JDM can because in that video the cars look equally bad, which to him is good news cause he wants standards and premiums to be comparable. Add the excitement of a GT5 video and you have this.
I'd rather have an open mind and be skeptical than base anything on less than stellar evidence.

This is GT5 some guys actually has it. Standards look pretty good IMO I will be very happy with GT5.

You forgot other to dave Im not the only one. Again all I was saying is that the cars on the track looked pretty similar. I don't expect the standard to look good as the premiums. All I said that they looked good IMO. Please show me where i want them to be comparable? At least I knew it was not from GT HD

That is funny, wait, no. I've said many times I've never played GTHD or had any interaction with it whatsoever. It's cool though. You can make your jokes that my 12 year old niece would snicker at.

C'mon man yea I agree the video quality is not the best but, you can clearly see some of those cars are standard they have completely blacked out windows. Also the cars look the same in that video even though its not the best quality video.

Um, right there. You said they look the same.

Oh and how about here

👍 Always going to have a hater man this is really good news. If you cant see that the standards look just like the premiums in that video your an idiot.

But I can see how someone like you can forget what he writes 5 minutes after writing it.

Damn dave I will say this again for the last time. In that video the standard and the premiums look the same that what made me happy. From the Info PD gave us I know the Premiums are going to look better. I was just happy that during the video even though its not the best quality the cars on the track look the same.

I can understand if you said I never played GT HD is this from GT HD? You did not say this you said
Anyone with GTHD who can confirm that's not GTHD?

How the hell am I supposed to know you never played GT HD? Lets just not quote on each other ok 👍 Its a good day for the community.

The fact that the video was such poor quality means you can make any conclusions about this topic from it. Of course they look the same, they all look terrible in that video, so it's not even worth talking about.

Only way to determine something like this is a large HD quality video with very little compression, or seeing it with your own eyes.

Backtracking looks good on you.
Consider this argument dropped, sir.

Well considering there is so little information on this topic, it's just one giant hypothesis after another.

Well.. some of the posts in here are giant anyways.:dunce:

How can you possibly tell anything from that video? The quality is awful.

Basically :)
If someone can confirm some of the cars are unexciting cars from 1999 to 2004, that would suggest they're standard, but I really can't tell from that video. Standard cars have always had dark windows but not completely blacked out, the track can be seen through them in some conditions.

Roll on the ultimate crying that Standard cars can race with premium cars. You can see in the latest news the Miata is racing amongst standard cars.

Too lazy to read 300+ pages but I have a question. Do standard cars have cockpit view? If so do they look anything like in GT5P or will it just be plain like in Forza 3?

Guys, wasnt the Miata a standard car?In the most recent video to be posted, the interior view was shown, albeit with not much detail, but its there =] i hope im not being stupid and the miata is premium, but bare with me, its my first post :P

You can really tell they're standard from the low quality textures used for details that are in 3D on Premium cars.
In all honesty from that video there isnt much difference between Premium and standard cars. Ive used an upscaler in Media Player Classic to watch the video (After downloading the 720P version). Those who complain about the Standard cars are being way too picky.

No cockpit view in standard cars and they arent much different to prologue cars.

Thats all I was saying 👍 Yes they wont look as good as the premiums but they still will look good.

I remember some 3 or 4 years ago a thread on taking pictures of the interiors in GT4. I remember also managing to make a few photos and saving them. Some were even trying to see if they could attempt to find a way of driving in the cockpit view.
Does anyone remember this topic and if so could they please direct me to the this archive thread. Thanks.

...as long as you prefer textured painted details instead of proper 3D modeled ones.

The new Tsukuba video does show Standards in a seemingly better light (though it's a very poor recording), but they still look very, very old, model-wise. The lighting masks certain things, but door handles and body vents are pretty easy to spot. Textures do seem to be cleaned up a bit too... but again, we'd need a direct feed, or a copy in our own homes, to say for sure.

So hurry up, Sony!

I have no problem with textured painted details. Im not picky like some of you people on here who arent ever happy.

I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed that they couldn't even include a generic in-car video for the standard cars. It's ridiculous that a view that so many people use would just be left out of the game for the majority of cars just because PD has poor time management.

WAT? Say it ain't so. :grumpy:
Too bad you haven't been around for the last 4 months or so. You would've known then.

Wow, imagine how many who haven't browsed these forums, how disappointed they'll be when they fire up the game and find out that the standards are less detailed and without an interior!

Excuse me? We'll be happy alright (at least I will), but it's bugging me how some are still denying the facts that standard cars are way less detailed than the premiums.

Ive watched the new Leaked videos and the Standard cars dont look way less detailed on my 1080P monitor. I downloaded the 720P video and upscaled it with Media Player Classic.

I don't mind driving without much detailed interior but not even given in-car view? bummer. yeah i'm a rookie, just joined today.

I just watched it as well, and I can see a clear difference.

Still looks to me as if the reflections is the only thing improved since GT4. They have low poly bodies and darkened out windows so that you can not see the non existent interior. Sure, it looks much better than GT4, but that's only thanks to high definition and as I said, better reflections.

You can wait for the point we get the game to be so definitive. Considering that 80% of the cars are Standards, I'm going to be taking many, many pics of them in Photo Mode. Watching the Standard car video yet again, I see nothing that would make me shy away from them. You guys can be analytical about them then. ;)

To each his own I suppose. I find nothing exciting about last gen cars I drove 6 years ago on the PS2 (because that's what they are in my honest opinion), but I'm glad you do. :)

I'm more than happy with 200+ premiums, so have no problem with the standard cars. I just simply won't use 'em.
