No they have not, they have given the game tons more variety. I'm sorry but 20 or 30 more premium cars is not better than having over 800 standard cars that have great physics and graphics.

I would go even further and say that even 8 more Premium cars would be better than 800 Standard ones, heck I'll even rather have 2 or 3 killer Premium cars instead of 800 Standard ones.
I'm all for more variety but only if the quality is consistent overall, not a compromise.
Does that mean that if I were in charge you would have 800 cars less to play with?
You betcha it would, thankfully for you I'm not in charge.

No but I would take 300 premiums over 200 premiums + 800 standards. Especially considering the fact 30% of the standard cars are repeats. And most of them I would not drive. Who wants to drive a freakin suzuki capuchino in a video game?

But it's not even as if by leaving them out you'd never be able to play them again, thanks to them having been available since late 2004/2005.

Fifty-one Skylines.

Fifty-one.

A new record. Not surprising at all. And mind you the padding is even worse this time around because some Skylines are exactly the same but one's Premium and the other Standard. This number of Skylines should have a tendency to keep growing as more and more generations of the car keep coming.

If 800 standards weren't in the game, im sure PD would have included a premium Supra. So all the standards have done is hurt the game.
Prove it.

Some people are just born to be not happy with anything. Personally, I'm happy with everything shown so far.

👍👍

As for the two Swifts, that's just pure trolling. It's like Kaz is taking the michael as I'd be amazed if there were any changes in the 05 and 07 that you'd notice or feel in a game.
That cracked me up. I fully expect getting rickroll'd now, by the GT5 intro, as it turns into the music video for 'Never Gonna Give You Up'.

I do want to drive a Cappuccino. But I think I'll start the career mode with a Wagon R, regardless if it's not a Premium car.

I could even understand adding Standard cars as a sort of GT4 HD running on GT5's game structure when it came on a separate disc.
Only then could I regard them perhaps as an added bonus ( which I still wouldn't use much ) which wouldn't interfere with the current gen content.

Its funny, because deep down, even I thought that when I said GT5 will have 50 skylines, I was exegerrating.

Prove that they have ruined the game?

How about this as your proof. PD did not remodel the E46 M3, the MKIV supra, the Audi S4, etc... You know why? because all those cars were in GT4 and it is a lot easier to copy and paste than to make something from scratch. They have ruined the game because the one thing I was looking forward to the most was to sit behind the interior view of an E46 M3 and race it against a Supra.

If you would rather have half assed damage, or a suzukui capuchino, or a freaking VW bus over these legends, then GT5 is the game for you.

This game is incomplete!. The cars aren't finished, The damage isn't finished, the tracks aren't finished. The only thing that looks finished is the physics engine and I know now that will be the only thing that brings me back to play some more.

Lets not be fanboys and think of the competition. If Forza released something like this we would be dying of laughter. We were making fun of their damage system but it looks like GT5's is worse.

And to not make BMW's finest hour and almost swansong - the E46 CSL - a premium is just baffling. Don't worry about that, just have a premium 1-series concept car that nobody knew what was under the hood when it was displayed, be it a turbo four or turbo six.

If you would rather have half assed damage than beautiful cars then I don't know what to tell you.

uhhh Forza has used the same tracks and car models from FM1 all the way to FM3. The same glitches show up in all 3 games.:dunce:

The more I think about this issue the more I think that Turn 10 got it right.

500 good looking cars that sit firmly between the GT5 standards and the GT5 premiums.

Whichever way you look at it, that's the best of both worlds.

Yeah, and people around here were making fun of it. GT5 does the same now. It' s starting to reuse old assets, but it seems way more glaring than it did in Forza.
So yeah, if this was happening to Forza 4, we would be rolling on the floor laughing (well, I would probably be annoyed either way, but whatever).

And it's happening to GT now.

Regardless if they use the same models in-game as the last console, T10 have already made their own 'premiums' in the menus, so I imagine they'll be the in-game car with FM4. And it's a bit rich to highlight FM3 uses some cars that were in FM1, when GT5 will include more carry-over cars from the last gen than FM3's entire line-up, with the plentiful DLC on top.

There are not a waste of time. Just because YOU dont like the standards, doesnt mean that everyone will have to suffer because of it. Many people are going to love those 1000 cars.

And you say that they dont stand up to the standards "GT5 premiums". OF COURSE THEY DONT, that is why they are called "standard" cars. They have current gen physics, and current gen graphics, that is all that we shouldve expected from standard cars, and that is fine enough.

I agree. Although 1000 is too much lol. My only problem is cockpit view. The gfx are going to great. We alread knew this months ago there will be some 200 odd premium so it is not news anyways.

People have choice to buy the game or not but crying out loud make sense whatsoever. I am just happy they are releasing the game

The thing that strikes me about all this discussion, is that it's all made on the basis of a list on a website and information from press releases. i.e. None of you have played the game yet!

Wait til you actually play the game, then judge it so harshly.

The car list is awesome in my opinion, its exactly what I expected from Gran Turismo - its always been biased more towards Japanese cars.

All I have to say on the matter is having standard and premium cars is like having a world superpower and a third world country, I cannot understand how some cars deserve more precedence than others, Lets be honest if any one of us was the C.E.O of Ferrari and we got told our cars would be in the game but only standard not premium quality we would walk away

How is information given out directly by PD not a sufficient basis? And so far, it has only gotten worse, not better than what they told us. We're probably basing this whole discussion on the best case scenario.

^^ Too many assumptions.

Have you seen the new "standard" cars? I havent. But I would expect that they would be of a high quality anyway, and that "premium" cars would just build on that...
