Some encyclopaedia of cars this is turning out to be. It seems as if it was one compiled in 2005 with a 2010 addendum.

I want to love GT again, but this last five years has been pure schadenfreude.

I wan't to ask Kaz personally what he was on when he decided we needed a premium suzuki swift and ferrari SP (****d up f430) and not the MK4 supra and AE86. He killed all my takumi dreams in one hit!
You and me both my friend. I was hoping and praying to see that Smiths Tachometer in the interior view of the Shigeno 86.

So much for that :(

The lack of the two greatest Toyotas ever (imho) really sucks. I LOVE the AE86. But, well, I really don't expect to be able to do anything to the standard cars in terms of body modifications. Might as well ignore one of my favourite tuner cars ever, then... A stock looking Hachiroku really isn't what I was hoping for. Oh well...
Really, the more I talk about this, the sadder I get :(

Simple solution? to all this, Just buy Premium cars if your not satisfied with the standards!
Sure I'll buy a Premium JZA80 Supra...oh wait I can't.

No worries, I'll just buy a Premium Subaru 22B...oh wait I can't do that either.

Not a problem, my old faithful, the Tommy Kaira ZZII...wait a minute...

I was hoping for some trackbeasts: Ascari, Noble M12, Lotus Exige-211, Ariel Atom, Ginetta G50 and KTM X-bow.

Wel lets hope they get added with DLC or GT6

But tbh for now i'm happy with the list. We finally got Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren.

Clearly the "Standard" list isn't right, the F40 had a cockpit in prologue. There is no way they would take that OUT. Just my opinion, but I guess we will find out in 12 days.

Delighted with the car list and my 3 favourite cars are all premium.

Only disappointment is I would love to see a premium Ford Capri & RS Cosworth.

P.S Apologies for my harsh remarks on this thread a few days ago, especially towards GT5 Sceptic. I had a very bad day.:)

One thing I admire about Turn10 is that they are on top of the car culture. They have all the current and past tuner cars that everybody wants to drive in real life (M3, S4, etc..)

This is one disappointing car list. Where is the Audi S5? RS4? BMW 335? Why is the e46 m3 or the supra standard when we have all these premium slow ass cars that we will only drive a few times for a license test.

I wanna look at Kaz in the face and ask which one of these cars he would take to the ring

Calling it right now; PD will not ship out review copies to gaming sites/publications before the game is released.

If they read this site, they HAVE to know that people are not happy with this Standard/Premium car debacle.

I gave up on seeing my car in the game a long time ago. Never did I ever think the Veyron would be standard! Im so angry, sad, and dissapointed right now. Screw Nascar! It helped ruin our game!

Well, I wouldn't say NASCAR ruined the game. But seeing that many premium NASCARs while there are so many awesome cars that are just standard garbage, is a shame.
(And yeah, I said it. That's what I think of cars that lack some of the features I was looking forward to the most and even look worse than the other cars in the game, as well.)

👍

I can understand porting older assets, but to then add new cars in the same style as those old assets is baffling.

The XF-R as standard for example? Why! If they wanted to add new cars within GT4's limitations, it should have simply been released as GT4 HD.

Ratio of premium vs standard looks poor. Also nearly every premium car is featured in prologue.(new premiums are rare? )
Also i can not understand why a car like e-type jag is standard yet the interior is modelled as you can see wheel and windows are not tinted.

F40 is a big mystery to me also.

Also i hate why some the most interesting JDM classics are missing from premium(ae86, mr2(3gen) and supra like someone said)

This is my first reaction. When i get the game i will be all smile as no other game still comes close even as most of them are standards. Also poor hand animation(900 animation please) might push me to use hood can also with premiums and then i of course won't care about interior.

European classics premium DLC would spice up the list a lot for me :)

I just SAW THE CAR LIST. I THINK IT"S DUMB AND STUPID that they put in repeats of so many nissans hondas toyotas. Like 500 Cars are the same crap but just different tuning. Way to go damnit.

Lol

There is an Evo IX GSR '05' and an Evo IX MR '05.

It's the same freaking car! No wonder there are a thousand cars

And the nuances between those two Evos are probably not readily noticeable in a game, so the GSR needn't have been added. If the GSR was as good as the IX could have got, Mitsubishi wouldn't have introduced an MR version.

I know some people here just don't like Forza, but when faced with line-up padding like this, you can see why FM3 tends to feature one or two top variants of an individual car.

Yeah, Gran Turismo has always been like that. And I never really minded it. I wouldn't mind it now if it were just the standard cars that were that way.

But premiums too, for chrissake! Suzuki Swift '05 AND '07! Adding a Swift as a oremium is borderline moronic as is, really. Stuff like the Miata, that's a good, low powered, cheap premium car. It's a legend in its own right. But the Swift seems so... Dunno, out of place as a premium. And while I personally would be okay with it being premium, having TWO of them really made me go 'WTF?!'

In all fairness to the last bastian of 'Good' Evo, those two models are different in more than a few ways ;)

In all honesty, the 18 [Standard] S2000s chafed my ass more than anything else.

I would like to see someone distill the list down to truly different cars of each type... the line as to what's "truly different" might get a bit blurry but it would be interesting to see...
