I guess they only updated the resolution so they didn't look like complete garbage, so it would scale with 1080p properly, it's like stretching a image to 200% and complaining why the quality isn't as good..

People think that Standard Miata is Photoshopped? Really?

Those images are going to ignite something pretty ugly. Glad I'll be away for the next day or two.

I always find it ironic when someone says something like "That must not be the final version" or "that looks shopped" because what they are really saying is "that's so bad I can't believe it's really true"... which means if it turns out it really is true they have just flat out said it's horribly dissapointing...

Leaving jokes aside... There is something funny about this pic. I´m sure that the Miata does´nt look this bad even in GT4. I´ve seen other pictures of standards, and PD eliminated the jagged textures almost completly. I will take some pictures in GT4 to compare them. I´m thinking this is photoshoped. Otherwise, it could be a bad model, maybe PD forgot to upscale it, things like that have happend in the past. Remember the Evo 7 on GT3 that had the rear brake calipers in front, and the huge front calipers on the rear?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't look worse than GT4 models. Some cars in GT4 looked more detailed than others, there's even a thread about it in the GT4 section. That little zoom on the Miata shows the lack of polygons when compared to premium cars.

Good that you can admit that... learn from your lessons of the past and don't try to state things as fact that you don't know are true.

Well that didn't last long.

Oh God, this thread is a gold mine. 👍

I don't want to miss anything, so I'm not going anywhere.

Spot on.

As always, Toronado on page 469 uses his brain for something other than trying to act like the cool kid on the block, unlike other people.

Forget about the Miata for a second, look at the track, that's totally Gran Turismo 2.

The PS1 did not run at anywhere NEAR that resolution. Let's be realistic here:

BTW you realize you just basically said a GT5 shot looks like GT2? So much for the argument standard cars totally look totally fine.

Now that looks good 👍 And i'm not saying that just because i'm a standard car patriot. It doesn't look like a GT4 car, it really looks like a GT5 car.

Yea it looks pretty good, however it has nothing like the premiums though. Its cool though I still will enjoy them.

People are over reacting to the quality... Yes, but PD did fail to not even give people generic interiors to drive in from standards. This could have been easy(ish) to do, and as well as wheel modding for standards. I just think that's an no brainer. A lot of the old car logos look like they are in 8bit; Just very grainy. They didn't sharpen em up and that's laziness. Also, they left shark points on some cars, that's also laziness that could have been fixed in a very short time. I am not an idiot who thinks all cars should be premium quality, just it should be a lot cleaner in the areas I described.

Game doesn't have to be perfect. No one is expecting that. I am just disappointed in PD, that's all. Easy things are missing.

Side Note: Can anyone confirm that 400m/1000m and top speed testing are out in GT5? If so, I will be PISSED off big time. Not hard to make a 4-5 mile straight for car testing.

In motion it can look a bit better but when the Z comes close to the camera those blocky wheel wells are hard to ignore. I love watching replays in GT but it's not gonna be as fun watching these low quality models. :ouch:

Its all about the developement time. It had nothing to do with laziness on the developers part. We wouldve been waiting on this game even longer had those things been added. The game is massive enough.

why is this Standard car not leaving any tire makes

dont tell me that only premium cars leave tire makes:lol:

I thought I saw skid marks. Starts at 28 sec, to 31 seconds keep do it in slow mo.

Especially when they arent run through the softening filter of a cam shooting a TV set...

In my opinion, standard cars ruin the game.

The game looks unfinished because of the standard car.

As you can see when we see a standard car, everybody started to complain about how bad it is.

This problem would go away if PD didn't include standard car in the game.

There will be only complain like " only 200+ cars in the game " just that.

Did anyone consider the Miata was in its low LoD form and not the player car? Or are most of you satisfied with the only possibility of that being the only LoD model? In Forza 3 only the player car was in its "show room" quality during photomode. The other cars look very bad, The M3 has 16" looking wheels in this low LOD mode in FM3. Now Looking at the Miata its clearly a low LoD model and not the player car asthe car has been seen already in a replay and had more polygons in the windshield and "A" pillar....

Great physics + awesome cars = fine with standards. I would like a proper hood cam though since I'm missing out on cockpit view.

Go watch the video of the Veyron on the Top Gear track, it's standard and leaves skidmarks.

They do not ruin the game.

I think i'd rather have 1000 cars than 200. Cockpit or not. Textured or not.

So you know what does or doesn't ruin the game for someone else?
Let's not argue people's preferences, please.

I think he means the principle of it. Dont be so literal.

When someone clearly states that it's his opinion that teh standards ruin the game for him and someone comes right afterward and argues that, sort of like what you're doing with all of my posts(hope you're having fun), then it sure doesn't feel like a case of principals.

The point is that it is ridiculous to think that an added bonus ruins the game in the first place.

What 'added bonus'?

Do you think the windows in your home are an 'added bonus'? Or how about a container holding you beer instead of a puddle?

In this day an age, you'd expect those things right? Then it's not to difficult to understand that you'd expect to be able to use & experience most of the game features with most of the cars. It's also not unreasonable to expect features that were available in previous iterations of the game to be included in the newest one.

If there were only 200 premiums and zero standards, people would complain there aren't enough cars. Fools.

And after 6 years in development... that woudln't be enough cars.

The real fools are the ones who can only see two options:

Release now with 200 premiums

Release in a few years with more premiums.

The foolish part is not seeing the real crux of the point, and that is PD SHOULD have chosen a level of detail that would allow foor a reasonble number of cars to be released now.

Hey, we agree. 💡 Although 200 cars is no small number. I just wish there would be cockpits for all cars, or atleast a proper hood cam.
