I noticed in the E3 trailer that the rally tracks are still very wide like they are in gt4? this to me is unrealistic because I have yet to see a wrc stage that is 3-4 cars wide. The reason PD made the tracks so wide in gt4 is basicly because the cars would slide far too much and needed the track space . Does this mean that PD have'nt yet perfected the physics for rallying and we'll be stuck with a physics engine similar to gt4?, rallying in gt4 was fun but PD really need to step up to the plate here, they have the wrc licence so all wrc fans should get what we deserve . any other rally fans out there worried about this???

well if wrc in gt5 fails I definatly will be sticking to RBR. As timppaq said, if PD is to succeed with rallying physics then they should take afew notes from RBR, PLEASE PD HEAR OUR CALL!!!

Im pretty confident PD will get it right this time around. :D

I hope so cos on the wrc rally video we saw the cars seemed to float around the marble smooth tracks - so realistic - not.

If you own a steering wheel and the wheel does not move via force feedback on any of the road imperfections then for me this will be the biggest let down in terms of game immersion - when you drive a real car besides the obvious g-forces you feel and through the seat of your pants its the steering wheel which provides you with information about the road beneath you.

PD can't do g-forces or seat of your pants stuff but they can do communicative steering - they must pull out all of the stops in this area.

If you watch the WRC videos on youtube the navigators are always fun to listen to... " Right 5 over crest, left 4 into left 3, straight 500 meter, crest, bumps into right 2 slope... oh s***!". They sound like they are as stressed as mentally possible.

Hmm... seems like the format could still be as it was before. Well, let's hope they get it right.

I hope they put in the game real rally events, but I think they just have drivers and cars from WRC. In the e3 trailers there is the "Toscana Rally" (Tuscany Rally) which doesn't exist.

I doubt rallying will be any good in GT5.

They've had three shots at it so far and not got it right once.

Kaz needs to play RBR to understand where PD are going wrong on this.

- Hopes point to point rally stages will be there
- Hopes notes from co-driver can be heard
- Hope it is absolutely nothing like GT4

Hope rally in GT5 will be like Richard Burns Rally. Point to point racing and better physics is what we need. Rally in GT4 wasn't great.

I think it would be great the inclusion of inferior categories than WRC. For exmaple, JWRC or something like regional rally, where you would create your own cars. The possibility to buy a Peugeot 205 and prepare it for rally and get a rally look with a livery editor. It would be great.
That could be also great for learn how to be fast and how to tune your car in different categories.

Well, I see no use of the WRC license if they're not planning to include real WRC point to point stages, so my guess is that they will definitely include some of 'em.

I'm absolutely confused on why everyone thinks PD only should have rally at all if the physics are anything like this RBR game I keep hearing about. Admittingly I've never played it (never heard of it either at the time), but why does it only have to be like another game to be right at all? Maybe because I have no real driving experiance I threfore cannot understand whys the big deal, but I never had a fit over the physics in Rallying. Sure, I didn't like GT4s Rallying as I had a hard time throwing the cars as sideways without hitting the wall as I wanted to, but I'm not expecting god-like physics to make or brake only that part of the game. Seems like on that topic, people act as if its the end of the world.

There's a difference of night and day between GT4's & RBR rallying physics.. Why everybody mentions it is just because it's the closest model of real rallying that I've tried. Another one could be Rally Trophy. You really get the sensation of driving on gravel and not just on a more slippery surface. Great game.. you you still have ps2 or ps3 that plays it, you should try it. I've heard that you can get it pretty cheap too. :) 👍

Do I need to mention that on both those games the finns have had an influence :sly:

I was pretty content with the Colin McRae Rally series (before it went DiRT). If GT5's rallying is anything like that, I'll be very happy. Never played RBR or Rally Trophy. They need to improve on GT4's rally mode - it was pretty much the worst part of the game.

I started out with Colin McRae Rally but they got worse and worse (after CM3) then tried Richard Burns Rally and never looked back, I still play it to this day when I want my rally fix. I have never been much of a fan of GT's rally events but I hope that changes with GT5.
