailies being grouped into skill levels is a cool idea, but what I want to hear about is proper user-created championships and events with a proper WRC weekend structure like in the season mode. Clubs are so poorly implemented in previous games, and I feel like it's the main thing holding the games back from any kind of longevity.

It would be great to be able create your own championship and cars, I don't understand why it isn't possible. I can't see the reason behind the FIA,/WRC agreement as it doesn't make sense, why would they not allow this ? It's a good thing, why lock us to just the current season and associated cars ? Weird.

WRC G could be my last chance for a long-overdue reunion :nervous:

The focus is but not the Ford-Martini Focus. And given the WRC games feat the Lancia 037 and Delta in 'Martini' liveries, I think WRC G is my best chance for it to happen. - Although even if they just feat the car, users will be able to share liveries in the next game..

It pretty much is the 'Martini' Focus. Given they can't use the Martini branding, same as the 037 and Delta, then it's as close as you'll get without modding.

Cause if they did that then they couldn’t sell you the DLC content for new “events”. That is one of the things I hate most about racers these days. Used to be able to create your own fully customizable custom seasons, even with licensed titles. But that is a thing of the past with DLC.

In this instance I'm not sure I understand as KT don't sell us any new events as DLC.

I read the interview, doesn't really say a whole lot.
Single player changes he only mentioned liveries options, and that all locations from their previous wrc wil be in it, could be just one small stage,,and not same as it was in previous titles, i dont know.

Plus locked behind a gate like the historic mode in 10.

Still great news of course, im hoping really we will get the best epic stages and sss from all past games.
Also the info says 38 historic cars from 20 in wrc 10, maybe it's mostly previous non hybrid cars put into that.

Also he says they cant sell dlc past the license expiration, well when is that? Until end of the year?
Edit: doesn't sound like they plan to release free content updates like for 10 then..

In any case, looking forward to it, and more info.
Edit: also i read somewhere they are adding single modes requested by players, not sure if true but, it be great to have custom rallies, events, etc with any stage, car..

I noticed custom was in wrc7..

Im guessing you can only play career with the new hybrids, but it's just the top wrc series i think that is hybrid for now?

I just got wrc9, i know i know i said im getting 10 but..
Thing is, i go to wheel setup, and there is no general steering function lol, like in 8, only steer left, steer right.

I try set those with the wheel, and if i on rescale, the control gauge seems to show the wheel working ok.

But in game, nothing.
What gives?
Edit: it seems to recognize my wheel, as the preset shows logitech wheel.

Edit: hay nevermind lol, the u.i. isn't too clear, or maybe it just me, but i got it now i think.
Gonna try it now, sound of classics seems much better in 9 vs 8.

Edit: tried on tarmac the old escort, i dont know, feels arcadey, much easier and too grippy compared to wrc8 especially.

Also in replays it seems too fast, which i noticed in videos in the past.

10 seemed slower, more realistic, now i dont know hehe, maybe should have jumped to 10, but the rallies i find better are in 9 and 8.

Oh well, hope other cars will be better for weight feel,,seems to lack inertia, god damn, i was excited at 1st with the sound etc.

Hay.., fingers crossed ill like it still..

Was this an improvement over WRC9? Just seen its £12 on the store hehe. I enjoyed the previous game.
Which game you mean? I just got 9, im comparing it to 8, i dont have 10 yet.

Getting a disappointing feel, worried, seems more arcadey than 8.
Plus on germany stage, some road side things like small curbs dont seem to register physically or barely compared to 8, which admitedly might have had some reactions exaggerated.

Also i just got a total crash lol, wow.
On std ps4.

This is a WRC 10 thread? I had WRC 9 with the PS5 update, pretty impressed with the haptics...im imagining this WRC 10 will be pretty similar. Any improvement on graphics folks?

The colours are flipped though, so it's not as close as you can get, as that's not the case in WRC. I can live without 'Martini' - Just.
The funny thing is, I got sick of people overusing it in other games for custom liveries.

I actually disagree here and think that the jump from 8 to 9 was pretty significant, they're night and day to me, especially as a wheel player. The lack of handbrake support before 9 alone is significant enough.
I'd say go 9 if you just want to test the water for less cash, but go 10 if you want to compete and have more content. Handling model is excellent in both, don't listen to what the online parrots say.
Have to say i agree now that i got 9, i remembered your comment and wanted to say, it definitely went from frustrating, irritating, sometimes boring, but with some good feels in 8,
to enjoyable, thrilling, fun, interesting challenge in 9.

Still needed more inertia, better sounds still for current wrc, 2,3 cars and custom seasons with any car. And maybe better ffb for some cars, unless they are supposed to have less feel in reality, like the lancia 037, on tarmac especially.

Just noticed wrc 10 again on sale on psn, the deluxe ed for 13 cad,,pretty much best i can expect.
Will jump in most probably, it includes ps4 ps5 versions and the dlcs, except i think the subaru?

Of course they have to still nickle and dime you, modern gaming at it's finest, monetized all.

7 bucks and wont be on sale im guessing, they know it's iconic..

I think 10 is the best in the series and once I've completed the rest it will be the one I go back to. The frame rate drop I suffer in Generations has spoiled that version. Currently finishing off my careers in 8 & 9 and loving them. For 13 CAD you can't go wrong.
The base version on XBox is currently £5 but the deluxe version isn't on sale at the moment.

From a physics pov I agree but the sound in 10 is terrible compared to the previous games therefore 9 is my favourite, closely followed by 8 which has my favourite mix of rounds.

Just got into a Hyundai wrc car. Love the game. What is your strategy when upgrading through research? Is there any performance updates that help the feel or do they all just give unrealistically grip etc?

I don't really pay much attention to this part of the game. I get all my team members and make sure my Meteorologist is maxxed out. Then I get all the Performance upgrades, followed by a mix of team and crew. I don't know if the performance upgrades make much difference as I've never done a "before and after" comparison.

I finally got wrc10 a couple months ago, on ps5, and..,
Im loving the feel on my g29.
Hard really to go back to 9 now, i tried it and..

All feels much more right, believable, real, natural.
The cockpit pov, the ffb, the steering itself, the physics, being much more grounded, but with expected skidding, understeer, impacts etc., the sound in cockpit pov,
the current 2 top classes, and the older cars, well most of them, there's a couple if them i dont like much like the celica sadly.

I love the croatia rally, with it's dusty bumpy tarmac, san remo is cool too with slippery leaves.

Curious to try generations at some point, partly to have all the stages, and with most of what i find better in 10 still there hopefully.

Not perfect but im happy.
Replay car sound in roadside cams is pretty bad though for the current 2 top classes, but the classics are pretty cool.

Edit: also animations of suspension, weight transfer etc in replays from roadside cam is much better, cool to look at the handling.

I completed WRC10 tonight on the XBox. Did the driver/co-driver mode with someone on TA then finally got the Fiat 131 through the fog in Portugal under the required time. That's 9 & 10 done. Generations is going to be a grind as I think I'm on level 88/150 and I've won the WRC Championship. I'm now doing a realistic contract which I think is 165 stages!

I'm still enjoying WRC 8 but 7, 6 and 5 are on the back burner. Only 3 left to go!
