I just gotten off the GP circuit

 You said it STOPPED raining before you got off the GP circuit. Or was that the third time it rained. Well for me, having the rain done by the time I was almost done with my dreadful lap, pitted for damage, did another lap when it started to rain for the third time, and pitted once more because I was afraid of the horrible 100% wetness. It stopped raining after a couple minutes with no wetness ever appearing. Yep, I had to do ANOTHER lap with the wrong tires, which led to the final two laps of the race. I pitted AGAIN once that lap was through, overtook Cammy early on the lap, and finished the race behind you. :( It actually was quite exiting! :dopey:

That was the 2nd/3rd time When it started and stopped when I was coming off the GP circuit. First time it rained around 3 mins into my lap and I wasn't sure when it stopped as I was so focused on driving that I accidentally put on wets for an extra lap when I didn't need to

So basically, the same thing almost happened to you, and mostly did, though my hardships were more extreme. Correct?

Sorry I wasn't able to show up, stuff sorta changed at the last minute so I was abit stuck. I should be able to show up for the Le Mans Classic and thankfully because of all the time I already have in my chosen car, I should be able to keep my car on track and not drive like a noob

I'm not gonna lie that it was really difficult to choose between my longtime favorite (Cobra Daytona Coupe) and my new found favorite (Corvette Stingray Concept Racer), but the ability to change color on the car was literally the one deciding factor as these are the only two I have.

I thought you were in a 250 GT Berlinetta? :dopey:

Although you are reserve status entry only, you (and other reserves) are free to show for the Test Day from 7pm BST friday.

I have no idea how I managed to get 3rd in class. I think I was in the pits about 8 times, and I cobbled together a setup with softer springs and shock absorbers and a raised ride height. During the second deluge, I came into the pits and left with SS tyres, but the track was drying up by the time I got onto the Nordschleife.

Oh no, I was just wondering why the 250 GTO (the better looking 250 in my opinion) wasn't up there with the others. I can't even afford it or the GT Berletta at the moment

It's simple: The BMW 507 is awesome on the 'ring. No wonder, after all It's German!

250GT Berlinetta is in, 250 GTO is in within 2 seasons :)

Ah. Going off this Timeline you mention, is that the same reason the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ3 isn't here as well?

I shall be there then (provided GT6 wants to cooperate with me).

*TZ2 - had a good run as it's own 1 make car on GT5. It is unique for having full aero. Also, it isn't done yet ;)

Probably going to get a 2nd chassis out for Le Mans and the rest of the season.

Then once the season is over i'll decide on what car and class i'll be for next season

What a race! I think I may be the only driver in WSC history who has managed to both lead in class and be last in class all in a race. It was a slog getting back to podium after a horrid first few laps... Great driving by all!!! Mine and Furi's dance of damage and nerves was amazing and so tiring...

Also a shout out to Jammy for a great little fight in the middle of the race

Well.. that was like I said... was my Green Hell. That place and I just don't get along. I will be doing a lot of practice around LeMans... I'll probably have the driving line on so I can learn the new layout before doing the test day.

All I know me and GT40 don't like rain. My plan was to take easy driving but some how I always forget to take easy and started pushing harder - and get damaged at some point.
All I hope we (me & GT40) get one sunny race. Please Furi

Well that race was like having your teeth pulled!

Spun out just after the start on cold tyres and it went down hill from there. I never really recovered from that. Then the rain arrived and the Cobra does not really like the rain. By the end of lap 12 Joe was catching me up so I dug a bit deeper to try and avoid that happening but alas as I approached the start/finish line he caught me and then there was a massive lag spike and he ran right into the back of me destroying the rear of the car, but I decided to carry on regardless then as I approached Aremberg I lost the back end and destroyed the front of the car and the engine so I just decided to stay out of everyone's way and park it.

Please drop this track from the calendar Furi because on other circuits I would have got back to the pits but here that's all but impossible.

And I totally agree with Jammy, less rain next season @Furinkazen if you don't mind!

Love it or hate it, to drop the Ring would be sacrilegious.

I do agree though that there's a liiiiitle bit too much rain in this series. I mean, I think it's good every now and then, because it challenges you, especially in endurance races, if you can't rely 100% on the weather, but, if we're trying to emulate real conditions, probability of rain overall is never so high that you have rain in every race. And looking at this season we had...

  • a downpour in Daytona (it's Florida, dammit!)
  • 2/3 wet race in Silverstone
  • rain on the last lap in Monza (lucky escape there!)
  • half a wet race on Nürburgring
I think the evidence suggests that the weather changeability settings are a bit too high in general. Then again, being from the UK, you must think it rains all the time, but in the rest of the world, we actually sometimes go for weeks without it. :D

Now, if only PD told us what those weather settings actually mean in terms of probability...

Forget the GPS data-logger and 3D. Best additions in a long time...

Adjustments to the Open Lobby
  • From the Member List, it is now possible to see the Performance Points, maximum output and weight of the cars that have joined the room.
  • An “Overall Best” time is now displayed on screen while in Practice, Qualifying, Time Trial and Drift Trial.

Other improvements and adjustments
  • The Traction Control System (TCS) which is activated when driving off-track is now used only in sand/gravel pits.
  • The strength of the “Real” option for the [Slipstream Strength] parameter within [Race Settings] when creating a room in [Open Lobby], has been weakened.

I was in Birmingham last summer, I think for the 10 weeks I was there it rained less than 10 times.

BTW, I'm a bit disappointed in v1.06...still no updated DLC...:(

How about every other season then? That would be some sort of compromise

I have an answer to the rain situation.

Decide what time of virtual year you are running this series i.e. Spring/Summer or Summer/Autumn and see what rainfall figures are at that circuit.

Example for Monza

As you can see there are few days between Spring - Autumn where it rains but when it does it looks like they are heavy showers.

Now compare that to Spa:

Seems it rains there 7 days out of 10

Just an Idea.

Randomise the weather settings. For example, you'd probably not use changeability settings above 5. So use a random number generator for the numbers 0-5 to determine the settings.

You could do the same with surface water and weather conditions with the numbers 0-100 (or is it done in 25% increments? In that case use the numbers 0-4, 0 being 0%, 1 being 25%, 2 being 50% and so forth).

The only bit I hate about the weather system is that it dries a tad too fast and the 1.05 update brought sudden downpours which means in 3mins the track is 100% and you have no idea what just happened.
