LOL, our country is such a dinosaur
LOL, our country is such a dinosaur
First I have heard of that! If she goes through with it I will be so glad but usually they just make crap up before an election to try and swing us over :/LMAO so true, Hear's to Gillards plans of a super fast internet nation. LOL we dont even have ADSL2+ is all areas let alone optic everywhere.
So yeah thanks to the post by Famine below I checked the website and it seems my line can only support 6Mb max. Which is a shame. We're paying for an 8Mb service so I can't imagine it will go much higher though.
If you go here and tap in your phone number (more accurate) or postcode (less accurate), BT will tell you what the maximum speed they think your line can support is. We have an "up to 8Mb" package with PlusNet, BT rate our line to 1.5Mb, my router reports 1.56Mb and Speedtest.net give us 1.2Mb to Manchester.
BT thing said that 2MB/s was all I could expect on our line on an "up to 8mb/s" package.
I hate how ISPs do that.
BUMP:
and while I was at my house in Japan:
