We need a solid hood view - just ahead of the windshield/wipers. Why can't they figure that out - who drives with the head sticking out of the sunroof ? Thats what the roof shot looks like.

I noticed something, In the "Standard cars" You can see the fully modeled driver With GT5p style livery, And parts of the interior IE dash, steering wheel, seats, door panels, the color of the interior....Any body else find that interesting?

At 0:26 you see a Very beautiful Alfa romeo Giulia spirit Speciale, As you can see, if you pause, You will see the interior as well as the driver him self,

I am wondering if GT5 will have a basic interior view for standard cars BECAUSE of our constant nagging, and KY is keeping it a secret. Here's how I see things:

Complain about damage in GT4/GT5P: Damage in GT5.
Complain about smoke in GT series: We get (somewhat) improved smoke in GT5
Complain about reverselights in GT series: We finally get reverse lights in GT5 (I didn't see this coming!)
Complain about skidmarks: We'll see, hopefully in a few weeks ;)

i think the standards are beautiful. and i hope they have cockpitview. becaus there is no bonet or hood cam. the roof cams are horible

look at 0:24 the roofcam of the ford focus. the antenna!

There are 2 Hood views in GT5p
The Subaru Impreza WRX and the Jaguar !!!
Why would PD use the roof cam in 69 cars and leave the hood for 2 or 3? You're just forcing yourself to believe they were hoods, they were just too high.

Also the F1 car :)
Wrong, that's the roof. And the other view is the cockpit simply because you see the wheel and the hands on the wheel.

Which one? All the videos I saw with sparks looked pretty good, like the one posted by DonZonda.
Pretty good? It was WAY too much

I prefer no sparks at all instead of this.
At 2:30 they looked something like this, very unrealistic. Not to mention that they went through the car

.

Every single car has a pilot with a helmet, a basic seat, a basic dash (more like a box with some textures), even in GT4 and even with tinted windows.

And the plot thickens. With screen captures such as this, I see this thread not coming to a head until November 2nd.

I can clearly see the driver's helmet. That could mean nothing more then PD rendering what we can see come Race Replay's, or it could mean much, much more.

We already discussed this before actually.
It's just the GT5 driver model which replaces the silhouette driver from GT4.
Doesn't mean anything, the rest of the "interiors" has the same level of detail as GT4.

A majority of GT4 cars had simple driver silhouettes, but PD did add a modeled helmets to a few cars,
such as this RE Amemiya RX7, also the driver head moved around and was not fixed. I don't have the Red Alfa Romeo? above,
but imagine if bring that car up in GT4 you will see it to.

And who drives hang gliding behind their car? ;) But in racing games, it seems chase cam is the most popular.

This is why a variety of driver views exist, so everyone has a choice. Mine happens to be roof cam.

By the way, there's still plenty of time left for production polishing. There are about 99 days till release. Yay, double digits!

The red car at 0:31ish...is that a Pantera? Edit: on second thought, it looks a lil bit more like a Stratos. I could be still be wrong twice lol.

I can imagine the textures will be swapped out with much higher quality ones, the textures on the GT4 cars where certainly lower in quality than the originals textures made, but the wheels which are 3d modeled have a low amount of polygons look terrible, which in GT5 will be hard to hide. Maybe the wheels can be switched out with premium wheels. The wheels are usually modeled separately from the car. But even that could be an enormous task with 800 cars. The image of the RX7 was overexposed to lighten up to show the interior but made the image look bad. :)

Just to add regarding the wheels, they might already exist. the cars in the showrooms have wheels with much higher polygon count.

Using a showroom car in game would of slowed the frame rate down. Since it wouldn't seem logical for PD to model 1500 cars in GT4, but to model one car, make a copy, adding better textures and wheel for the showroom car. Lower the texture quality & use lower poly wheels for in game car. I think the starting point for the Standard cars in GT5 will be from using the Showroom Cars, not the in game cars most of us might be thinking of.

I'm guessing standard car's are the Original very high quality cars Pd made as a basis for GT4, But had to seriously downgrade them, to put them in the game.

I don't think many people think that.

Yep. The consensus is PD is using the more detailed models in GT5, a.k.a the GT4's showroom/photomode models.

Although that pic is from photomode, it's from "race photomode". Therefore, it's not using the fully detailed model so, thankfully, there should be a noticeable improvement. The extent of this improvement is what worries me. Looking at that picture all I can think of is "well, it's better than nothing" but, honestly, I'm not convinced. This two-tier thing is just otherworldly. I guess I'll have to play the game to find out if I'm fine with the standards or not, after all.

Nope dude you are wrong , put GT5p in your PS3 and take the Impreza Sedan and the Jaguar XK , they have definitely a hoodview , and that views are even lower than the so called "bumper cam" which is on the windshield and not the bumper.

Call me crazy, but these look pretty darn photo real to me just in GT4. Oh, and for the record I prefer roof cam, but it does have to be done right.
