Do you even own a car?!? Wheels affect performance! Especially if you can change the diameter and width. Everyone except you knows that.

GT doesn't even support changing wheel width, and if it did, I doubt they would change the performance of the cars in game. They were completely for looks ,and only for looks for the last GT games they were in.

Thanks Peter. That should end this wheel/rim debate, but it probably wont

That's terrible news.

Funny thing about this thread is that so many people argue about how standard cars are "dog poo" or a "waste of time" or "worthless", when:
-You're not being forced to drive the cars. You can avoid them if you please
-They may not even drive ore than 100 cars in GT5. I think I only drive around 50 unique cars in GT4 at least, and maybe up to 60. In GT5:P, I don't think I drive more than 30 different cars. I think in GT5, I mat go over 100, but not much more.
-No cockpit views, or no wheel customization doesn't make it worthless. it's still a car.
-They actually look very good, at least better than Forza 3. People call them crappy in graphics, because the astronomical beauty of the premiums skyrocketed everyone's expectations.

You have GT5?

And most of them are duplicates, one half labeld as efine and the other as mazda.
Oh my god. Are you serious? They actually did do that? They truly, honest to god, pulled the exact same pile of fail that they did in GTPSP?

Oh lord, this is EPIC.

No, they don't.

People call them crappy in graphics, because the astronomical beauty of the premiums skyrocketed everyone's expectations.
No, they call them crappy because some of them date back to when I was still in elementary school. I'm currently in my third year of college.

As long as PD fixes the E46 M3 model. After seeing that comparison, the PD one is inaccurate. The headlights and gas cap location are wrong. Have to admit Forza did it better there.

In the picture both cars have the gas tank on the same side.

Look closer at it's position. In the GT4 model, the corner doesn't overlap onto the wheel arch, where it does in the Forza model. Forza is correct. Yes I'm crazy for spottings things like that. It's my artistic eye :P

I completely agree with this. PD has been too kind to us and raised the bar too far even for themselves.

And I too will probably only have a collection of about 100 cars that I'll drive in GT mode.
In GTPSP I have 216 cars and thats only because of the urgency to buy them (car yards change every second day) and because I want to give my friends the option to play with them in arcade mode.

Who out here is actually going to get each of the 1031 cars and learn how to drive them. I've spent many hours trying to learn the characteristics of one car let alone 1031.
I'm currently going from car to car in GTPSP doing 2-3 laps of Fuji then going to the next car, there's simply too many, but the choice is good.
My point is don't complain about only having 200 odd Premium cars and 800 standard, as long as they race the same I won't care.

they wasted there time and resources making this crappy kubalwagen as premium while leaving behind the Bugatti Veyron.
Why does the Veyron have to be premium? It may be quick but it doesn't have the charm of an older car. The X1's there to be quick and pretty.

And you're the one who seems to be defending a video game.

I never said I was defending it.

And your complaining about somebody complaining about a videogame.

Where was I complaining?

I love it when people come to a video game forum and then try to smack talk caring about video games...

But it's the point of where everyone knew that standard's were in the game and everyone keeps talking about it or how their favorite car isn't in the game or isn't premium. I wanted several cars in the game that were in the older GT games. But I've haven't said anything because discussing it really doesn't matter.

They also made a gps system to make a real life data logger with toyota..and were happy leaving the Veyron standard. I mean, they let you do a lap time around the Top Gear Test Track in a standard bugattgi veyron. WTF?

my thoughts about "standard" and "premium" are I just hope that standard cars have cockpit view so i just searched it and i do believe i will be able to look through the windshield in a standard car. thats all i care about, being able to look through the windshield in each and every car wether it is a pagani or a mitsubishi

Is this really what this thread has degraded into? I must admit, after learning that you can't change the wheels on standard cars, I was sorely disappointed. Especially since my favorite car is a standard model (Toyota MR2 Turbo). I am still really looking forward to the game, and will definitely play the crap out of it, but it is still sad to think about. If it wasn't fer the fact that we can't buy new rims for standard model cars, I would be 100% satisfied.

Says the member of a video game forum.

I'm here to appreciate PolyPhony Digital's hard work. Not complain how my favorite car isn't detailed enough.

This man speaks the truth. I was disappointed with the rim option. But oh well, it's still going to be an amazing game.

I cant wait to get the game into my PS3 thats the 1st thing im going to try out, just seems so fishy you can switch wheels for standards.

Then you should probably go to some kind of fanboys only exclusive forum...

I wonder how many dissapointing things we could chip away from the game before it would cease being a certainty that it would be an amazing game...
