WRC Modern Classics Season 2001. Finale!

I'm bloody annoyed. Was going ok on stage 2, ran wide in a right hander and came to a stop facing a pylon. Slowly reversed instead of resetting to track and the car just fell off the road into terminal damage. Rage quit after that.
Arseholes lol

I learned that the hard way in another club too... Final stage, just before the finish.. Same thing. From that moment on, I just take the penalty. It's a lot safer.

Before starting I looked at the results in the club so far and saw a lot of flat tyres and non-finished stages. This rally really scares me anyway, so finishing was the main goal in order to still have a chance at the championship (only because Spinerkopin forfeits these 2 tarmac rallies)
Eventually I succeeded, after only one real scary moment. A stupid mistake at the beginning of ss6. But no harm done, the car luckily didn't fall deeper and got stuck to a tree I think. Swallow the time penalty, and on with it.
looking forward to the battle in the last 2 rallies.

Rallye San Remo has passed, the switchback tarmac proving tough for everyone, but @Belgianwaffle shows they have what it takes to win with a superb victory in the Impreza. @PickyReptail8 picks up a solid P2 in the Focus, whilst @Dreadmed makes a fine return to the podium, a brilliant result for Mitsubishi after struggling this season.

With @Spinerkopin absent from San Remo and @Belgianwaffle taking victory, the gap at the top of the championship has been slashed to just 13 points, with 3 rallies to go, we are in for a real fight for the titie.

In the constructors, Subaru are comfortably clear of Ford, and will likely wrap up the constructors crown at Corsica. Ford should be comfortable ahead of a resurgent SEAT but Mitsubishi aren't done yet and just 15 points separate them for 3rd place.

Up next, the nemesis of GTPlanet rally drivers, Corsica.

Bloody hell. Once again I ruined a rally I was enjoying. Got about 3/4 through the longest stage and cut a line which flipped me over and slid a fair way on my roof. Got going again and finished the stage seemingly ok but with radiator damage. I quit to finish off the next day but when I reloaded for a bit of repair, not only was it a short service stop for stage 7, my car was almost undrivable. Then I hit something which broke the steering.
Not a happy bunny lol

Had to push hard and it payed off. It wasn't easy at all. I'm usually running with the stock setup but there was too much understeer for me so I ended up using one I found for Greece.

I didn't liked the last stage. This layout in reverse was weird. Maybe it's because of the notes, I don't know.

Well done... I had a good run, with 2 little mistakes. But I wouldn't have beaten you. What a pace! I wonder how the standings will be tomorrow 😁

Rally Australia showed its teeth with just over 50% of the field reaching the end of the rally. It was @Spinerkopin who took the overall rally win, comfortably clear of @Belgianwaffle in the pair of Subarus. This result ties the 2 drivers at the top of the standings with one event to go, could it be any more exciting heading to Rally GB?

This is it, the finale, the last dance, the end of the 2001 World Rally Championship and the 57th running of the Network Q RAC Rally of Great Britain. Focusing on the forests of Wales, this wet and wintry rally will test the toughest, and at the end of it, we will have a new World Champion. @Belgianwaffle and @Spinerkopin come to GB level on points, with everything to play for, the 2 Subaru drivers will battle eachother, themselves and the elements to take the prize. Strap in.

I was having a good fun with great speed!! I was on S4 and just a few meters was left when i got an electric shutdown 😂 its like a missed stage and got 8 minute penalty 😂 Sorry @Dreadmed the fight postponed 😂
I was wondering what happened, it didn't even give you a DNF for stage 4, just erased from existence... 🤔

Imagine going flat out on Yumbel long straight geting ready for the sicanne and blackout 😂 tv ps wheel off 😂 and in the very next moment Ps beebs back 😅 and the game cant handel this 😂

It's been a while but I finally finished one of these rallies, to be honest I and the Focus haven't exactly seen eye to eye this season with it's tendency to try and kill me on any fast stretch, my ability to remove the radiator immediately after every service hasn't helped either.

Thanks again for hosting @MagpieRacer these clubs are the only part of the game I touch.

Picked up a puncture 3/4's of the way through Bio Bio, so I effectively ran most of Chivilingo with 3 tyres which cost me a good 30 seconds at least... had a couple of other mishaps along the way but it was still a very enjoyable selection of stages to attack;

I was intending this to be my last event/series before putting the game away, but with the updates hinted at later this year I'll hang onto it for a time, I'll see about participating in Season 3 in a part-time capacity at least (I DNF far too much for an overall challenge 😑).

After a phenomenal season, there can only be 1 winner, 2 drivers went into the final round level on points, @Spinerkopin and @Belgianwaffle . In the end, @Spinerkopin showed why he had been at the top for so long, with a commanding, clean and fast win on the tough, wet roads of Wales, to take the 2001 Championship by just 6 points. @Belgianwaffle finished 3rd on the road, with @Dreadmed splitting the Subarus in P2 with his Mitsubishi Evo, and thereby securing P3 in the championship.

That result also launched Mitsubishi into P3 in the constructors championship, sensationally jumping past SEAT at the very last moment. Subaru and Ford had already secured P1 and P2.

Once again, a massive thank you to everyone who took part, without you all, this wouldn't be worth the effort. The engagement and field sizes has been brilliant for such a long series, so thank you all.

Massive thank you once again to @Speedster502 for the wonderful artwork he provided for the championship.

Final rally results and championship standings will be posted in due course as well as a selection of statistics.

See you next time!

That was a great season! Thanks @MagpieRacer for this club championship. Well done to @Belgianwaffle and @Dreadmed for the podium. And thank you @Adam Barber and @GOTMAXPOWER bacause I basically heard about this event thanks to them 😂

It seems appropriate that a blue Subaru won the 2001 season, congratulations on the championship. Great pace and consistency throughout.

I haven't congratulated you on your victory this season. You deserved it all the way. I was only able to come close because of your forfeites.
I had to rush the last rally, because we left for holiday the next day. But even with more time, I would have been second.
A place I'm very happy with. I'm looking forward to season 3.
Thanks to @MagpieRacer for creating and maintaining this cool club!
