The Chippewa National Forest and Kabekona Forest in Minnesota has a major network of near abandoned logging trails that are maintained yearly due to the fact they are also snowmobile trails.

Kabekona is about 20 miles south of Bemidji, which is a town of about 30,000 that would host the Rally America series when it was still a national round. I know it would be a long shot, but in all honesty if WRC would get a round anywhere back in America I would be happy.

I could see that working, but as far as I know, there are no plans to move to America any time soon.

Did the WRC ever come to the US?
Briefly. In 1973 and 1974, the Press-on-Regardless in Michigan was a part of the World Championship, while the Olympus Rally in Washington state (I think) was also a part of the WRC from 1986 to 1988.

Nope. Pikes Peak is not an never has been a part of the WRC, even though WRC drivers like Ari Vatanen have competed there.

That's where I've seen it then. Mouton and Vatanen with Group B Peugeots and Audi's running up the Mountain.

A rally at Yellowstone National Park would be cool. Part Tarmac part dirt.

But I can see the Government being grinch about it.

I'm pretty sure Ogier walked out on Citroen.

I think WRC should start using 100 Acre Wood stages. Ken Block might actually get some points. :P

Just joined the forum, and I just noticed that it has a WRC section, which is great!!
Acropolis rally was so intense.. I can't wait for the next one.

BTW, what do you think about the WRC Polo?? It looks beautiful, but how yo dou think it will perform? Like a skoda?

Ken Block has told WRC.com that he will have to resist the temptation of pushing flat out on some of his favourite stages in the FIA World Rally Championship

Looking forward to the Rally of NZ next weekend. Want to go out to some of the gravel stages but will probably just go to the Super Special through the Domain on day three, as its only ten minutes from my house.

Off WRC topic guys for a moment, here is the IRC 2012 Targa Florio Italy Day 1 Highlights, Gareth Roberts last Rally. RIP Gareth, our thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends... Craig Breen is my fellow county man in Ireland, delighted to hear that he is OK after the accident. Such a shame about Gareth, those 2 lads had such a great career ahead of them as partners.

Very, very tragic and sad about Roberts. My thoughts are with his family and friends, and especially Craig Breen, the poor guy.

Motorsport is dangerous, and I'm sure every race driver out there knows it. But that certainly doesn't make it any easier to cope with the death of a fellow driver to other IRC and various rally championship drivers around the world.

Alex Gelsomino, co-driver for Ken Block, Tweeted; "No words to describe the feeling for the death of fellow Codriver Gareth Roberts at the Targa Florio today. Rest in Peace, Gareth.."

Molly Taylor, IRC & WRC competitor, Tweeted; "Still struggling to understand or accept reality. So many great memories of you, we are all so lucky to have had you in our lives. RIP."

R.I.P. Gareth Roberts. 1987 - 2012.

It is a very sad thing.
Rallying has had very bad press recently in Ireland after 2 spectators were killed and more injured when a car lost controlonly a few weeks ago. The unfortunate death of Roberts will not help the public image of the sport.
My thoughts are with his family and with the Breen family. It is a loss the rallying community will never fully recover from.
RIP.

It's a shame that people tie all the bad things that happen together. Offroad Motorsports in general are way risky than more contained styles. There is always those chances for things to go wrong, but fans love being that close. This situation reminds me of what happened in desert racing couple years ago that made all that news about safety of fans.
