I'd be surprised if you have tripled my hours, because unlike yourself, I'm still playing it and over 500 hours clocked in the game.

I can assure you I have.

Im still playing and finished the time trials today (25th position). I also won the Stig code because I finished in the top 100 in a recent time trial competition. I also have over 270 top 50 laptimes.

You don't aqquire the above with little time or effort!

So, now we have confimation that the standards cars lack the visual customisation options that the premiums have? Funny, I think some of us expected this already months ago...
Expecting less visual customization options is different from expecting what looks to be a total lack of visual customization options.

Lets not forget PD developed GT5P & GT PSP within this time period.
That doesn't really make any difference. GT5P was a test bed for GT5. It can't be held as a "look at all the stuff that delayed GT5" when GT5P was actually part of the GT5 development process.

So essentially you like to moan about it, but you're still putting all that effort into it? Glutton for punishment, much?

I wanna make sure, where are talking about the wheel specs not being changeble (that deals with performance) and not just about the visuals (paint, etc).

Fair point about GT5P. However I personally think the biggest mistake PD or Sony made was GT PSP because this definitively put GT5 on hold.

The problem with all this, is that people had so much hope for gt5, personly i became very disapointed since 98% of the cars i perfer in game are standard one = no cockpit, limited customization etc. Im the one that likes regular and semi sport cars and then tune and mod em in a inpressing way for online cruise/race. That isnt posible in gt5. Why didnt PD made toyota supra mkiv as a premium for example? its a very epic streetcar in real life to.

I'm the same, i always had two memory cards one with my regular garage then another with every NA snail i could buy each modified and setup different. so now most those cars have modification limitations, thanks.

See now you are just being silly.

What did I just say in a previous post? I said im a fan of racing games. I have been playing FM2/3 because apart from GT5P there has been very few decent racing games. However make no mistake once GT5 is released im trading my 360 in and cancelling my live subscription. I probably would of looked at FM4 if Turn 10 hadn't made a right cock up with FM3. Shame because FM2 was a stunning game and actually took the crown from PD. However Turn 10 have given this crown back to PD without them having to even release the game.

But GT5 is a whole other game, it uses a different physics engine, and all other sorts of features.

you guys realize that they have teams working on each aspect of the game right? Its not like the whole company works on the physics then moves on to modeling cars. With that said they had 5 years to make a physics engine, 5 years to model tracks, 5 years to develop the graphical engine...

Oh and 5 years to make a decent intro movie

haha... good point... that does suck too

But the cock-ups aren't wholly T10's fault, when they have MS forcing them to get products out the door. Surely you've had fun and your money's worth from FM3, so why let the actions of the publisher put you off potential fun in FM4? I'm a fan of racing games, too and there's very few I flat-out dislike, but even having hated GT4, I still know I need to buy a PS3 to experience GT5 because I like to go where the cars are too. Regardless though, I'll still be getting FM4, because if you buy the majority of racing games, you don't miss out on anything.

Yes, I am fully aware of that. But saying "8 out of 10" or "80%" doesnt tell the whole story.
IT DOES!!!!
8 out of 10,
16 out of 20,
24 out of 30,
32 out of 40,
40 out of 50,
.......
......
800 out of 1000

Pick which one looks best cause they all tell the same story:rolleyes:

I guess i need it spelled out to me, as i see it now 800, 80% or 8 out of 10 cars can not have the wheels changed. So am i supposed to just ignore those 800 cars?

edit: math teacher would kill me for the 8 out of 10, should be 4 out of 5.

The wheel thing has really put a dampener on my excitement for the game. Of course I will be getting it since I bought a PS3 for it, but I'm disappointed to have lost a feature we had in GT4.

I was happy to deal with the standards being upscaled GT4 cars with all the Gt4 features, the 2D wheels included. It's quite awful that they've removed what little customisation was available with these cars, especially considering they make up 80% of the total car count.

I would trade visual damage for customisation if I could.

Forza 3 may look worse, have inferior handling, less cars, less tracks, a dead online community and rip off DLC. But it does have some really nice features which are long overdue in GT5, as well as quite a few cars that shockingly still don't make an appearance in the GT series.

GT5 is going to be epic, but it is not the 10/10 flawless game that so many expected after such a long development cycle.

GT5 is GT5P with 3 more years of development work put into it. That GT5 is shaping up to be quite different from GT5P does not make GT5P a completely different game, particularly when the main reason it was probably released in the first place (aside from the piles of money it made) was so PD would have a good long time to work on some of the more finicky aspects ahead of time (like the online mode) so they wouldn't be a problem for GT5 proper.

Oh, that was a foolish thing to write; it makes you look the moron!

Tell me the exact thing I said that makes me look like a moron or foolish. I said we're not nitpicking about the fact that 80% of the cars do not have interiors (80%, eighty) when we were lead to believe otherwise. Then I complained about the fact that when somebody has something negative to say, you (you being a general forum user at GTP) call them Forza players. Then I said it was sad that you guys arent holding PD more accountable, or were expecting better after 5 years.

Is it possible you just disagree with me? Because that's allowed. Getting angry at me and calling me names because you disagree with me... well I guess that's par for the course as far as internet etiquette is concerned, so actually I have no problem.

its old but its been taken down by the original uploader i believe. so thanks jdmking :sly:

true.. but GTP are asking for post screening.. to save the bandwidth and servers from crashing...

that was my reason ... not being mean to JDMKING at all... :dopey:

Do we know how much customization standard models will have?

Last I heard we won't be able to switch out wheels--seems like a silly thing not to have.
Will I be able to upgrade any parts?
How about the GTPSP tuning menu items? How about gearing?

It'd be a shame if I could do *nothing* to tune the MR-S touring car I've been growing attached to for the last half decade...

Development cycles are getting bigger and bigger. Yet, if games are getting better and better, it's due to the advances in technology, not bigger development cycles. A prettier game might be seen as better, but there are some freaks by the shelves, still.

i would say performance mods would be available but the little visual customization we had seems to be out.
