I love this thread, really gets the old blood circulating.
I'm just waiting for someone to post:
I glad we can't swap wheels I don't care about that option. I rather see the stitching in my samba bus thank you very much.
Sounds, check they are tony the tiger grrreat.
Physics system IS new im not disputing this, im questioning wether the same amount Parameters were inputted for Premiums and Standards.
Since Standards were modeled before the physics system renewal, do they use the same number of parameters as GT4, or do they have upgraded (higher number) parameters to match Premiums?
However this is not an easy question to answer.
I love the jaw dropping detail on the premium cars and I think 200+ is plenty, so I wouldn't like to have more average cars over fewer amazing cars.the more i saw the videos and the more i hate standard cars.. they're just crap and if i think about all the time wasted on the stiches of the backseat of a ****** Wwagen instead of working on an avarage level for all cars....
They already mentioned it that they have throw all the previous code.
They already mentioned it that they have throw all the previous code.
Unfortunately it seem as though it's a drop what were doing and start on the next big thing. This leads to unfinished and half added ideas. Trying to encompass all but at the detriment of the basics.
Should get the foundations done, then move on.
GT6 in 2012.......... Your having a laugh.
Jack of all trades, master of none...
Yeah, I don't buy GT6 coming out faster either. The argument is typically "they had to start fresh with GT5 to get the foundation right, GT6 will be a lot quicker to add more to!" or something roughly similar. The thing is, that argument definitely didn't pan out for GT4.
What gets me about this whole wheel debacle is, like Shirakawa suggested, maybe the new aftermarket rim shop is a lot more detailed than before. Maybe we can pick sizes, width, etc. So maybe they're just not compatible with the Standards (though I have no idea why, since the wheels have been separate entities from the bodies for a long time). But if that's the case... how hard would it have been to add a "Standard Model Wheel Shop" with our old GT4 options? Seriously? How are we getting a game six years after GT4 with less personalization options than that game?!
The screenshot above mentions that lightweight rims improve driving performance.
Could this be the reason why they can't be mounted on Standard cars? If yes, that's worrying. It might imply less detailed driving physics for them.
I wonder if that's even true, though.
Thats the SYSTEM im talking about the input DATA for each Standard or PRE-new system car...
Obviously the new system has much more parameters, but the parameters they sampled for the standards is what theyre going to be inputting in the new system, but still that can mean that standards have a less "complex" physical modeling despite using the same system.
Like i said its not easy to answer or figure out without help from big KY himself.
I'm trying my best to see how that makes any sense?
At least GT models are accurate.
I'm so glad I've never been fond of the standard cars right now.![]()
Jack of all trades, master of none...
Here's the reasoning:
-> Premium wheels might have physical parameters (weight, inertia, etc) or other technical details not supported by Standard cars
-> PD didn't think it would be a good idea (technically and by a User Interface standpoint) to mix together "legacy" and new, Premium wheels having different characteristics
-> GT4 "legacy" wheels and the option to change stock ones in Standard cars get ditched
You all need to relax. GT5 will still probably be the master of racing sims. Lets put aside the 800 cars. You still get 200 amazing cars that you can do anything you want with them. 200 cars that are more detailed than any competition (so whoever said forza 3 is more customizable than GT5 forget about the premiom cars), and 200 cars is still a huge number. And like it has been said before, I would hold off on saying that all of the standard cars wont have wheel customization.
You still get 200 amazing cars that you can do anything you want with them.
Now I know why we didn't get a livery option.
We would all make stickers for our back windows saying
" My other car's a premium "
Are you sure you can do more than your nearest competitor, options wise.
I can think of two things. Hmm.
Top priority of the game are premium cars.standards=just pleasant/unpleasant variety. It is like - you want 1000 cars?ok,here ya go.BUT gt5 is all about THOSE 200+ PREMIUMS,those cars represent the game.So in general they don't give a **** about the rest.
GT5...
20% a great game
80% pretty rubbish really...
I have pre-orderd a signature edition being a massive GT fan...
now after this news, that pre-order is getting stopped and im buying a bog standard copy..
there is no way im paying £150 for this...
