Cars easily accessible to PD might be changed, but I'd be surprised if some of the more mundane Euro stuff has been re-recorded, unless they dumbed down the samples taken for GT4 to a poor level in that game and the masters were recorded properly.

Maybe they just sythesized the sounds better. I think that's the most obvious thing to do. And, really, as long as they sound better, that's fine by me.

Most importantly, I think it'll mean that most of the new additions to the series will sound good.

Luminis, that door handle looks like a badge.
Bloody awful.
Are you talking about the Voltz' handle? Then yes, I wholeheartedly agree.

I would prefer more tracks instead of ridiculously detailed cars. I spend about 99% of my time racing and 1% looking at the cars.

To bad for you that car models in any Forza is better than the GT5 standard because standard cars comes from GT4 and they are inferior to Forza 1 in terms of detail, number of polys, texture size, etc.

Im one of those who can easily spot the standards even in those videos.

Too bad you lose the ability to observe that level of detail when it comes to your preferred brand of racing game.

You do realise those two images are from GT4? In the GT5 screenshot, the handle is three-dimensional. Dammit, why am I even saying this? Defending the Standard cars is a lost cause.

I still don't know how that shot was captured. Is it just as the camera is rotating at the start and switches between the high and mid-LOD?

He is such a Forza fan boy. Don't waste your time. In the end some people will get over the standard car situation some won't.

And you do realise that there's a picture of a red Voltz (standard) next to a silver Swift (premium) from GT5 on page 378 where you can see those very same, badge-like door handles?

Stand up and throw your hands in the air if you are happy to see this freaking thread again.
You know, you could just, like, not look at it?

Probably best to wait until there's footage of the game that wasn't recorded on a mobile phone. Just saying.

I can hear you on that, when I saw the Tsukuba video with the two types of cars I was pleased from what I saw I really could not tell the difference at 1st. What makes me happy though is the premiums obviously looks better than what that picture is showing. This can be the same case for the standard car, I did notice the doorhandles, but maybe with a better sharper image it will look better. The Shelby also looked good, and many people thought it was a premium car at 1st until someone pointed out the standard tag. While some folks automatically say when its on our HD TV the standards are going to look worse than what that picture shows confuses me. :odd: What also makes me laugh is people say the image is poor and bad when you say the cars look alike and the standards look good, but when one says they look horrible, terrible its I told you so

Personally I'll be too busy actually racing to notice these things, I appreciate they are in the game rather then being left out.

It looks like all the Standard cars have all been shoved into the used car dealership so at least people can easily avoid the Standards if they so wish, I wonder if completion is possible by using only Premium cars?

I think I won't like to drive the standars. I'm sorry to say this, but in the prologue I have never driven that Concept car of the GT-r. Of course also because there was a "premium" car of the GT-R. But I've also only twice driven the Citroën by GT, just because it's about impossible to drive the car with cockpit-view. I only like driving with cockpit view and I think I will only like premium models because of that..

Is there a default interior or cockpit view for standard cars, and if there isnt, then why not?

There is none. No cockpit view, no interior view, no dashboard view, no helmet view, nothing from inside the car. Probably due to time constraints. Which is why the standard cars are in GT5 in the first place, I guess.

I mean, why couldnt they at least add the view, even if all of the views for standard cars were the same?

If you're not going to do something right, why even bother? I'm sure they feel this way and that's why they didn't just tack on a standard cockpit view for all the standard cars.

But will the standard cars have interior views at all?
Officially not, but it's still not confirmed.
None of the lucky owners of the leaked GT5 copies cycled through all views in standard cars, so we still can't be 100% sure.
Since even outdated info such as the "20 tracks/70 variations" thing is officially confirmed (while we know by observation that there will be many more), I'd want to be sure by checking out and confirming personally.

"The differences between standards and premiums will be barely noticeble!" No, they are noticible, even in a low-res Youtube video.

You keep telling yourself that. Im wondering why so many people couldnt tell the difference then?

So yeah, up to this point, it does bear a certain 'Told ya!' feel to me. It totally does. And it was to be expected. For the simple reason that those few people just went with simple logic.

Nice attitude there:rolleyes:

And I'll just say this: They'll be quite limited in terms of body modification as well.

Not only graphics, gameplay stuff as well.

Can you prove this statement? I honsetly dont believe this. Until I see how much modding can done to standard cars I will believe the standards can get modified as much as the premiums.

Maybe because they're (intentionally) turning a blind eye?

Nice attitude there:rolleyes:
At times, yes.

No, I can't just like I couldn't prove any of the claims I made about the other points that came true. Oh, and that's basically the same people said about, say, cockpit view. You know, the 'as long as I haven't seen it, I believe it's in!' bit.

There's a pretty big clue, though. The models used in GT4 were a single piece. So removing and replacing panels on the body (like bumpers, hoods or skirts) will most likely not be possible. Adding stuff (like the rear wing in GT4) shouldn't be a problem, though.

This has been brought up quite a while back, so if you want to read up on it, just dig through this thread.

Because some people would like the cockpit/interior view anyway. Also, its better to have more options like this than to be without.

Aftermarket wheels cannot be fitted to "Standard Model cars". :grumpy:

EDIT: what does that mean for the wings that could be fitted before? Unless the wheel fitting has been expanded / enhanced and the standard cars haven't been updated to deal with this?

Aw, that's terrible. We were able to do it in GT2, why not here??

What happened to the entire selection of wheels in GT4? :(

No idea. Maybe the selection has some new entries, and some old ones omitted...

But the wheel mounting points haven't changed, so it must be to do with how the new wheels are attached? Maybe we can select different sizes now, with limits on width etc., which was perhaps too much work to retro-fit to the standards? Meh. Who knows.

Maybe the standard cars were added to the game long after most of the tuning section (and the wheels) were already done and, thus, ended up not being compatible with the new wheels...

Wow. Despite their shortcomings, i was looking forward to standards. But the wheels issue is a bit too much for me. Kaz needs to hire another 200 modellers and start modelling cars for GT 6.( I'm still hyped anyway)
