I wish I could start a thread hating on 2 premium Suzuki freakin swifts !! Im looking at that list and its like PD sold us out for cash from there manufacturers. For the record, the Swift sucks !

Well, I wouldn't say NASCAR ruined the game. But seeing that many premium NASCARs while there are so many awesome cars that are just standard garbage, is a shame.
(And yeah, I said it. That's what I think of cars that lack some of the features I was looking forward to the most and even look worse than the other cars in the game, as well.)

I'm not a NASCAR fan at all, but I'm not too phased having NASCARs as premium. My bigger problem is there are actually only 2 cars but they fill 9 spots on the premium car list. Once you take out all the duplicate NASCAR and WRC cars, then if you so desire take out all the "RM" cars as they are just modified versions of cars you'll modify yourself anyway, then trim the cars like the Swift and duplicate models of the same car... you're really cutting the "premium" list down.

This is not correct.
GT is a game that gives a lot of importance to ALL cars, not just the exotic ones. If you believe that the Prius is an ugly car, that's a different matter.

I know it's not all about exotics but are you telling me that you want to drive a prius around an amazing race track instead of a pemium decent car? Anyway I've realised like an idiot my mom has it pre-ordered for me so i'll have it...just disappointed at the moment.

If I had any confidence that it wouldn't be 6 years until GT6, I'd think about skipping GT5 all together.

Over-reaction? - maybe lol. But I've got Prologue, and a lot of other great PS3 games. And with new releases like COD, who needs a crappy version of what this game should have been since we are approaching the 2011 calendar year. But I'm still glad I canceled my pre-order, and am going to wait a couple months to see how things shape up - DLC, online racing, etc.

^ Oh and GT is a game that gives OVER IMPORTANCE to Skylines and all those other Japanese cars that get 20+ variants.

Yup, you're right. This is just a wild guess, but I do think we would be looking at 125 - 150 premium cars, if we did that.

Pretty strange, I'll jump around screaming like a 13 years old girl if my mother did something like this. Different emotions, lol.
Anyway, yes, driving an exotic car is more rewarding. But that's no the only point of GT, as i already stated.

Get a grip people. You make it sound like PD are asking for £40 and your left nut for this game. If you can't see the value then don't buy it, it really is that simple. I see people saying they have waited 5 years blah blah. If anyone has truly wasted 5 years waiting for a video game then it is nobodies fault but your own and I suggest you re-evaluate your lives before you waste any more time waiting for video games.

Everyone is whining at repeat cars and no updates of concepts that have been released. People are forgetting that practically the GT4 car list as it was, is in GT5, with visual improvements.

My question is why are there standard and premium versions of the same car in some cases? Is this a hint that we can't mix the two in races? I'd say that is unfortunate, and I wasn't expecting that to actually happen if that is the case.

Pretty sure we can, as the Tsukuba video shows.

Its not waiting for a game its looking forward to it, big difference.

Imagine you were looking forward to this amazing 3D film that was gonna come out and after 5 years of production, only about 20 percent of the film was 3D and the rest was 'standard.' Wouldn't you feel a tad bit dissapointed?

Damn that was a good comparison, proud of myself for that :D

I would like to see someone distill the list down to truly different cars of each type... the line as to what's "truly different" might get a bit blurry but it would be interesting to see...

I actually might do this; I've been meaning to for a long while, especially given the hilarious MX-5 listings, or the R32-R34 GT-R's, or the Z's, or the Clio/Lutecia, or the Opel/Vauxhalls. Engine changes are one thing; very very slight suspension tunings are another. I'd skip over the N1 Skylines because in-game, they are so very similar stock to the normal GT-R's that I would imagine most gamers wouldn't care (and would probably prefer the colour options available on the "normals").

Will report back with findings.

"The return of Racing Modifications" leaves us with a whopping 18. Wow.

Oh, but there are different colour options on the Vauxhalls and Opels, so no wonder Kaz enjoys adding both to his games. Even if it means UK players can get a higher percentage completion...

Slip they said that that RM was cars from like GT5P build from PD not Race mod

Because double cars = higher car count.

Who said so? Some guys on this forum did, and that's it. That doesn't mean squat.

So who's fault is it again?

And your statement does  He's argument makes more sense than yours.

What argument?

If they were the tuned by PD cars from Prologue, they'd probably have that in their name. Here's an interesting bit of info too: the cars that had some noticeable body mods, like the Evo IX or Cappucino, with their widebody kits, are both labeled as RM. Cars in Prologue that were simply Tuned, like the Viper, don't have an RM.

We'll be getting some sort of visual tuning (of course, who knows how limited that will be too), but I will bet you money that RM stands for race modified.

JDM, I do wish I had your optimism, because I admire it. I wouldn't let it get in the way of logic, though. What else would "RM" stand for?

I envy your low expectations.

My expectations are not low, I just don't get them mixed up with my hopes. Besides that I can see the value of the product. There are so many things I can do in this game that I cannot do on other games on my console. I have paid for a lot less in a car game and been thoroughly grateful.

Polyphony's for not clearing up the differences when they first said they had 1000 cars.

The first official said something like. "180 premium, new cars to the series 750 standard, carried over from GT4" now ask yourself why would PD seperate these cars if there was not going to be a significant difference? Now go back to my original question...

I'm sure someone might have already mentioned this but I really don't mind having premiums and standards. With all the effort that PD has put into GT5, I think we can give them a break. GT6 is already in development and with a nice foundation that they created in GT5, I think they'll manage to put more premium cars in GT6. Looking down the road, I wouldn't be surprised if all the cars will eventually have full cockpits, damage modeling, etc.

No problem, but the cars that have RM next to them might already have the Race Mod lile they did in GT5P, how do you guys automatically say these are the ONLY cars than can only get race mod?
