Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. Takes a while to get across all that nothingness. If you have Star Trek internet, then why is your ping 27?![]()
Sorry.I actually just became eligible for an upgrade to my own cable connection...came in here to chat about it, only to see that, @TB.![]()
Upload is pretty consistent but download results are all over the place. The fastest I'm seeing is 145/38 then the very next one is 35/30. Run it again - 75/35 then another 150/38. Also, the download spikes very high and then drops while most other speedtests I've run start low and ramp up. I are confused.@TB, I'm hosting a mini speed test on GTPlanet's server. Give it a try, I'd be interested to see what you get
@Bopop4 Because ping is more like an echo. Your computer shoots out an "echo" packet to the server in Kitchener. That number is the amount of time in milliseconds it takes for at server to receive that signal and send the echo back. This is less about speed, and more about the "traffic" and the way it is handled and routes a packet has to go through to get there and back. This and a higher upload speed is more important to internet gaming then download speeds.
