First I brought you this wireless performance:

Now I bring you this wired performance of the same internet connection:

Oh yeah. :D

Thats wireless to the laptop.

Our neighbor in the next apartment over has a 2.xx download and a .xx upload! lol Ping was about the same tho.

Probably helps that when the cable guy was over to figure out an issue he gave our apartment a direct line bypassing the apartment building's branch unit! 👍

This is current, but I think the internet in this area is having some problems.

Yesterday I had this:

Why is the upload so slow?

I upload faster on a Sydney server than you do.

Also, this is at Brisbane near my place but I have downloads going.

The Sky router is improving, on my laptop, no wonder my PS3 was seemingly doing okay on COD4 this morning! No wait, now my wireless connection taskbar tag is telling me it's down to 11.0MBps compared to 36.0 MBps when I did the test all of 3 minutes ago. I can get about 7.5MBps and 1.3MBps upload on the wired PC downstairs. This is on an 8MB deal with Sky for £5 a month, got a 40GB usage limit. God knows how close I come to that, anyone know how I can tell without asking them?

Wowwwwwww, nice.

@Sureboss, yours is nice to for 5 a month. We pay 69.99AUD a month to get ADSL1 with 80gb usage. We tried asking for ADSL2+ but it is apparently not available here which doesnt really matter because we are moving in 2 or so months. Its a shame really, this area is one of the richer parts and 75% of people here cant get ADSL2+...

We pay $60AUD for 20GB a month, we did pay $40 for 5GB. (ADSL1 i think) I live in a remote area, so if you can't get it where you live, the chances of being able to get it here are also pretty remote.

What's the difference anyway?

7ms?? Wow.

Same as my Desktop usually is and this is on my wireless laptop.

For some reason I cant choose Brisbane as a host (closest city to where I live), I used to be able to, its like it got removed or something.

7ms?? Wow.
Over a wireless connection, no less. :) But the server I used for testing is located around 20km from my location. Ping times on servers outside The Netherlands (but within Europe) are generally somewhere around 20-50ms (depending on location). The 50ms you're getting on a server that's 450miles away is not bad at all.

Never thought about that 450mile gap to be honest. On my wired connection I get 43ms to the same server as you can see on the previous page. I wish we could get ADSL 2+ which is basically equivalent tp what all of you 10mbs people are getting. We have tried to get 150gb plan for 69-89AUD a month but each time we try (time distance of a few months) its always unavailable in our area. Fairly rich area with almost all the residents having ADSL1. Hopefully when we move in a few weeks we might be able to get some decent internet.

Strange ping time! Weird upload too.

We must now be on the 20MB plan we just upgraded to. £10/month. Unlimited usage.

Mine is 19 megs down and 1.9 megs up. Comcast cable.

What's your cost for that service? We have to pay through the nose up here for any kind of bandwidth. Close to $6/mb/mo. of bandwidth service.
