You don't get it. This thread is called Your thoughts about "standard" vs "premium" and not Your thoughts of "standard" vs "premium" and how these car models compare to forza car models.

IF a person mentions Forza vs GT in anyway (car models etc) it is off-topic.

Nero I have to say, It's not just this thread it is a few others... BUT The problem lies in the fact that the closest thing resembling a standard vs premium debate (not argument) is forza 2 compared to GT4 models..

But because someone mentions Forza in a GT thread does that make it a criticism?

Would that mean if I said I would love GT to a have F1 2010 weather system? does that deserve a ban? No Because it is ridiculous!

At no point have I ever said a bad word about any game. Yes there are things I dislike...

People need to understand the difference between mentioning something in general or comparison... not just going oh look at that vid, man that game is .... 🤬

What's funny is that some people say Forza wouldn't exist without GT (which I don't say is not true), yet right now it would seem that this thread wouldn't stay alive without Forza. Irony much?

EX. The premium cars in GT5 are considered new gen with games such as Forza3 and NFS, the Standards are old Gen

I don't agree with that statement, so I could compare a standard car with any of those games to validate my point valid It still deals with standard vs premium

We are talking about GT5 cars here. Especially, your opinion on the Standard and Premium tiers. Nothing else. What Forza 3 has to do with that, regardless if it's new generation or not, is something I don't understand, and that's probably because it doesn't make any sense.


Anyways, I'd rather stop while my computer is still intact.

We have no specific issue with any picture being used for comparison purposes, as long as that is exactly what they are used for.

Unfortunately almost every time that's done the thread ends up in a FM vs GT argument and takes an age to get back on track. Do a search against this thread using the word 'Forza' to get an idea of how many post you get back and then take a look at they for a very good idea of exactly why the staff have an issue.

As I mentioned above, I have no issue with the use of pictures for valid comparisons at all. However from now on you guys are responsible to keeping it on track, fail to do so and its going to get locked. If that happens (and I hope we can avoid it) and the mess spreads to other threads then those responsible will find 'interesting PM's in their in-boxes.

The only comparison which is relevant is the one I can make for myself in GT5 where this whole two-tier system is in place.

Depends on the point. The most annoying in my book is people stating facts that are actually not facts. To prove them wrong only clears up further confusion for other members etc.
If that comes as a detriment to the person posting there assumptions as fact, that just goes with the territory.

Opinions I have no objections too at all, and welcome them. Everyones untitled to an opinion.

Some here would like only positives to be posted. Where as I prefere a more open objective forum, which thankfully the mods allow.

I agree, BUT everyone no matter what background or knowledge deserve a right to say what they feel (within reason) .. But to jump down someones throat because of something so absolutely trivial is mad...(not directed at you)

I agree, everyone at some point is wrong or needs to be put right, but when the person that gets it wrong is made to feel like they are jumped on... they shouldn't be made to feel like they are an outcast so to speak..

Personally I welcome any conversation on any matter concerning GT, or anything in general... I've been a lurker for years, but.... I come here for a discussion and for others to jump down other peoples throats about something so trivial is silly.. and I feel like I have to speak up..

This isn't me sitting slagging anyone off. I just come here to talk about cars/ GT etc.. It's just when people are afraid to speak their mind, or feel like if they do they get jumped on..

We should be able to make comparisons without someone's rump getting sore over it. Heck, Forza has a few things which mop the floor with other racing games, like the body upgrades and livery editor. We SHOULD be able to discuss things like this without childish tantrums. Act like adults, and we'll get along fine. Right?

Considering the amusement it seems to bring you, you were waiting for me to make a mistake apparantly as I typed my last post before you're post was posted.
I'm more than willing to admit any mistake I might have made as I was under the assumption or interpreted the warnings as I made clear.
