I'd also like to come to a final decition regarding the points system. Can we all agree on this one? And if not, I'd like a good reason to why, and also another suggestion. 👍
Point system:
Mixed class point system:
D1.1: 55p
D1.2: 49p
D1.3: 43p
D1.4: 37p
D1.5: 32p
D1.6: 27p
D1.7: 22p
D2.1: 32p
D2.2: 27p
D2.3: 22p
D2.4: 19p
D2.5: 16p
D2.6: 13p
D2.7: 10p
Same class point system:
01. 55p
02. 49p
03. 43p
04. 37p
05. 32p
06. 27p
07. 22p
08. 19p
09. 16p
10. 13p
11. 10p
12. 8p
13. 6p
14. 4p
As you can see, D2 will give more points compared to the last 7 spots in the D1 suggestion. Part, because it's impossible to create identical point tables since we want to give the same points for D1.5 and D2.1. And part because it will garantee you that you'll get more points for finishing in a sertain spot in D2 compared to the D1. This is to make up for the lost possibility to end up higher than 5th in D1 as a D2 driver.
And I did try to balance the amount of points handed out to the level that you should get more points when racing in D2, but not to the level that it will have a huge impact depending on which races you can't join. I also hope that this system will work as a motivator to participate in the races where we run 2 divisions. As it has been during season 1, it kind of felt like some did not think it was worth competing in D2, which lead to a low turnout.
I hope that all these small changes will help us keeping the number of drivers up to a good and even level during the entire championship. 👍
I've also reduced the gap between positions compared to the one we are using now. This, and the new rule where we will use ballast will ensure that the championship will be extremeley tight all the way to the last round.
