All cars in the intro movie are Premium. Check the car list again, scroll a bit more down, and you will find a Skyline R32 and a Skyline R33 which have both a Standard and a Premium version in-game. The Premium ones can be modified as you see in the video. The Standard ones can't.

EDIT: On a side note, the car in the middle picture is a R34, which is a known Premium as it was present in GT5P.

Uh, when did you hear that standard cars can't be modified? Yes they can. you can't however change their wheels.

I think about 94% of you guys are stupid as ****. WHY?? You may ask. We get so much now this game that no other game has. Remember in the past GTs you only had the colors from the dealer(or whatever color it was used) when buying a car. Arnt you guys at least happy about to be able to change the color. I hated just having two colors for the eclipse gt, now i can duplicate mine with silver, Or what about the rims have you ever wanted a certain rim black gold bronze, HEEYY guess what you can do it now. Engine overhauls, wow!!! Now we get dynamic weather and the opportunity to race while its raining. And did you see how real it looks for both standard and premium cars. Theres now 12-16 cars racing at one time now no more 6 cars...Theres better tracks now and everything. DLC will come that is the option, if you want a game with 1031 premium cars...Go to college get a degree in gaming design and go for it and stop complaining. They give you 1, you want 2 they give you 2 now you want 3..wtf Be happy

Please help me with a list of what's in GT5 that's not been in any other game... or did you mean not in any other GT?

BTW what about a list of things in other games that aren't in GT? And what about games that didn't take 6 years to come out... oh wait, that's all of them :)

I think most people were looking for something vastly better than other racing games currently available. The sheer amount of time its taken them to make this, looking at the car and track list is a very "meh" experience.

A month ago this was going to be a day 1 buy for me, I was gonna go out and buy a PS3 for the sole purpose of this game (really couldn't give a damn about other PS3 exclusives, already have a PC). Now its a "Meh, I'll play it at a friends house before I risk wasting the money". I'm sure its going to be a good game, but in my eyes its gone from worthy of buying a PS3 to maybe not. I dont really care how it compares to past GT games, I care about how it compares to current gen games.

You can change colors? What, like basically every racing game known to man? You can change rims? Like all those NFS games, like Forza (
and prolly others, I dunno, never cared about changing rims anyway)? Better tracks? There's hardly any real life tracks on there. Engine overhauls, like Forza 1?

Not that its not gonna be a great game, sure it is, this is just a bring back to reality, Kaz is not a god, PD is not located on Mt Olympus. Its just a game, a good game that brings together many features from other already existing games, has a copy/paste car list from older games and a handful of new ones. The weather does look pretty cool though ;)

How did you know that they are not upscaled/fixed?
Because we've spent about 10 million posts in this thread discussing how little was going to be changed based on what PD has shown us, and we've seen gameplay videos shown to us by people who got the game early telling us that very little actually was done?

Give me those videos!

5th grade. That was the year of school I was in when the Corvette C5R in GT5 as a Standard Car was modeled.

We saw that car one bloody time, while it was speeding by at the Nurburgring. Not enough.

Then you should probably go to some kind of fanboys only exclusive forum...

I wonder how many dissapointing things we could chip away from the game before it would cease being a certainty that it would be an amazing game...

We got a troll in the house everybody:indiff:

I do not think that means what you think it means.

What part of the the picture was not good enough? If anything the speeding and fact it was grabbed from a video covered up some of the flaws... yet you were still able to pick out plenty of detail necessary to make the call.

Why do people constantly try to discount the CR5 shot becuase it's from a video when in reality it's WORSE because you can still make out the daming evidence even THOUGH it's from a video.

-They may not even drive ore than 100 cars in GT5. I think I only drive around 50 unique cars in GT4 at least, and maybe up to 60. In GT5:P, I don't think I drive more than 30 different cars. I think in GT5, I mat go over 100, but not much more.

Don't assume people play the game the same way as you. There are only a handful of cars I got into and didn't drive in my GT Mode portion of GT4. Guess how many I have gotten into and driven, both stock and tuned? Current count is at 534 (out of 876 owned). I drove plenty in GT4. That's not even counting what other ones I may have touched in Arcade Mode. In Prologue? I've driven every car bar the F1 car, simply because I don't yet own it (but I've driven it in PSP).

-No cockpit views, or no wheel customization doesn't make it worthless. it's still a car.

It makes it seriously behind the curve of a certain competitor people like to talk about...

-They actually look very good, at least better than Forza 3. People call them crappy in graphics, because the astronomical beauty of the premiums skyrocketed everyone's expectations.

Admittedly, the Premiums are the pinnacle on consoles. I don't think you'll see a single person argue that. Better than FM3's? In what sense? Other than FM3's atrocious lighting, and a few modeling errors (which I will admit need to be fixed, like the S2000 and the R32 - though, GT also has modeling errors, and flat out fake cars)... I fail to see how someone can say this other than bias. I prefer GT but even I can't say Standards look better than most of the other current-gen racers.

Oh my god. Are you serious? They actually did do that? They truly, honest to god, pulled the exact same pile of fail that they did in GTPSP?

Oh lord, this is EPIC.

You should see my "Cut Down Car List" Word Document. It's interesting to see how the count could be down to 740 and be essentially the same game.

Now we get dynamic weather and the opportunity to race while its raining.

Y'know, I really want to see an example of actual dynamic weather in the game. So far I've seen it be either off or on for the whole race. The "weather forecast might be inaccurate" thing means there's a random element in some parts of the game, but I want to see it go from sunny to rainy. So far all signs point to a on/off system, and though it looks hugely impressive visually with the rain and the wipers and the spray... if it's all visual, it's not very different from Tsukuba Wet or SSR5 Wet. Where are these dynamic puddle or snow-mound buildups we heard about?

Correct, then wrong.

Maybe wrong.

A video that we don't how old it is. Could've been made in 2007 for all we know.

For 1 the ps2 graphics card is different from the ps3..
Completely meaningless. The "graphics card" of the Sega Saturn was completely different from the "graphics card" on the PSX (and I mean completely different, because the Saturn didn't even do polygonal rendering with triangles like every other console ever made), and there were dozens and dozens and dozens of games that shared graphical assets for ports between the two systems.

And its GT were talking here not forza the graphics always top the previous
Like they did with GT2, eh?

Anything was hardly shown!
I must be imagining the video that showed us that we can't change the Standard rims, then, with the Jaguar E-Type that looks near-as-no-difference identical to how it appeared in GT4.

We saw that car one bloody time, while it was speeding by at the Nurburgring. Not enough.
You were wrong when you first tried to argue this point. You are still wrong about it, and not only for the reasons Devedander helpfully pointed out. Feel free to go back a hundred or whatever pages and look at the discussion that happened the last time you tried to say this.

A video that we don't how old it is. Could've been made in 2007.
This argument is also ridiculous, because it operates on the premise that PD would intentionally make the most divisive thing about GT5 look worse than it actually would in the final game. It also isn't even consistent with what we always knew to be true about the Standard cars.

Standard cars video doesn't sounds like a full GT5.So it really can be old build.
In my opinion standards is a still good choice as far as new physics engine is applied to them. Also from leaked videos we hear that they sounds awesome!Hoping for best.

Implying your arguments aren't ridiculous in the first place.

Could have been made the day it went on the website. Do you have any info on that? If not the most reasonable (ocams razor) date is near the time it was released.

Then on top of that we have KY saying that standards are just GT4 or GTPSP models brought into GT5.

Then we have the live game footage from one of the early access copies that clearly shows a standard car with drawn on door handles, drawn on panel gaps, ugly wheel well textures and all kinds of chunkiness.

Should I continue to do your homework for you or would you like to stop making assumptions that invovle not knowing the whole story well at all?

Really? drawn on door handles and gaps? My god, it was a video from a cheap hand held camera. What the 🤬 are you talking about?

And here we are again, main reason of why all this whining is expectations of an impossible game with 1000 cars and 100 tracks all in HD with weather,Day/night,damage,track creator.

Which turns out to be 220 cars with damage in 30 tracks with some of them with weather and Day/night,I was expecting from PD something really huge but in fact is just a junction of old assets to create a huge thing, even so they don't even bother in upgrading the classic courses and classic assets and still manage to get some lack of content due unknown reasons.

Some people where I study/work told me that Hong Kong track only needed remapping and could easily get an acceptable quality for current gen consoles, and then they don't include it which is a huge let down and a huge mistake.

It seems that the game they advertised is call GT6 and is still halfway there,so far GT5 will be the best racing game to the date but it wont be at its best, which is a shame because developers could give more in the time they took to get here.

@B13POS Devedander is referring to the painted door handles, which are just painted while in standard games of this date have 3D designed door handles, same thing can happen to side yellow lights and so on,you don't have to be an eagle eye to spot that.

Really? drawn on door handles and gaps? My god, it was a video from a cheap hand held camera. What the 🤬 are you talking about?

You can go ahead and educate yourself if you like. But you have pretty much proven you didn't even bother to keep up with the info lately, so your arguments cant' really be given much weight.

I've watched the videos and the standard cars look completely fine. Jesus, I bet if the cars were made by Gods, You would still have something bad to say about it.
