I am on the fence whether they should have left the standard cars out and just focused on 200+ premiums, GT3 A-Spec style. I think it would have caused less controversy to be honest, but I can see why some people want the rest.

so whoever said forza 3 is more customizable than GT5 forget about the premiom cars
We already know that the Premium cars will lack some customization options that Forza 3 already had, better looking cars or not. And if it rings true that the Standards won't have any visual customization whatsoever...

GT
Good for you, I will enjoy all that GT5 has to offer....pfff, isn't everybody tired after 6 years...I just want to enjoy the complete experience.

I've moved on to combat flight sims and play prologue when i want to go to sleep, i think i may have passed GT by and haven't really noticed. of course it's hard to miss what you haven't had for 6 years.

But they're now in a game six years later with less functionality. That just doesn't make any sense.

What next? We'll find out they can't be used in photomode?

At this point I've been wondering whether I would even bother with them in Photomode (which basically makes that part of the game useless to me), though it would be ridiculous if you couldn't even use them if you wanted to.

I'd say it would be, because everything was accomplished to the same level.

exactly..

HALF ARSED.... im very suprised at this news...

5 years in the making...and PD no less.. not some usual run of the mill developer... PD the so called kings..

imo they have let themselves down this time.. and i dont even have the game..im sure when i do have the game there will be other area's that have been overlooked...

I really feel like i have been decieved by PD and Sony on this game

all the secrets and cant say too much about the new stuff... thats coz its not as great as it sounds..

DYNAMIC WEATHER -- only in a few races, not for all tracks

CUSTOMISATION -- only to a select few cars

DAY TO NIGHT -- again only turns out its on a few tracks

I would love to kow where the last 5 years have gone.. coz it certainyl hasnt been on this game alone.

You all need to relax. GT5 will still probably be the master of racing sims.

Probably.

Lets put aside the 800 cars.

Now I'm supposed to put them aside? After months of people talking about how positive they are as an addition? Heh.

You still get 200 amazing cars that you can do anything you want with them.

Nope, not anything. I don't see a livery editor option (though we still don't know exactly how detailed Racing Mods are, I'll admit that).

200 cars that are more detailed than any competition (so whoever said forza 3 is more customizable than GT5 forget about the premiom cars),

Detailed =/= more customizable. They are more detailed, I'll agree. But they're behind the curve in terms of customization, still.

and 200 cars is still a huge number. And like it has been said before, I would hold off on saying that all of the standard cars wont have wheel customization.

Well, it's smaller than a certain main competitor. As in, half the amount. Also... why hold off on saying that? The tooltip says it, right there. No Standard cars will change their wheels.

Agreed. The premium cars will be the class of the console racing sim.

...which was my main reason behind arguing for the idea of GT5 sans Standards... it's standing would be unquestionable, I'll readily admit :)

I just hope there's a option somewhere to turn Standards off and experience those 200 amazing cars in the lush track environments without getting the perfect experience stained by low quality material.

If there isn't such an option, then I hope you can play all the way from start to finish just with Premiums, aswell as race only against Premiums like we saw on all demos so far.

There won't be that option W9E. There's license tests mixing both, and they require you to place first against a specific pack. That's scripted, those cars are staying there...

Are you sure you can do more than your nearest competitor, options wise.
I can think of two things. Hmm.

I said that they will be more detailed than other competitors. You took what I said out of context. Also, I would want to know the two things you are talking about (not saying that I disagree).

I understand that GT5 only with 200 cars [which would not be called premium] would be a complete game?

I think what he means is consistency in the game's features. If GT5 had only the 200 Premium models, then there would be no detail discrepancies and, overall, the game would be more uniform.

The problem with GT5 is it has many impressive features in it, but most of the time, there's a catch:

- We have 1000 cars, but there's a catch, only 200 have interiors, next-gen detail, full damage and full customization.
- We have dynamic day-night cycle, but there's a catch, only on certain tracks.
- We have weather effects, but there's a catch, only in some locations.

Uh gaming, I got it from this.

I am not even that huge of a GT fan, but some of you are being ridiculous. You are nitpicking at small things and are not appreciating the amount of content this game has. Go back to your Forza 3, where you wont even have half of these options.

I wonder if the events PD setup the "Sunday Cup", the "FF Challenge" etc. will only use premium cars.

Edit: Question already answered.

Indeed, I noticed that and I do find unlikely the presence of that option in the career. However it may be present in Arcade Mode races which will likely allow you to restrict which cars you wish to compete against. After all, in the intro movie we see all-Premium races the whole time, so they must be possible somewhere, somehow.

Most of the car list will have been locked down like a year ago, you can't keep thinking up new cars to add at the last minute. Work on GT6 cars should be well underway already unless it's all DLC.

If I was Sony boss I would have told them to release GT4 HD last year and it would have sold millions of copies. In fact they should have done this at launch of PS3 then 2 yrs later GT5P sells millions more and then GT5 with say 300+ premiums and all the features they can add. This way I think they would have made more money.

I honestly believe GT5 is best thing they wanted to do for GT fans. But it is impossible to make everyone happy

Except if you take Forza's misshapen S2000, E36 M3 and Golf R32 and put them up against GT4's (and GT5's possibly) misshapen Jaguar S-Type and PT Cruiser.

and go back to GT4 were we had all these options now take them away, thats the problem. i had no problem with standard cars until i saw that now infamous youtube clip that says you can't even change the wheels.

I guess things like this explain why Sony have been so eager to not show anything standard apart from one video.

EDIT: My apologies, I expected someone else to have posted in between me.

The options I am referring to is ALL of the options, not the standard cars.
