It is a perfectly good excuse. You didn't keep your cool at randy did you? Every time something goes against you, you rant down the mic at them... Its not the fact it was pulling away it was that I was catching it and every time I got past it after setting up a pass for laps it would be for nothing down the next straight. I'm sorry but being wiped out by you and Joe (I know it wasn't anyone's fault) after I made 5/6 passes there without any contact. It was a race that I did nothing wrong in and yet had nothing to show for it apart a pointless race at the back...

I'm sorry for losing my temper with Randy, but the same thing happened at least once a season since S3 (my first season in WSC). He keeps forgetting that being a GT driver he has to stay in whichever line he chooses and us PT drivers have to go around him.

And regarding the Jag-clash, I braked earlier than both of you but still was too close when you and Joe collided and had nowhere to go in order to avoid you...

I'm amazed I haven't heard the Lancia drivers mention its inability to stay in a straight line.

Let's hope Hurricane Trolls does not come back next weekend. :yuck:

Amen, Panoz.. and at all of you guys, I will try to do a better job of holding my line especially when the PT guys and the faster GT guys are lapping me.

I think the Mustang is too slow. I couldn't keep up with lout or you fox once you were passed me. You guys were lapping in the 2:06's and a 2:08 was a good lap for me. Did a 2:07 once; was very surprised to get that lap. 06's are impossible, 05's are just stupid

GT Test Results

All times on Sports Medium tyres @Daytona Road Course w/~full tank

E-Type: 2:06.532- easily the fastest in a straight line, well over 155mph before the first corner, however lost almost 2 seconds to the Cobra in the infield. Will be little contest at Le Mans/Monza/Pescara.
Marcos: 2:09.392- Fun, but ultimately slow, easy to drive, but difficult to drive fast. Lightest on fuel and tyres though. Not for the faint hearted, wheelspin has to be controlled for fast laps.
Cobra: 2:05.812- Fastest car in the field at all but the fastest tracks, great acceleration, great handling but lacks top speed on the other cars.
GT350r: 2:07.329- Bit baffled as to why this is limited to 290bhp, would be more competitive with the full 321bhp. Good acceleration and a half decent top speed. But is severely lacking in the corners.
Ginetta: 2:07.630- Very nimble but strangely slow in the infield, most likely due to the lack of torque hindering acceleration. Perhaps surprisingly posted the 2nd fastest speed at the first corner at 151mph. Will be awesome at Pescara and Le Mans.
Corvette: 2:06.632- Easiest car to drive by far and reasonably quick, no throttle control required. Simply stand on the gas and feel the grip. Best brakes in the field, however it has a tendency to go light at the back under braking for turn 1 and does lack a bit of straight line speed.

Actually, after giving my Cobra a much needed engine rebuild I did a 2:05.425 without too much trouble (.3/4 left around the lap). Alpine I was hovering around 2:05.8/9 with more to find as well. Mustang is still well off the others.

Cobra bites a bit though on the brakes, I'm more suited to the PTs. :D

2:05.0 is way too fast. Benchmark GT time should be in the 2:06s (just want to say I never tested the Stratos, just the Alpine).

Have always said that I have no idea why the Mustang isn't allowed to run unlimited at 320hp, or at least up to 300hp.

;)

You said it. That prick (<are we allowed to say that on here? If not, I apologize) is lucky I wasn't in the same actual room (you know what I mean) or I'd have given out the garrote treatment. Trolls like that deserve to have an inoperable tumor at the base of their spines.

For once, I have races to look forward to. Thank you. What about at the Nordschleife?

Struggling to understand where some cars would be competetive.

If the Jag and Stratos is quickest in a straight line that's Le Mans, Monza, parts of the Nordschleife and Pescara sorted.

The Cobra and Alpine has the fastest acceleration then that's Laguna Seca, Eiger, Spa and the other half of the Nordschleife for them.

That leaves the rest of us to pick up the scraps if anyone disconnects or makes a mistake (didn't see many of those last night). I really like this series, but it does make me wonder how it benefits those not driving the above cars?

Fox, I'd expect the Stratos to be quite a handful,

Looks like the lobby required an Australian last night,

Even the "Official Test Driver" thinks the Mustang needs a boost!

Don't hold your breath. It took me two seasons for Furi to look at the Corvette. We did on his behalf it was upped to 463PP then put back down again within 48 hours.

I say that after two rounds, ALL car specs should be looked at again and if it seems that a car is either running away with it or lagging behind then things should be altered.

The good thing is, is there are two completely different tracks in the first two rounds so we should get some idea how the specs are panning out.

All we need from Furi is an assurance that he will do this.

Uhm, not really. The 3 slowest tracks are the ones at the beginning of the season. (Daytona probably being close to Nürburgring) Too bad I'll be missing one of them.

So, I wouldn't really expect a clear picture from Daytona and Laguna. The Vette is in good shape there. It's later on in the season that it might get tricky.

Wow
I was unlucky not to make it, but lucky not to be part of this "experience".

Next week I´ll be there for sure ;)

So far at Daytona:

Cobra: 2:05.330 - dropped .1 and could probably find another .2 through the bus-stop

Corvette: 2:05.909 - On my 4th lap, .1-2 to come out at least with more runs, but strangely lacks acceleration and yet has a better top end than the Cobra: .05 down on Cobra time at 2nd split, .5 at 3rd.

Seems like the Corvette will be good at the twistier tracks, but come Monza, Le Mans and Pescara it'll struggle. However it is very easy to drive and very consistent so that makes up for it in my eyes.

Can do some more later in the week. 👍

Myself and others will look at this and think how the 🤬 are the likes of you and Snow getting those times out of those cars?

I think the top speed on the Vette is ok, it just needs a loooong straight to get there. I think in this series you can't expect to have a winning car in every race. You're just supposed to hang in there and get the best out of it that you can. :)

Yup, the top speed is fine, it's just the length of time it takes to get there.
