Xbox One volume issue

I updated my Xbox One YouTube app earlier and ever since, during video viewing, the volume has been setting itself lower and lower until no audio can be heard. A small volume bar was appearing in the upper right quarter of the screen counting down to 0 each time it happened. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've tried looking for help online but the YouTube help pages are absolutely useless and there doesn't seem to be a way of contacting them. The console settings don't offer any help either.
