It's probably the ones I want to drive that don't have cockpits. Do we have a list of which do and don't?

Here is the list so far.

Just made an up to date list of premium cars confirmed so far. Currently 153 cars, so still room for surprises. ;)

I'll be surprised if the Subaru 360 (hoping for the SS Young version), Mazda AZ-1, Honda Beat and a few other kei cars won't be Premiums in the final version. Not really related with the latest posts, but I imagine that at least 8-10 more Premium cars missing in the above list will be of that kind. Personally I love them, but many people here seem not.

From a few of his comments at Gamescom, my guess on some of this situation is just the irony you get with Kaz.

He makes a great game, and maybe this has been said before, but he seems to be like a kid in a candy store. I want to have this and that and that and this, so on and so forth.

But when its checkout time he can't carry all of it out the store, so he has to scurry around agonizing over what to put back on the shelf.

I think thats the essence of the 5yr blueprint and part of the reason for this situation.

You know, that's probably right.

Now that we found out they were working on karts for GT6 and had them pretty much done before GT5 came out, that appears to be right. Kaz just goes about making things without much planning apparently. I'm not surprised they took 5 years to make this game. It just smells poor planing, lack of focus.

Its kind of dumb to count every NASCAR livery as a seperate car, and I seriously hope that PD haven't been doing the same thing.

They do, like most developers, even in PC simulations liveries are almost every time counted as seperate vehicles.

So what did you use before GT5? Did you refuse to play GT1-4 because there was no cockpit view?

I think it's silly to ignore 800 cars because of the view, but that's just me.

Considering they will all drive differently than in GT4 and GTPSP because of the new physics engine, why deny the option to use these cars?

At some point you will likely be forced to if you want to complete the game. One make races anyone?

at least they should have made even average cockpit for the standard than black tinted glass only just to make all cars uniform

I think the Subaru is possible as a Japanese counterpart to the Fiat 500. Anyway, I'll be seriously disappointed if there'll only be Impreza's as premiums from Subaru. I'm hoping for at least one Legacy, one SVX and the 360 of course. :)

I still don't see why everyone has just accepted that 800 cars won't have an interior view. The only way I can possibly think that 800 cars would not have an interior is if the those 800 standard cars have been heavily upgraded on the outside, and have gotten massive sound upgrades for most of those standard models, leaving little space left for cockpits, and if that's the case, then I won't mind the lack of interior.

I know Kaz is a perfectionist, and that's cool, because I've been one for some time now, but seriously can't PD make at least 500 Forza quality interiors leaving 300 without any interior. Only 200 sounds really ridiculous. lol, but like I said, upgraded engine noises, and exterior for these cars, and I can probably forget about the interior.

Well no matter how disappointing it is that 800 cars will be tinted glass, I just realize that GT5 graphics is so next gen and im happy fort that at least

^^^
I thought I'm only one who *already completely* happy with all that GT5 will deliver.

Count me in! I'm stoked about what GT5 is about to deliver us this November! It's impressed me with each new feature revealed and I'm really looking forward to delivery of the game into my hands!

I´m not worried at this point because, being serious, who wants to have a supermegadetailed cockpit of (for example) 93's Honda Prelude??

I want to play gt5 in this life so I think 200 premium cars are enough.

For what I am really worried is for the absence of wet tyres in the tuning screens

Acceptable number for me for premium is at least 30O. Almost 200 is not acceptable
So don't buy the game then, instead wait for GT6. No? So don't go saying it's unacceptable then, because if it really is unacceptable, you really will not buy the game.

Im with you also. I dont get why so many people are moaning. I have read their comments and theyre just being picky.
I disagree.

80% of the cars are comprised of standard car models from past games. Only 20% of the cars truly use the new game engine. As a statistic, that's not particularly good.

However, 20% is still 200, which is a large number of cars, and more than what a lot of other racing games ship with in total. So, this is a good thing. On top of those, we have 800 other cars to race with, so that's good too, but this is where I wish they had taken a different approach.

Like most people, I don't intend on experiencing each and every car in the game "just because". Like most people, I will have a handful of favourites and stick with those for the most part. So, having 1000 cars, for me, is massively OTT. How much time and effort did it take them to redo those 800 cars? I've no idea, but I do know that I'd rather just have 300 stunning looking premium cars in the game. That is more than enough choice for anyone, but anyway, we have what we have and I'll enjoy it all the same. I just hope that this is the last we see of GT being padded out with old content.

Premium cars will most likely be sold from their respective manufacturers CAR DEALER as new cars. That's what a few people have come to conclude. It makes sense that standard cars would be sold from the used car dealer.
A '88 Toyota Supra isn't exactly new though, is it? So I can't see why it couldn't be sold in the used car dealer.

EDIT: I see your point though and maybe you're right.

What I think today (maybe it goes like this):
Used/Old cars are Standards
New/Legendary/Special/Racing cars are Premiums.
It will be nice!

The Cappocino is neither new, legendary, special nor a racing car, but still its premium. There are many examples like this.
You will probably be able to play the GT mode without ever needing a standard car.

But Iam happy as it is. In the end I will enjoy the game though some of my favourite cars will only be standard.

Do you ever have anything positive to say or are you always deliberately negative just so you can get a reaction. Rather than being positive that we have Go-Karts for GT5 instead of GT6 you see this as an opporuntity for being negative yet again.

Do yourself and others a favour and don't buy GT5!

Graphics engine =/= Game engine. The physics will still be there and I think thats a big plus for most people to play their favourite cars from previous games with new and improved physics. I'd rather the 800 standard cars added on instead of a standalone 200 premium cars.

Its not that Go-Karts are a bad inclusion, its great,
The point is (assuming Kaz wasn't bull****ing again) that the karts were being worked on for GT6,
Why when there was/is so much needing attention/completion in GT5(ala standard/premium fiasco/ livery editor) are they working on GT6,
So many people are backing up Kaz and PD saying they only had 140 or so staff working for them, then some of them go off working on GT6,
I'm sorry but thats just insane, and seems Kaz went off (with some of his team) on a tangent.

Saying a person who criticises the games faults shouldn't buy the game is a childish, basic response,
Just becasue we are criticising the game dosnt mean we are not fans, I suspect in some case many of the "whingers, moaners and nit-pickers" are much bigger fans then the "lets just accept it, Kaz wills it" brigade.

I'm happy for anyone who can see past Standards/Preiums situation, more power to them, I'm sure they'll enjoy the game,

But I know there'll be a tinge of dissapointment everytime I go to buy a car that I like and then dont buy it becasue it turns out its standard,
I'm certain many of the cars I love wont be Premium even though they are pretty famous cars that have every right to be Premium,

And what the hell is gonna happen when we try to bring a standard car into photo travel, or will that be another aspect of the game with 'but' attached to it:nervous:

Seems to me like you are totally missing the point. Gran Turismo is a constantly evolving series, and Kaz surely had ideas right back before the original Gran Turismo that he still has not been able to implement, either because of technical limitations or other more important additions. Things like Karts will have been developed as part of the roadmap, intended for GT6, but circumstances meant that they decided to bring that forward for GT5. This does not mean that resource was needlessly sacrificed in order to bring it forward.

Development of GT6 is not "in addition to", or "instead of" GT5. It is all part of the same programme. When Kaz decides he is happy enough for the current build to be deserving of a full release, that will mark the cut-off point and GT5 as you know it will be born. Development will continue further, and we'll end up with GT6 eventually.
