I'm glad others found GT4 to be a bit weird. I loved 1-3 and then 4 came along and it felt like such a chore, especially as I'd got my license a few months after launch and with the benefit of country roads near-by, I was able to hoon around a fair bit to gain experience.

That's why I'm sceptical about GT5, as I've not managed to play GT5P as yet, so I can only go by people saying it is very good.

They looks good because of low resolution video. On Full HD they you will see true power of premiums! ;)

(but yeah, they look ok!)

Its only looks, but the Physics will be the same as Premium cars.

Many people I think need to realize Standard cars wont have GT4 Physics and that once they play with Standard car, they will forget the Graphics problems right awya

I don't understand why people have been thinking that the Standard Cars will play like GT4 in any capacity. Most of the GT4 car roster was in GTPSP, and while we can't say for sure what physics engine it used, they still didn't have any of the problems of the GT4 engine, playing a lot closer in spirit to the Time Trial demo than anything else.

And once they've forgotten about the graphics, they'll cycle trough the camera views, won't find a cockpit view and won't have the same experience while, for example, racing in the rain as they would in a premium car.
Would you file something like that under 'just looks'?

How many cockpits were there? The rear view could be fixed though right?

Around 70 ( only the GT-R Proto didn't ) and they are all beautifully done and I didn't notice any rear view issues by the way.
You can view ahead ( obviously ), back ( showing rear seats or engine cover, etc. ) and left and right ( showing passenger side, etc. ).
All the dials seem to work ( even very small digital ones ) and it all appeared more accurate than other games I've played which had this feature.

70 is alot compared to the 200 we've got now.
They must have banged them out at a fast rate.

I know it's spilt milk but going by the rate they did surely the 1000 mark would have been approachable.

Shame really.

We have at least 254 Premium cars, and almost certainly more.

1000+ vehicles minus 756 Standard cars equals 254+ Premium cars. That's more than enough by my standards.

Were prologues cockpits really that bad?

That couldn't be further from the truth. Prologue in fact uses the same car models and interiors as the final product will. Only the lighting and environmental graphics are improved, although that, of course, is by no means to say vehicles won't look utterly stunning.

Well, at least it shows that they can bang them out for GT6. I really hope GT6 is the traditional content motherload to follow in the path of the platform debut, and we get a ton of premiums, tracks and features to run in GT5's game engine. But I fear we're out of sync now, because of how long 5 has taken. The PS4 will come and they will be mesmerised with the new possibilities and release GT6 Prologue, haha.

Theres so many cars I'm fine with any lineup. For me if an Exige 240 or faster is in then I'm more than satisfied premium or not.

Seeing it hasn't been in a GT game before (am I wrong?) then it would likely be a premium if it is included.

I feel GT6 is more likely to be released on the PS3 rather than the PS4. You can pretty much guarantee PD are already converting the standards into premiums.

My prediction of the future is GT6 will be released around 2013. The PS4 won't be released until between 2014/16. Also the PS4 will not have an optical drive and will be released with a 1TB HDD. All games will be purchased online. So if you work in a Game store make sure you hand in your notice around this time because buying games from shops/online retailers will be a thing of the past.

I would explain further but I need to jump back into my time machine.

P.S the above depends on whether we survive Dec 21st 2012!

That too, cockpit mode is important like you have mentioned. Maybe PD should create a patch for all standard cars to have a middle dashboard view so that way you can see the cool rain effects on windshield. But for me and many others, its only looks, what matters most, its the physics. .

Oh forgot to mention SOUNDS. I hope PD does not screw things up. I remeber CLK 55 in GT4 sounds.. bad. In PSP GT game, CLK55 sounds almost as the real thing.

One question:

How much will the PS4 cost? $1000?

For me, cockpit view, sound and physics are all equally important, with graphics not too far behind. If I only cared about physics and sound I wouldn't give a damn about GT5, I'd be focusing on games like iRacing, Live for Speed, GTR/RACE and its derivatives (of which I've wasted most my time playing of any games). GT5 needs cockpits and needs graphics for me to shell out the $450-500AUD for a PS3. That's just my perspective though ;)

Would GT PSP cars, such as the Bugatti Veyron and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, would be considered standard cars? If I remember, there was a spoiler glitch for the Veyron, so I hope PD fixes that.

So you're telling me that not a single fan has openly complained about FM3 or F1?
I mean, he didn't say all fans, did he? No he didn't.
Funny thing is that everyone here who complains about GT5 is almost instantly badged as a troll/not a true fan.

I think this is well stated. I have criticized GT, FM and Racepro non stop, but I have also appreciated everything they do right. Why anyone would be marked as a troll for pointing out flaws in either game is beyond me.

Dev do you have FM3? I do so im pretty sure I have accepted the sorry physics in the game and the short comings.

I think we have all accepted some of the sorry physics in GT and Forza, and their shortcomings.

Videos uploading now you will see the difference between the games GT5P Mines GT-R rear can actually swing out when mashing the throttle around turns while FM Mines GT-R stick to the ground with just understeer no oversteer I saw a clip of the mines GT-R on Best Motoring video and the rear slides out with no problem.

Don't worry. That's how I found GT4, when cars simply refused to power-oversteer, including a more powerful variant of a car I've experienced power-oversteer in!

EDIT: The Mine's GT-R has just power-oversteered for me easily on Kaido, in second.

Yup, I am on the same page as GT5 Skeptic. I have numerous hours into FM3, and my back end kicks out on the Mines pushing out of corners without issue. In fact, maybe with the exception of the R32, all of my AWD will kickout when pushing the corners too hard.

We have already seen the ZR1 as Premium in GT5, the Veyron being a new car since GT4 days (where most standards come from) I imagine will also be premium but there is no proof of that yet.

There was? I played around with the Veyron a lot in GT PSP and taking note of the spoilers function and I never noticed any glitch. Unless you mean how it would go into the top speed mode at around 370km/h automatically rather than having to stop and pull over to set it like in a real Veyron? Which was intentionally done.

Not all car from GT4 are standard! We have a lot o GT4 car's that are premium... Skyline GT-R R34, R33, NSX, RX7, RX8, EVO 4 GSR, SL 55 AMG , M5, Z4, 147 GTA, Viper GTS...

I never said they were if you were referring to me.

From the GT PSP's 'Bugs and glitches' forum:

When driving the Veyron, as you surpass 230mph the spoiler retracts a bit. The spoiler comes down faster than the supports that hold it and they stick up through the spoiler for a sec.

I haven't noticed this either, I'll give the Veyron a run and see if it happens.
